I contacted Terry Madsen at High Street Automotive through Yelp. Terry asked me to send the failed test report to him, and convinced me the sensor most likely are good. I just needed a proper drive to reset the sensors. I listened to him and drove the car follow the suggested driving pattern for ~40 miles. It passed! I most appreciated is the he offered his expert opinion without charge. Terry was not only just asked questions online. He went to extra miles ask me to send test report through email he gave to me during online exchange. It is rare nowadays.

Jesse was the one that I spoke to and at the end of the service, he told me that they had checked my break fluid for me (without me needing to ask) and recommended that I come back in a year to get it flushed out since it was still good at the time he checked it. Fast forward a year, I came in and spoke to Jesse again and asked if he could check my brake fluid to see if it needed changing. He kindly did so and was honest with me and told me that my brake fluid was still good and did not need changing and that I could probably push the service a little longer. Keep in mind, this second time I came in I had no other services done. Their honesty and fair prices have definitely converted me into a regular customer. I will be bringing my vehicle here for my maintenance oil changes because their prices are better than the previous place I was going to.

I had a terrible time with the gentleman who owned the shop in front of theirs, who lied and told me I was in the right place, which wasn't corrected until I called Fremont Auto Center looking for an update. Jack personally went next door to check on my car, and offered me 10% off repairs. I was told I could drop my car off the next day without needing another appointment. I met Sal, who has such a wonderful and charming personality, and it was great to meet Jack in person, too. Within an hour, I had the full analysis and estimate, and around 2:30, a couple of hours before closed, I was called and told the car wouldn't be finished, and asked if I'd like to come pick it up for the weekend (which I declined, we didn't need it!). The prices were fair, and their system of telling you what absolutely needs work versus what they recommend to be worked on was so great in helping me understand what was wrong with the car. My experience with them made me tell my husband that I'd drive to them if we ever moved out of the area. I can't recommend this place enough (just make sure you drive all the way to the green building and dont let anyone stop you like I did!)

Last summer, they painted the entire exterior from a dirty dull beige to a lively white with black trim. They patched up all the holes/cracks in the stucco, power washed, and taped EVERYTHING! At the end of each day, they cleaned up and put away the tools so the house was still accessible. It's crazy how different the house looks compared to before. I'm just loving it! Then over the winter, Chris' team returned because I wanted my garage refinished. I had 70s paneling and broken/crumbling dry wall. Considering how much time I spend in my garage, I can't believe I lived with such an eye sore for so many years. I gave Chris the hard task of wanting smooth walls, and if you know...that's a whole lot of sanding. His team came through and delivered! I love the new paint color on the walls, and no longer despise my garage. Oh, and also want to mention that he also patched up a bunch of holes inside my house (from electrical work I had done) and matched the existing wall texture and paint. You can't even tell the difference. Overall, Chris is amazing to work with. He's super responsive via text/calls. He's worked with many contractors over the years, and can give referrals if additional work is needed for your home. I would definitely recommend All Purpose Painting to my friends and family.

Save yourself the trouble -- go somewhere else…read more I brought my car to Quick Boys Brake & Tune in Fremont to have a bearing replaced. Right away, there were red flags: I had to source and bring in the replacement parts myself, and once they started the job, they told me they couldn't remove my hub -- so they used a torch to cut it off instead. That damaged the hub, meaning I then had to buy a replacement hub on top of the original part. They also pulled off my CV axle by banging it out, and it turned out they didn't even realize the bearing required 3 seals. I stayed and watched the entire job from start to finish. When they were done, they put everything back together and I paid and left. As soon as I got on the freeway, there was a loud noise that hadn't been there before. I went back the very next day. They told me the mechanic who'd worked on my car wasn't in that day and that I'd need to come back when he was scheduled. I got a second opinion from another shop in the meantime, and their diagnostic confirmed exactly what I suspected: the bearing had been installed incorrectly. I brought the car back to Quick Boys again with this information. This time the workers were argumentative, and they still refused to fix what they hadn't installed correctly the first time. If you care about your car -- or just want a shop that knows what they're doing and stands behind their work -- I'd steer clear of this place. I had to supply my own parts, watched them torch off a hub and damage it, buy replacement parts they should have known I needed, and then get turned away twice when the job they did caused a new noise on the way home.
