I instantly loved all the staff behind the counter, good people work here. :) A former Regal cleaners with mid-century modern angled roof and celestory windows has been transformed, with an open-air wall of windows and sliding glass doors, slid wide open in these foothills' frequently pleasant weather. The sliding glass door wall opens to a pebble-grounded xeriscape yard with reclaimed large logs of tree trunks for seating. Interior boasts a long counter for the employees' work stations, sheltered by a tasteful breeze block and light wood wall, featuring two window-like openings through which to interact and then proceed for your drink pickup. Flow here is well designed and ready for crowds if necessary, including a beautiful pinkish soft stone in the walking area, counter height, to assist in customer flow, and a couple tables and counters facing in different directions for laptop use (which it seems, is not discouraged here). The calming effect of clear and roomy architecture, gentle breeze from the hills, calming gentle music, and acoustics-dampening wood accents are all what you might hope for in a cafe. The one public restroom includes a changing table and new floor-to-ceiling one inch tiles and a charming built-in light accent. This place is exactly how I want Montrose to become. I predict it'll set a trend as a business model for new businesses in Montrose. It is genius to revamp an already existing place to preserve the historic points of the structure yet juxtapose it with a new concept. I ordered a "Cortado" and plopped right down onto the first stool I found available. I'm enjoying the music, the sound of people typing on their laptops, and side conversations about the minuscule beauties of life! I've been wanting to check out this place based on the vibes alone. It looks like a cafe straight out of palm springs with its mid century open design. There is no sign (just look for the old Regal Cleaners sign) and I kept forgetting the name of the cafe because it's a phrase - "How's It Going to End" - which is interesting, but I can never remember it so it's hard to tell people about it. The decor is really meditative, from the outside to the inside. The bathroom is fun, more on the pop side. Look up at the ceiling to see yourself. I haven't tried their coffees yet but I had the iced matcha latte with alt milk and it came out $9 and with tip it was over $10. The size of the matcha latte was on the smaller side. I'd probably come here if I was meeting with a friend and we were spending some time catching up. This place is super cute and aesthetic. From the outside they still have the regal laundry sign out so you wouldn't really know what it is until you see the crowds of people lingering outside. We came on a morning after a walk on Montrose. It was super clean, pretty inside, with many people sitting for conversations or studying inside. The workers were very kind and helpful! They have all the regular drinks, americanos to lattes to matcha. I didn't see any food in the menu, but I might have missed it. The prices of the drinks were ridiculous for the sizing. The latte was 8 dollars for a smaller than a Starbucks tall cup. The americano in the same size was 4 dollars. The latte was good, but I don't think 8 dollars worth. Overall I think this is a cute, trendy, overpriced coffee shop in the area. It's nice to have a few choices now besides Starbucks and coffee bean, but with the price point it will not be my go-to. read more

Great coffee is important to me. In fact, I'm a bit of a coffee snob. So my 4 stars refer to the quality of the coffee. My go to is a breve latte. No flavors, no sweeteners. So that's what I ordered. What I received was a latte made with oat milk. I didn't have it remade because I hate waste. My boyfriend would have enjoyed the coffee much more than I. For an oat milk disliker the coffee was fine; I finished it. It seemed to be a medium roast and had a mellow finish. Service is good and friendly and the shop itself is very attractive with amazing big rocks both inside and out. No super comfy seats so you won't hang for hours, but it's a lovely space. read more

The exterior/interior design choices definitely remind me of Community Goods with a Montrose twist. The open layout allows for pockets of space for small groups to have conversations while enjoying their drinks. I ended up getting the vanilla latte, and I was surprised by how good the quality of the vanilla/vanilla bean was! I don't think many coffee shops have a drink like this one, so get it if you're looking for a standard drink with a little twist. The espresso was also pretty solid - I liked that it was pretty smooth and not too acidic. The latte was pretty pricey for what you get, but it's a nice treat every so often. I got the ham and cheese croissant, but I wish it had been warmed up a little as the cheese was pretty hard to bite into (if crunchy cheese is your cup of tea, this is perfect). Awesome new coffee & pastry joint in Montrose! Chic, upscale, and open air concept inside with a pretty garden outside. This was converted from a former laundromat (still has the sign outside). All of the pastries we tasted were excellent, and I highly recommend them (quiche, cinnamon buns, chocolate croissants, etc). The coffee was good too, and they have other options like matcha tea. The only downside is minimal indoor seating, but I imagine they will add more as it starts to get busier. Only a small parking lot available (~5 spots) but street parking nearby. This is a minimalist, hip and groovy coffee place in Montrose that recently opened. The former dry cleaner building has been transformed with a nice open space filled with native plants, benches and some great boulders. As for the cappuccinos, they are $5.50 and made with some very good artisan beans. It's not a giant portion, but quality and they were ready pretty fast. They do not make 1/2 decaf cappuccinos, so be prepared to choose decaf or caf. Plenty of baked goods in the case. Lots of merch and beans for sale, but there were no prices. I got my usual, iced vanilla latte half sweet. It got even better with time. The vanilla syrup (housemade!) mixed so well with the milk and espresso. Everything went beautifully together, and nothing overshadowed the other. Although it was a bit too sweet for my taste. I also got a matcha latte which wasn't as good as I was hoping for, but glad I tried it at least. There were some " please take your drink and leave" vibes when I walked in and interacted with the cashiers. I caught eyes that scanned me up and down immediately when I walked in. I really loved my first visit to HIGTE! They're very dog friendly, which I always love! My pup enjoyed sniffing around the cute gravel patio area. I would've considered sitting outside if there had been little bistro tables out there and perhaps better shade coverage (maybe one or two of those triangle shade sails?). I hope they consider adding some tables and shades that still match their streamlined aesthetic. With that said, I was super elated to find out that my pup could sit inside with me, as I wanted to get some laptop work done in the cool interior space. Service staff was very friendly. Since it was later in the day, I was already plenty caffeinated. But I wanted a sweet afternoon treat, so I ordered a decaf iced vanilla latte and added a cream top. Delicious! I didn't want my sipping experience to end! The price was definitely steep, so this would never be my everyday go-to coffee spot, but I treated it as just that--a treat. I also shared a chocolate chip cookie with my coworker. It was yummy too. All of the items I recall seeing at the counter looked like sweets. So they could possibly benefit from a few savory options, maybe even a little premade sando? This spot in montrose was so cute and vibey. This area needed a cute trendy spot like this. I loved how the drink didn't taste artificial and it was very tasty. The drinks have no addictive extra sugars like Starbucks. The only sweetener they have is vanilla which they make. If you like sweet drinks like me I would tell them to add an extra splash of their vanilla sweetener which is what I did. I ordered the iced vanilla matcha latte which was very delicious.
