In 2022, when my mother passed away, there was no question about where my family would go for her memorial marker--Art in Stone. We began the original design with Mike Radar. When we returned in 2025 after my father passed away to make changes and create a double memorial marker, my sister and I did not yet know that Mike had passed in 2024, which explained so much. It was at that time that we met Kirill Golubkov. From the moment we began working with Kirill to make the necessary changes to include our father, the communication was outstanding--absolutely no complaints. We requested many revisions along the way, and Kirill handled every change with patience and professionalism. He truly "understood the assignment" and designed a memorial marker that my siblings and I absolutely love. Kirill was always kind, understanding, and respectful during such an emotional process. It was truly a pleasure working with him, and we are deeply grateful for the care and dedication he put into honoring both of our parents. After purchasing 3 headstones from this company, I would not recommend them to anyone. Our family lost 3 members in quick succession, and we wanted to simplify the process of buy monuments by giving our business to this company. We regret this now, as they have violated their promise of quality work that lasts forever. Two of the laser engraved photos were damaged by water or rain. The laser engraved images now look blotchy and distorted. We reached out to Mike and his son, who gave us the run around for months. They do not stand behind their work and will hide, evade, give excuses, and hope that you will get tired of pursuing the issue and go away. This is probably the greatest insult of all as their customer service was poorer than the quality of their work. read more

My wife passed away April 2024. I went to Art In Stone (AIS) in June 2024 to plan for the monument. Michael was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and provided an estimate for the total cost. I requested a non-standard design above the inscription. AIS provided various versions of the design until we had the final design. AIS was very helpful in customizing the design to my specifications. In January 20525, the monument was finished and I went to AIS to review and approve the finished monument. My husband's death last November was unexpected and not a good death. I wanted his grave and headstone to reflect who he was as a person, not just his name and dates of life. He is buried across the street from Art and Stone, and about seven months later, I wandered in to look around and face the challenge of doing just that. Mr Rader senior was there and he spent a good hour with me designing a traditional headstone for both my husband and me. I left with an outline and he with a deposit. Until I got it out to plan my husband's headstone unveiling ceremony, I thought I liked it, but wanted to make some changes. So I went back and met with Michael Rader. Michael easily engaged in two weeks of daily phone calls and e-mails going back and forth with me about what was possible with what I wanted. We finally agreed, and then something I did not know was possible was made possible when I went back in to finalize! My husband has an adult child with exceptional needs, Michael was able to superimpose artwork she made when he father died on the back of the headstone with a special message for her father. HAD MICHAEL NOT BEEN GENUINELY INTERESTED IN MY OBJECTIVE AND MY FAMILY, THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. Yesterday at the headstone unveiling, everyone, including the Rabbi were taken aback by how personal, meaningful and UNIQUE the headstone was. Don't be fooled by this place. I'd give 0 stars if I could. My grandfather died December of 2020 and he still does not have his headstone. This place sources their materials from India and did not tell my family that the stone that we picked needed to be custom ordered. We were given a 3 month turn around and we are now approaching the 2 year anniversary of his death. The owners of the shop do not answer emails, pick up the phone, and their voicemail is full. We have not received an update in months. Utterly dissapointing and unprofessional. Don't order a headstone for your loved one here. read more

Of course, the task of having a memorial headstone or grave marker is something we don't ever want on our responsibility list. Sadly, it's still a must. Having experienced numerous frustrations with the staff, the lack of creative product and the cost at the cemetery where my husband had been buried, I happened upon "Art in Stone". I was immediately impressed with the quality and design integrity of the work displayed (at least on their outdoor grounds as they were closed when I initially drove by). On my subsequent visit, I was treated as a valued client. Michael Rader was attentive, informative, and direct. As an artist, I was very impressed with the work displayed in their interior showroom. The senior Rader is an accomplished artist and his professionalism was reflected in the work displayed. While we had a few administrative challenges due to Covid, Michael presented me with a beautiful version of what I wanted, was very receptive to my suggestions and came up with a design that exceeded my expectations. They took care of all the details; cleaning the site, removing the existing marker and installing the much improved version. While it was a sad task, Art in Stone made it a worthwhile endeavor. read more

