Even though her company only handles funeral services, she is extremely professional and helpful. She explained how to get quotes for the work I need and offer to provide phone numbers of these companies. Came here yesterday for my grandmother's burial. The people who own this cemetery also own another one in San Francisco. This location is MUCH better than the one in San Francisco because it really does not give that creepy and scary cemetery vibe and walking to your loved ones plot/ grave marker is much easier to walk to since it is pretty much flat lands (at the other place, people are buried on steep hills and its pretty dangerous to walk on the dirt to get up to your loved one, especially if they are higher up the hill. This is especially difficult for elderly to make their way up as well). Also wanted to mention that this location is a lot smaller than the other one. The grass looked like it needed to be mowed, it wasn't really crazy long, but just needed to be trimmed. There are several trash cans around which is nice to be able to throw out the plastic wrapping that the flowers you would buy at a florist comes in. I thought it was kind of odd that the sprinklers when we were there between 2:30 pm- 3:30 pm. What if people wanted to come and visit their loved ones? Will they just have to sit in the car and visit that way in order to prevent from getting wet? I think they should either have their sprinklers on early in the morning or later in the evening so that it does not interrupt anyone's visit to this cemetery. And also so that when people arrive, their shoes will not get all dirty and muddy. Anyways, this place is an easy miss, as we had missed the main entrance the 1st and 2nd time we have been here (my grandfather was buried here last year). Just drive slow on Hillside so that you don't miss the main entrance (although you could park on the street, but make sure you read the signs for the time restrictions) or you'll just have to make a U-turn and come on back. Overall, this cemetery is definitely a lot better than their other location and thought the place was a nice place. read more

My grandparents on my dads side are buried here and I always try to make an effort to visit them whenever I am back in the city. The cemetery is very well kept. I want to thank the people who take care of the grounds. On a sunny day it's actually really pretty and it's make me happy that my grandparents are buried here. They have hoses for water and trash cans for burning incense. There's also parking inside. Usually I'm the only one when I visit my grandparents unless it's also someone's burial then there are other people. Miss my grandma so much. read more

I am there almost once or twice a week, honestly some part of the cemetery are okay and most area of the cemetery are dirt road with a little or no grass at all. So if and when it's windy, dirt travels. Besides the police training next door, at times it could be noisy hearing them during target practices but not always. I still like to spend my days here for it's quietness. At times I fell like bringing a portable chair and spend most of the day with love one , considering the weather is beautiful at times. read more

This is a very pretty cemetery, relatively new, well kept, easy to get around. My grandmother's brother is buried here, Kew Goong, as well as fiance's great grandparents, and his dad's best friend's parents. I love Chinese cemeteries because they are genealogy goldmines, you can get SO MUCH from a Chinese headstone: village of origin, real name, photos, real birth dates. Love it. If you want to do Chinese genealogy research, you have to talk to the folks in the SF Chinatown office, there's no on site office here. Every year, when Ching Ming Festival comes around, we come here to bai-sun (pray) for my dad. We always bring fresh oranges, incense, candles, firecrackers, and armloads of spending money for the after world. Mom found a shop to put together a care package for him. Inside a large paper bag the size of a king size pillow, is stuffed with paper made products of fancy gold watches, a spectacular suit, Italian shoes, and tons of cash, gold and silver. The package was hand-picked by a shop in Chinatown in which they wrote my dads name on the exterior to ensure a proper delivery to the ghost-world. There's only 1 way for this package to get delivered to him and that is to burn it in front of his tombstone. It's a once a year trip to see him, so, we must make sure he has wads of spending money to last him an entire year. How do we know he got his funds? Legend says, that when floating ashes in the air turns from black to grey, shipment has been received... bbrrrr... it's kinda spooky that way! You would think that going to a cemetery is a sad occasion, in which it is. But during Ching Ming Festival, it's a celebration of family. Families will come out and enjoy the fresh chilled air of Colma and bring platters of BBQ dishes, buns and fruits to share among the living and the dead. It's like a picnic in the cemetery. My uncle (R.I.P.) once told me that this festival is serious business in China, as each family will try to compete with who has the biggest and baddest roast pork in the cemetery. And I don't mean a side dish of roast pork but the whole pork, including the head. Our family is modest as we only bring oranges as our offerings. We figured, dad can go spend his big bucks on roasted protein at his leisure. Like any other festival comes traffic jams, parking issues, bathroom lines and trying to snag the money burning canister (FedEx for the dead). But to avoid all the fuss, try to come a week before or after Ching Ming Festival. As for the cemetery itself, it's Colma, so, it's always windy, cold and very gloomy! But occasionally, the sun will shine through and the views of the rolling green hills will make up for it. read more

