This place definitely had a unique vibe, but my overall experience was just average. When we arrived it was pretty crowded, which made it hard to really relax and enjoy the visit. The energy was lively, but it felt a bit packed and a little chaotic at times. The smell inside was also a downside for me. It had a strong burned pizza smell that lingered and made the indoor experience less enjoyable than expected. The bathrooms were another issue. They were small and not very easy to get to, which made things inconvenient, especially when the place was busy. The one thing I did really like was the outside atmosphere. Sitting outside had a much better feel with a fun, laid back beach town vibe that fit Tybee Island really well. The pizza was great definitely recommend I just ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was absolutely fantastic. But when we sat down we waited a couple minutes but not too long but the service was great after that so overall the service was pretty good. Well visiting the area and had the craving for pizza. Well a biddy who visits Tybee often suggested here. Glad he did. First the joint itself. What a dive. Crazy looks like it's held together by glue and at the same time cool as anything. Really neat joint. Staff: our server (forgot her name - dam) was so sweet. Joked with us, was very friendly, AND did a great job taking care of us. Now the food: We had the Carnivore. Although we hear the slices are huge - we still went for the whole pizza. We were in total a party of 8 and we were seated quickly outside, which was perfect given the weather. Even though I didn't go into the restaurant the appearance looking in wasn't that great to me so I would suggest sitting outside.My Dad, Brother and I ended up sharing the cheeseburger and meat lovers pizza. I really liked the meat lover's and while I thought the cheeseburger was ok, I wouldn't get it again. I also had a margarita which was good. I stayed in a condo within walking distance and this restaurant/bar was recommended to me. Great recommendation! Definitely had a bit of a locals atmosphere (though not pretentious, nor unwelcoming), but I also believe there were plenty of people from out of town visiting that had also been introduced to this gem. I feel odd saying that we visited this place all three nights we stayed on Tybee Island. Of course, it was due to it's convenient location in relation to where we stayed, but after going on Night 1, we knew we wanted to come back. On two of our visits, we sat at the outside bar and one of the nights, we had dinner (pizza) at a table inside. All three of our visits included friendly and welcoming service. I like the prices and the overall atmosphere. The pizza was pretty good, as well as the drink selection. It was a fun atmosphere in the early evening, as well as late at night! I would definitely visit again when/if we're on Tybee Island. I would recommend to anyone visiting that area. I'd also highly recommend the attached coffee shop next door during the day! read more

We dined at Huc A Poos the first night we were in town. They had designated golf cart parking and that was fun. This is a total dive bar which I loved. We ordered a pizza and it was a 6.2 out of 10. The absolutely, positively best "dive bar/restaurant" on the island. The pizza was amazing & amazingly priced. You can buy pizza by the slice (which is pretty much 1/4 of a pizza). The Pizza is wonderful & the crust was perfect. THE BEST PART......you can get whatever you want ON...ONE.....SLICE. I'm an anchovy guy, but my family can't stand them.......rarely am I able to get a pizza "my way", but not at Huc A Poos........they get me. :) Safety tip........if you want a T-shirt they can be ordered online, but the appear to run about a size smaller than they should. Wow, what an absolute train wreck we saw Wednesday night. Their waiters and bartenders care more about taking shots and vaping behind the bar than taking care of customers. I guess they're getting away with it because it's a pizza bar and no one's saying anything, but I just saw the most unprofessional display. We arrived and decided to just order something to go since they were pretty busy. We weren't sure where to order. Someone told us to order at the first bar, and then he told us we needed to order at the other bar. We walked over to the other, bigger bar. We asked if this was where we ordered pizza, and she was rather nonchalant about it and said, "Yeah, right here," but didn't really give us any further instructions. We ordered, and she said it would be ready in 15 minutes. We waited 20, and nothing. We walked up to the bar, and she didn't even acknowledge us because she was busy talking to who we thought was a customer, but it turned out to be a friend. She had to down a shot with this friend before turning to us and asking what we needed. Our pizzas, perhaps? We looked and realized our pizza had just been sitting there. When we got it, it was cold and not good. The guy at the other bar, I will say, was working super hard and seemed to have way too much on his plate and asked us if we were taken care of. Another guy behind the bar (with the chick) was straight up vaping, and also taking shots and never acknowledged us. He looked super drunk. I'd be kind of pissed if I were the other bartender doing all the work while the other two partied and pissed customers off.
