On top of that my bike was there for a week just to put some new tires I purchased there and they didn't even service what I originally brought it in for. I am very frustrated and highly disappointed that I will also express my frustration with this experience on yelp and google and hope that it reaches other potential customers from having to experience what I experienced and maybe take their business elsewhere!

Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Damaged a Well-Maintained Vintage Bike…read more I brought my 40-year-old vintage bike -- which had been meticulously maintained for decades and was in excellent condition -- to this shop because of a stuck nut on the rear wheel. Instead of addressing the issue or replacing just the axle (which I clearly requested), they insisted the entire wheel had to be replaced. Reluctantly, I agreed. After the replacement, I noticed that the freewheel was visibly oscillating, which was never an issue before. When I brought the bike back, their response was dismissive -- claiming the problem was simply due to the bike being "bad quality." That was completely false and insulting, considering the bike's proven condition and history. I even brought a replacement axle and asked them to reinstall the original wheel (which I had marked), but instead of fixing anything, they just said they'd give me the old wheel back -- without doing the work. To support the fact that this is a well-maintained, quality bike, I've uploaded photos of the original purchase receipt from 1986 and the owner's manual -- not many people keep those for 40 years. This bike has never had a scratch and ran flawlessly until this visit. At best, this was unprofessional and careless. At worst, it was dishonest. They ignored my request, pushed unnecessary work, introduced a new mechanical problem, and then refused to restore the bike to its original state. This shop wasted my time, money, and damaged a bike I cared deeply about. I strongly advise others to stay away, especially if you value your bike and expect respect and transparency.

I was a novice looking to get into biking and rather…read morethan trying to sell me an expensive bike right off the bat they got me on a bike that was affordable and gave me the start that I needed in order to figure out if I loved the sport. There were some issues with my bike and I never had issues or surprises when I went in for help getting it fixed. They've never pressured me into buying something that I didn't want or need and the prices that they've charged have all been very reasonable. At one point there is a warranty issue and it was fixed with no problems and resolved quickly so I can get back on the road again. So I fell in love with cycling and now have upgraded my bike. I could've chosen any brand that is out there. I looked into various bikes and models and in talking to them, they even encouraged me to look at different bikes because they would rather me be happy and enjoy riding than being stuck with an expensive bike that I was not happy with. Never any pressure to stick with and buy a Trek. So now that I am upgrading, I chose to stay with the Trek brand because not only is the bike the most comfortable for me, but knowing that I have a bike shop within a mile and a half from my home that I trust and I know will treat me well Is what makes the difference. During First Friday, they have a small outdoor sitting area that is great to chill and chat with friends. Inside, they have two small fridges full of exotic and cool beers. I was very surprised to see all of the amazing beer selections they have. There was also a food truck parked next to the sitting area and there were a few vendors selling all sorts of local handmade stuff.

They serve all kinds of local craft beers on the cheap around here. Come in for Happy Hour or First Friday, and see if you can find the craft beer grab bucket- where they discount craft beers that just aren't selling as fast as they'd like. It's some of the cheapest beer in Southtown on a warm First Friday night. The beer focuses on the local breweries. Plus, if you come by on First Friday, they have been setting up a bunch of artist booths, a coffee booth, musicians and stuff in the parking lot. You can come in, grab a beer, hang out while they work on your bike! They sell electric bikes and bike gear, and lots of local stuff for your bike. They're doing such cool things in this spot- it used to be a nasty old convenience store, and now it's a really cool addition to the neighborhood! Yay!