Very nice, well kept -- the whole area, lawn, front gates. Would be nice if they turned off the water sprinklers on days that it's already raining. (save water) and turned off the sprinklers on weekends and holidays. (use the sprinklers on the weekdays -- when less people visit). Mother's Day the sprinklers were on during the rain. My parents are rested here & the cemetery seems to be well kept. Lately I've rested my sister here after her cremation. The only down side is that for us to visit where her urn is only Saturday 10am-3:30pm. The person is only there on that day to open the door in that building. The rest of the plotted area in the cemetery is opened daily. The big shocker for me was how expensive these plots alone are going for @ a minimum of $25K each based on sq. footage & it's location, that's more expensive than SF real estate. We haven't even include the cost of the coffin, burial vault, tombstone, ceremony & the after ceremony party. In case ur wondering the complete process of cremating my sister & a final resting place totaling came to around 12K & this is @ a bare minimum during this pandemic w/only 2 families attending the ceremony including mine. I usually don't write reviews but, this has to be said as I don't want anyone to ever have the same HORRIBLE experience with this place that I did. My grandfather passed away on on Feb 17th. The day after, the family and I went to this place to purchase a plot for my grandparents. We have to buy the plots here because my family is hoy sun and that is the tradition I guess. The Chinese lady that helped us gave horrible customer service but, that's expected from a place located in Chinatown. She basically just handed us the paperwork, gave no explanation, talk, or breakdown of fees. Anyways, after all the paperwork we did to purchase the plots, the lady working at the place asked if we needed pallbearers. At the time my family did not know yet because we were planning on asking some friends to see if they would be willing to do it. So, we told the lady we were not sure yet and she told us the latest that we can tell them that we want to hire pallbearers was the following Wednesday. Fast forward to the following Tuesday, we decided to hire pallbearers. We went to this place and saw the same lady there that helped us the previous week with the plot purchasing. Paid the 300 bucks for 6 pallbearers, made the check out to a Juan Ledesma, whoever that person is. The lady was also helping another family at the same time so, to ensure that she as paying attention to what we wanted, I even asked her "so, the pallbearers will show up at the funeral home right?" and she said yeah yeah yeah its fine. they will show up. do not worry about it. Well, guess what? Fast forward to Sunday, the day of the memorial service. NO PALLBEARERS SHOWED UP. It was horrifying and made the whole service completely disorganized. My uncle had to ask his friends last minute at the service to be pallbearers. Thank god they agreed to do it. Otherwise, we would have been screwed. The next day, we went back to this place to complain that the pallbearers never showed up. This time, the lady that helped us the last 2 times we were there was not working. Instead a different lady was there. We told her that no pallbearers showed up and she immediately gave someone a call, which I assume was this Juan Ledesma person. She got off the phone and said the plot was located at ____ right? I said yes. And she said yeah well did you see some mexicans there? And I'm like...yes the people who helped lower the casket into the burial hole. And she goes, yeah those were the people you hired. They were there. I replied saying ...well no thats not how pallbearers work...THEY SHOW UP TO THE FUNERAL HOME, then carry the casket to the burial site. JUST LIKE THE LADY WE GAVE THE PAYMENT TO LAST WEEK SAID THEY WOULD. So basically this lady lied and said that the people who lowered the casket into the hole were pallbearers. I know that those workers work for the cemetery. They were not pallbearers. How about instead of trying to cover up the fact that the lady just plain forgot to tell the pallbearers to show up just own up that she made a mistake? The end result was that we were out 300 dollars without any service. It's not even about the money in the end. It's about the fact that they made an embarrassment of my grandfather's memorial service. If you want to have an honorable memorial for your loved ones, do not come here asking for their service. read more

As you enter you are greeted by two stone lion statues. They are the protectors of this cemetery. ( I watch too many movies hahaha XD) This is a beautiful cemetery, it is very clean and the grass is well taken care of. My grandpa is buried here. As some of you may know that my grandmother passed away recently, she is now here with him. They get to be together again. Apparently this is a very popular cemetery to be buried in, luckily my grandma purchased both plots when my Grandpa passed away. read more

i mean it's a cemetery. so i suppose it gets a 5, b/c my grandparents are here and of course we gave them nothing but the best. it abides by all of the great chinese superstitions, like must be facing in that certain direction, etc etc (actually i'm really not sure what they are, but my parents sure do). it's well kept, every time we come most trash is gone, and the grass is mowed fairly well. i mean fairly well in that theres not a lot of weeds to remove or wild mushrooms growing (sounds strange, but i saw some today on the grounds). theres trashcans always close by, and seems to be always relatively traffic-free, maybe b/c it's a smaller facility. this seems kind of strange yelping a cemetery, but oh well, it's as good as any other i suppose. not even sure if people use yelp to decide on cemeteries. read more
