My go-to is Hu Tieu Go, kho (dry version, broth on the side). You also have the option of doing half egg noodles & half hu tieu (can choose soft vs chewy/clear noodles). Also ordered banh khot (14pc). Tasty/crispy, but not the same as Viet Nam Quan. Shrimp shell left on, and coconut flavor is overpowering sometimes. Their fish sauce is delicious though! Seating is somewhat cramped because the space is small and they try to have as many people as they can so some chairs/tables are close together. They can fit a group of 6 in the center which is nice for bigger groups but any bigger, then it'll feel cramped and have to break the party into 2 groups to sit separately. Groups of 2-4 are best. This place does take card and cash which is nice for a small business but they do have a tax if you use card (of course). I always order Pha Lau, hu tieu go (they pack it smaller size so perfect for me), and hu tieu go dac biet (more meat options and broth). It's a very simple bowl of noodles but yet so satisfying. Does remind me of hu tieu go in Vietnam. The pha lau is good but some days it is saltier than others. It comes with a toasted French bread. I would double check your order before you head out. I've gotten missing condiments sometimes and it is frustrating because the dish isn't complete. Also they are basically cash only. Great quality Vietnamese food at an incredible price. The restaurant is kind of hidden in a little strip of shops, but it is an amazing find. We felt like strangers in there among a mix of more elderly Vietnamese folks stopping in after work and groups of parents telling their kids to stop using their electronics in Vietnamese while they retorted in English -- very goods signs of authenticity. While the interior is nothing special and unassuming, the food is incredible and at such an inexpensive price! We ordered the Hu Tieu Go (pho with pork broth), Mi Go (like Hu Tieu Go but without broth), and Xi Quach (pork bones). The noodles in both dishes were cooked perfectly, and the clear pork broth had an incredibly aromatic, smooth, and delicate flavor. The thin slices of pork were also great, and the crispy garlic chips and green onions were great toppings that added crunch and extra depth. As for the pork bones, the meat was falling off the bone, the connective tissue was practically gelatenized, and it was all packed with the fantastic pork broth flavor that it was used for. If you're feeling particularly decadent, dip the meat in a mix of soy sauce/vinegar/hoisin and the nice slices of chili (bird's eye chili?) they include at every table. Flavor town. The portion sizes are reasonable but smaller than most other Vietnamese restaurants, but I think the price, quality, and flavor more than make up for it. I'm a hu tieu lover. I adore it much more than pho or bun bo hue. I went through my phases with hu tieu Phanh Ky and Hong Phat. Both were good, but not comparable to Hoa Map.
