Wow, people are so quick to hate. If the prices bother you, don't get your coffee there. We have nothing like this in the neighborhood. We should feel grateful that new businesses even come up to the foothills. We need more stuff like this! The owners took a for sale mid century drive through cleaners and turned it into an absolute gem. They kept most of the architecture intact, developed the grounds with native plants, and are offering a beautiful new space to the community. It's dog friendly and extremely welcoming. It's very convenient right off the 2 and close to downtown Montrose. read more

I love the space! What they did to the old dry cleaner's was very creative and it has a great vibe to the place!! Service was not amazing though.. most the staff seemed tired and overworked and I was pretty disappointed in my coffee. I was hoping I found my new fave nearby coffee spot.. but alas, it was not to be. It can get fairly crowded during the wknd but otherwise good space that hang out on a nice day! read more

Decent coffee. I had the espresso. Menu is on the expensive side. I saw lots of people from nearby businesses and a couple of families arrive after me. It has a nice, unique vibe: The 1960's-style dry cleaner architecture was reworked to have floor-to-ceiling windows, and even no glass, for a relaxing feel. You can just walk in and out of the interior to the nicely landscaped dry landscape. read more

Please open on Sundays ! We've been trying to get here every time we go to the Descanso Gardens and it's been closed on Sundays and Mondays. Coffee shop has no instagram so there's no way of getting in contact with the business. read more

Great coffee, amazing setting super nice staff cool owner and no more expensive than Starbucks these days. There's also a big old rock in the shop itself! It's very cool. They also bought a big pumpkin during Halloween. Also cool I like it a lot. read more

Amazing atmosphere and solid aesthetic, however, coffee is slightly overpriced and only fair at best. Very difficult to find seating if that is your goal, however, has nice outdoor seating also. Service was great and efficient. read more

I always try to support local, but it won't be here. Went there when they first opened to only get a cup of bitter coffee. Gave it another chance today and was shocked when I paid $9.00 PLUS tip for a matcha latte that came in a pretty small cup compared to most places around here. 3 stars for the chill ambiance and fast service, but clearly I'm not cool enough for this place. Stumbled upon this cafe on Instagram and was so excited to try it out since they're relatively new. I can definitely see this becoming a popular spot in LA! The staff were lovely and the overall ambiance was the star of the show. Beautiful renovation of the original building + great music to match. My friend and I ordered hot lattes, which were perfect on such an overcast day. Will definitely be back and spreading the good word about this place! read more

Like a beautiful woman with no personality. I've given this place a few tries because I love the vibe. But the customer service and quality of coffee just do not mach the aesthetic. Last time for example, I ordered an Americano. It was acidic and under-extracted. I tried to power through it but thought, why am I doing this? I sent it back and, with a dash of self-defensiveness, gave me a fresh cup. It was only slightly better but this time room temp. It's unfortunate because it would be such a great place seeing as Montrose needed a great coffee establishment. But until they hire baristas who are both trained and care about the company's philosophy and reputation they are only going to get patrons who drink Maxwell House. All the best. read more

Went to HIGTE today for a quick drink and the staff was amazing and nice and welcoming. I got an iced matcha made by Sef and he served it with a huge smile and was very well mannered. An interesting new spot! I would love to see it stick around and grow. The pastries were amazing, and the staff were super friendly and accessible. The drinks-- which should be the star of any coffee shop-- were a bit odd; the chai latte was VERY ginger-forward, which didn't suit my taste (but would be good for someone who loves a spicy rather than sweet chai), and the apple cream top (I think it was called?) was just apple juice with a layer of admittedly very nice cold foam on top. The cold foam was great though. As others have mentioned, the beverages are modestly sized and the seating was limited. I didn't have any problems finding a spot, but I wouldn't recommend it for large groups or sitting and working. read more

Stopped by the new retro-vintage coffee shop in town. We were greeted by one of the owners, as we admired how well they restored the former "Regal Cleaners" building to it's former glory. They added garden area where you can sit and enjoy a beverage. We were offered us a complimentary coffee and orange juice during their soft opening. She explained that they will soon be adding food items to the menu. I recommend stopping by and giving them a try. I will definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. read more

Such a cool coffee shop! Got an iced latte and a matcha latte. It's pretty pricey, even for LA, so I probably wouldn't find myself there often, but it's a cool spot to take a friend. Interior and building are stunning, baristas were nice and got our drinks super fast. They only have oat milk for alternatives which is a bummer because my friend can only drink almond so she ended up not greeting anything. Latte was delicious though. Wish they had a few more options for flavored lattes to try and a menu posted somewhere would be nice too. read more

I live in the neighborhood and was excited to try this place out, I had no idea it was a coffee shop. The place is nice, I imagine it's a nice ambiance if you want a chill and bright space to work from. Now as to why I only give it 3 stars: their drinks are outrageously expensive and honestly, a little out of touch with reality, and the area they're in. I get it, coffee in LA is expensive, sure. But a mocha here was $8 (!!!!!) flat out, from the get go. Without any milk modifications, without size options. At other similar coffee shops I go around this area and Pasadena, I normally pay like, 7-something, and that is after a milk modification that adds a bit. The mocha was a little 12oz cup, and honestly didn't have much taste besides the espresso + milk. I felt stupid having paid $8 for that (and I didn't modify the milk, I just went with regular whole milk because omg). And all the other specialty coffees/matcha were about this price as well. If you want tastier coffee with a price point that is within reason, drive a bit more and go to the excellent Reborn Coffee in La Crescenta. read more

Well, I'll tell you "How it's Going to End" for me and that's probably by not coming back. We came here in a group of 8 and we were all pretty disappointed. Prices were high for the quality and taste that we got. The lattes were very underwhelming and the matcha lattes tasted bland and watery (we didn't adjust anything, got one with oat and whole milk for both). I do have to say, the aesthetic inside is fairly pleasing, and the inside space is lit with natural sunlight. Service we received seemed like the employees didn't want to be there. Receiving our drinks, the drinks didn't have any labels or writing on what it is, so if there are four drinks out at the same time, it was hard distinguishing which drinks were ours. With the amount they're charging, I'm sure they can afford a sharpie and marking people's orders for convenience. I would overall skip this place and thats how it's going to end for me. read more

The aesthetics of this place are unbeatable, but the vibe is a little too serious, baristas unfriendly and the coffee isn't as good as they think it is. My biggest gripe is that I wanted a half caf and they refused to do it saying that their decaf beans and their regular beans taste so different it wouldn't taste good to combine them. Let me be the judge of that! Also, my husband, who is lactose intolerant and gluten-free didn't have a milk option as they only stock regular cow's milk, and a not gluten-free oat milk. The space is really nice and there was a nice little outdoor area to sit. The drinks though were just ok. Chai latte - this was SO GINGERY. Just a heads up for anyone who doesn't like ginger much, it almost tasted like I was drinking ginger juice. Cream top - also just ok. FYI the latte itself isn't sweetened, and the cream top part just has a little sweetness. White cheddar biscuit - not very flavorful. Also another FYI, the pastries cannot be warmed up.
