Bought an e-bike (Vado 6) and a gravel bike (Diverge expert) this Fall. Specialized makes amazing bikes, but they aren't cheap. In fact, they are the very opposite of cheap. However, never once did I feel like I was overpaying. The entire experience was absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend this shop more. read more

I walked in there today and wasn't even acknowledged or asked if I needed any help by the staff. Just because I'm in sandals doesn't mean I'm not going to conduct business. I got a don't belong here vibe which really triggered me to write my experience here at this location. On top of that my bike was there for a week just to put some new tires I purchased there and they didn't even service what I originally brought it in for. I am very frustrated and highly disappointed that I will also express my frustration with this experience on yelp and google and hope that it reaches other potential customers from having to experience what I experienced and maybe take their business elsewhere! read more

I took my semi-neglected 2010 Specialized mountain bike here for a tune-up. When I say neglected, the bike has moved with me from California to Kansas, to Texas, to Hawaii, to Germany, and back to Texas. During those moves, the movers damaged it here and there, and I never bothered to really address them. The front brake rotor was slightly bent, causing the front wheel not to spin freely and to squeal really severely when using the brakes. My derailleurs were also slightly off, so I could never easily change gears. Additionally, my bike computer stopped working, and I couldn't get it to connect with the magnet anymore to show my speed. I took it to Bicycle Heaven for their basic tune-up. They fixed my bent rotor and squeal, adjusted my derailleurs, and even fixed my computer to connect again! On top of that, they did a quick wipe-down of the whole bike. While my shifting isn't 100% after this tune-up, it is much better than it was. Their lead time for a basic tune-up was 1 week, and I received a phone call exactly at the 1-week mark, as promised. read more

In and out under 20 twenty minutes. Perhaps the stars were aligned and the cards were in my favor. One of my friend's recommended this bike shop when I mentioned that my bike needed tuning. I finally went and before I even walked in, there was a sweet lady that offered to roll my bike into the shop. She then directed me to one of their mechanics and was told to feel free to browse the store. I felt welcomed and comfortable. I was also very impressed with the shop, just about every accessory you could possibly need along with the expertise of the employees. In no time my bike was taken for a test ride and I was on my way. Quick, efficient and reasonably priced this shop is definitely a favorite of mine now. read more

Listen, I'm a pretty big "yelper"; I was literally in the shop a week or so ago and literally wondered (aloud) how I'd never written a review for them before...shame on me! Bicycle Heaven has become my GO TO bike shop. I've been to a couple others in the area, and this is the only shop where I've experienced that "bike shop vibe". You know the one - almost like Cheers - without the booze. Ha! No, seriously - every time I've been in there - everyone working there is more than happy to chat, answer questions, guide you, get your bike fixed - whatever it is - they'll do it, and be plenty friendly along the way. They are, by far, friendlier than any staff I've found at any other shop. Last time I was there, I made a comment about how their atmosphere made me wanna just pull up a chair and chat. One of their employees literally said something like - yeah, that's how it happens. You come in on THAT side of the counter - and you end up on THIS SIDE (meaning the employee side). Bought a used bike and it need some minor repairing. I brought my bike in to Bicycle Heaven to see what they could do. When I arrived I was offered help with getting my bike out of my truck bed. They took the bike in for me and fixed the problem while I waited. The whole experience was great staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My bike was fixed for under $20. I just read an article in Bicycling about people's experiences in bike shops. The focus of the article was on the variation in service quality acknowledging that many shops only provide good service to young, fit, male riders. Without a doubt, I have been in a couple shops like that in SA. However, be assured that Bicycle Heaven is the opposite. Just bought a new Enduro from Bicycle Heaven at 9987 Interstate Highway 10, San Antonio, and everyone in the place was extremely knowledgeable about their products and mountain bikes in general. The first guy to show me the Enduro was a sales guys...very friendly and down to earth guy. He didn't try to push the bike on me, just gave me the facts...this was great. I walked in to this shop for first time to get a flat tire repaired. They were able to fix my tubeless tire as I waited and even did both for the price of one and had it ready in about 20 min. My bike was going on 12 years old so I had a ton of questions about new bikes and all were answered and even took a few test rides. I went back to shop three more time with more questions and just spent time on several bikes. Never once did I feel any pressure, just honest to goodness service. A week later I called on the bike I wanted and they had it ready to go the next day with no issues. Everyone at the shop was a pro, knew what they were talking about, was super helpful, gave their opinions and just wanted to make sure I was happy. They are my shop for life. read more

I've created a yelp page for this location because they truly deserve it. I promise you all I'm not an employee, but a really happy customer. I'm still fairly new to the cycling world, but the employees and bike mechanics here have been super helpful and patient with me through my visits. I purchased a bike a few months ago for a pretty penny so I want to take very good care of it. I've brought it in for a tuneup and they've done a great job at keeping things in order and educating me on what I need to look out for.