I just wrote a long review and lost it somehow. Short version: They made a nice grave marker for my dad in 2010. There was a comma missing. I didn't notice it right away. I have now been calling a few times a year for probably 7-8 years to get the comma added. I sent very clear email in 2016, 2018 and earlier in 2020. They are nice but I'm thinking maybe I need to be, pardon-the-expression, bitchier to get them to correct the error? Two stars because my mom's headstone that was done in 2015 looks lovely. Sick and tired but will not give up. I am truly ill, disabled at home, and have nothing better to do than be a nag, I guess. Although at some point, my energy and strength will run out because making calls during the day is exhausting. Apparently their email box is full. Oh well. But I am not giving up. read more

We placed an order back in early May of 2012 and it was stated on the contract that my father's monument would be completed August 2012. As of today...NOTHING. Now, I fully understand that sometimes there are hiccups in any plan but we're going on NINE months now...I COULD'VE HAD A BABY BY NOW!!! I am writing this review only based on the customer service my family and I have recieved thus far as I have yet to get a glimpse of any part of the monument yet. No phone calls ever made by the company with updates, reports, reassurance, etc. However, I called many times but only to hear excuses like 1. have to talk to Michael to find out what's happening, 2. Michael went home sick today, 3. Michael is still sick (two days later), 4. weather delayed shipment, 5. problems with distributors, 6. stone is at port but not at the facility. Oh, they don't return phone calls either. Actually, Michael did call me back once after I left many messages. Not that it mattered because my father's final resting place is still missing a headstone...nine months later...oh, did I mention that already? read more

I understand that they would not want to create a monument in which they feel is not up to their design standards. That being said I think that it is more important that the family and friends of the deceased think that it is beautiful and a good representation of their loved on. IF you have no idea what you want in terms of design, Art in Stone can definitely guide you. BUT if you have an idea in mind and just looking for a company to make it a reality you might want to look elsewhere. "YOU JUST CANNOT RUSH ART" The monument this place designed for my parents is just absolutely amazing . The granite colors matched almost perfectly, which is very hard to find in natural stone. The lotus design is one of a kind and it resembles a dragon (which is kind of strange because neither Leon or Michael knew that both of my parents were born in the Year of Dragon, I guess it was just all meant to be and I love it!) Leon was my initial contact and I just love the way how he tells it like it is. Basically, we sat down with Leon and told him what we want, don't want, what we like and dislike and he sketched this amazing design with his magic pencil. Michael took over the sketch and created the gorgeous stonework. Both of them listened to what our family wanted and gave their input. Our father passed 2007 and AIS helped us create a beautiful stone. We lost mom earlier this year but waited for the update because of shelter in place. AIS was closed for months, so we waited til mid July to submit the request. When we went in they advised us of the backlog and asked for our patience. No worries, just wanted it ready for All Souls Day. Well now it's done and with plenty of time to spare. It's beautiful and they refinished the rest of the stone. I am baffled by the bad reviews. In the last 5 years, my family had to order 2 tombstones from these guys, and people are in shock when they see the beautiful work. My grandpa's monument is gorgeous, has a beautiful rose, a portrait of him on it, it's flawless on beautiful, smooth, clean, granite. Our family dog passed away recently, and we wanted the best for him as well, so we came back here. Let me just say, when I put the picture of my dog's monument on my social media pages, people were just absolutely shocked and amazed. The owners are great. They understand your pain, they understand the feeling, and they do the best job I've ever seen. Their monuments stand out at both cemeteries; my grandpa's and the pet cemetery. Their work is beautiful and the customer service is fantastic. They do amazing work, and they also don't just sit and listen to what you want but offer opinion and help if needed.
