We went to Howl at the Moon for their 35th anniversary on Friday evening. The place was pretty much empty when we first showed up and started to fill up throughout the night. The inside is quite large with a big bar and multiple seating/standing areas so you never feel claustrophobic. The food is catered and I saw it brought in. It's part of their Friday night fare. That night we had an appetizer bar of caprese skewers, a cheese and cracker platter, mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders with pretzel buns, chicken tenders, and fried veggie eggrolls. I went back for seconds of the sliders and the eggrolls because they were pretty good! The performers on the stage are so talented and they take requests along with cash or Venmo. We had a really fun time and I would come back!

Came here on the weekend during emo night and there was a $5 charge. The live music was amazing, it was nonstop pianos and singing popular songs and the performers were very engaging. The bar staff were kind and were easy to flag down. They had Jell-O shots as well which was nice. I definitely suggest coming on the weekend if you like live music!

Howl at the Moon is so fun! The live band is incredible as well! The bartenders are very knowledgeable and attentive, and the drinks are great! I would definitely recommend the spicy margarita!

I really enjoyed coming here for my first time. The servers were super nice and the drinks were pretty good. I wish they had the other section of tables opened up, it felt a little crowded.

Piano bar with live music! They take requests and always play bangers. There is usually a $5 of $10 cover on weekends which sucks. Also it is HOT in here. Zero ventilation. Fun for all ages.

    Friday night fun!

I needed something to do after weeks of being quarantined and then overworked! Howl at the Moon is always a great place to go listen to some really good live music with dueling pianos and extremely gifted , creative, and talented performers! I even met some new people I can now call friends. The atmosphere is always happy, and the servers are really nice. All of the servers I've had have always been accommodating, pleasant and outgoing and I like that. I ordered a Moscow Mule and, as usual, it was delicous. I then, along with my new friends, ordered a Green Tea Shot and it was delicous!!!! I loved it. I haven't had food here because I don't think they accommodated Vegans, but that's OK because you can order food and have it delivered to the bar!!!! Awesomenesssssss! I did just that and was able to have my friends, food and great music!!!!!

    Poorly poured Guinness. Soooo disappointing.

Very disappointed Bartender seemed enthusiastic but was really an ass. But hey. He tried to sell their bS drink. But heck not to be a snob. But.... Guy orders a whiskey neat. Give it to him in a glass. Not plastic. Lol. But the real killer is when you Order a Guinness and he pours it for you in less then 30 seconds. When I said to him. Your killing me. And he asks why. I said that is not how you pour a Guinness. He said yes it is. Goes to show you. Some people are just not really bartenders. But servers just serving drinks. Oh well. Music was good. One star.

Didn't try the food but the atmosphere is perfect for a good time in Pittsburgh. The service couldn't have been better. Wish we could have stayed for the dueling pianos.

Yet there was no gluten free foods, or dairy free snacks. The drinks of wine and beer were nice touch to the event. Service was lovely. The ambiance for the gathering was tight fitted and hard to hear from the middle of the room. Would be a good area for team meetings, with microphones still needed.

However, all the flavors were off, and they were lukewarm at best. I didn't really taste any hint of crème brulee aside from a regular latte. To make it crème brulee-esque, they put a piece of caramels sugar on top. No hints of vanilla or caramel. The latte art were blobby at best. This was a disappointing cafe experience considering how unique this office space is and how spacious it is. It is very colorful and vibrant with all of the greenery and plant pots. The high tables by the green wall don't have outlets, but the single table/booth right after this area have a few outlets between the tables. There's an upstairs garden and more to see besides the first level cafe and tiramisu. I'd check the hours on their Instagram to double check for any events or hours of operation. Street parking is available.

HIP at the Flashlight Factory may claim their "clients are not just another number," but their…read moreactions certainly prove that their clients are nothing more than dollar signs to them. Long story short, HIP notified my BFF via email only one week before her wedding that, to comply with the fire marshal's mandate, their venue would no longer be able to accommodate her wedding. Fortunately, the bride and bridal party were able to miraculously find another amazingly accommodating venue that same day, but HIP's handling of the issue was nothing less than classless. What was already a stressful situation was exacerbated by HIP's incompetent and unsympathetic actions, including (but not limited to): - delayed communication of the venue's inability to host the wedding - being unresponsive to requests to finalize details of the venue transition (yet still having time to post videos to social media about the situation) - trying to charge ridiculous prices for minimal venue involvement ($2,500 just to use the venue as a hotel and to take pictures there), - and claiming the rented tables were damaged when they were returned (even though they were already damaged when provided in the first place) just to be able to keep the $500 deposit We're so thrilled that the wedding turned out well despite the frustration of having to deal with HIP, but their behavior and attitude were completely unprofessional and, quite frankly, rude. If you're looking to have your big day at their venue, I'd recommend thinking twice. Give your business to people that truly have your best interests -- and not just your money -- in mind.
