Tasty, expensive, good service. I had hoped when I went that I could sit outside in hopes of watching the sunset. They seemed to bristle at that, as I was a single person dining alone, hemmed and hawed, and as a polite-people-pleaser often to my own discomfort...I just said seating wherever would be fine. The seafood is certainly fresh, and everything comes out as it is cooked so if you are with a big group entrees may come in waves. Deal with it, lol. I got the crab cakes, which had big chunks of crab god bless, with my sides being mashed potatoes and a seaweed salad (and surprise hushpuppies too). Everything was fresh and tasty, and my watermelon margarita was a great compliment to the meal. I was seated right next to the stage and had just gotten my food when the live music started. That was not ideal and loud and while the small child dancing and spinning around might have been cute for others, I got thwapped a few times by tiny sticky hands. If I'd known the music was going to start while I was there, I would have asked to be seated somewhere a bit further away. The parking lot is also very limited and tiny, so be aware of that if you are driving in. I walked from my airbnb so I didn't have an issue with that. The meal was good and I think I would have a better time if I came with another person. But it was pretty alright.

We are so happy we found AJ's! First, be advised the parking by the restaurant has very few spaces, but there is a larger lot across and down the street. I ordered grilled Mahi with fresh vegetables and their incredible crispy sweet potato waffle fries! My meal was delicious as was my hubby's, the ribeye with shrimp. He said it was an excellent cut and he was so pleased with his choice. We sat outside on the pier and were asked to not feed the birds walking around our feet, hoping for a dropped hush puppy! Our server Marina was friendly and helpful with the menu, and checked on us often to refill our drinks. We highly recommend AJ's when you're visiting Tybee!

Lovely staff that took care of us!! Food was very delicious and came out quickly. Pictured down below are the chicken sandwich and key lime pie. I enjoyed my dinner while my family got fish and seafood for dinner and were satisfied with their meal. I would come back here and would recommend you as well

Just two of use, but We went on a Saturday about 3:30 pm. No wait! Our waitress was fun and upbeat! Food was fresh and hot and timely! We sat outside to overlook the waterfront, and it was warm, but we sat in the shade with fans going, so it was perfect!

This was their homemade keylime pie.

Absolutely adding to our rotation for future visits! PS they don't take reservations. Large place, you won't wait too long and it's worth it. We had our fill of outside time, so opted for indoors (same amazing oceanview & AC!) Had a great table by the window, could see the ocean. Our server Jenna H. was witty, attentive and had excellent menu recommendations. They were out of wings, and she suggested chicken tenders that she would have them baste in the wing sauce. We were in Savannah for my cousin's bachelor party, and there were eight of us. Every meal, a different cousin got to pick where we ate. One afternoon, someone suggested Oakie's because it was close to Tybee Beach. The only thing I had asked all weekend was, "Let's make it a sit-down restaurant." As we pulled into the parking lot, I immediately realized this was a deli--walk up to the counter, order your food, and either take it to go or grab one of the small café-style tables. My cousin walked in first, I followed behind him, and he turned around and looked at me. I just shook my head and said, "Nope... there's nowhere for eight of us to sit. Let's go somewhere else." While everyone debated where to go next, one of my cousins said, "We're wasting time. Let's just grab food here and eat wherever." Best. Decision. We. Made. The. Entire. Trip. I ordered the Turkey Supreme, and while we waited we watched a steady stream of locals and visitors coming in and out. Eventually we all found places to sit and just decided to eat there. Three of us took our first bite, looked at each other, and almost at the same time said, "We're coming back here for breakfast tomorrow before we head home." And that's exactly what we did. We ate here twice in less than 24 hours and couldn't stop talking about how incredible the food was. Fresh ingredients, perfectly made sandwiches, generous portions, and everything was packed with flavor. Sometimes the simplest places end up serving the best food. Oakie's checks every box for what a neighborhood deli should be. Great food, friendly people, quick service, and consistently delicious meals. Yes, latest visit since we also visited June 2025, and gave that visit a 4 star. Let me say there were several issues during this visit. First, they didn't have a common beer available, claiming they ran out of Corona. Now it is a Friday night and you're going into the weekend without one of the most popular beers - just crazy. Next I ordered the Low Country Boil, well after a few minutes another person comes to me as says they have no potatoes for the meal and offered extra sausage to make up the meal. I accepted that. When my meal came out, the server now tells me they owe me 2 more pieces of corn and they would quickly bring that to me. Guess what - never got them. The two pieces I did get were cold - I mean not fully boiled/cooked. Icy cold inside. Now we were with several other couples and one couple had to ask for their drinks a second time. Fact is their meal came out before their first drinks. I have to also mention the men's rooms. I was clearly hadn't been checked or cleaned in a while. Now let's face it, it got screwed up due to nasty guests, but staff really need to check it every so often. Folks I visit Tybee twice a year and there are plenty of options on the island. I think the Zunibar has lost my future business, as well as the 3 other couples we were with. If you choose here you have been warned. I hope you have a better visit.

What you find inside is a nicely appointed restaurant with a beautiful long bar which we highly recommend you eat at. Our bartender Christy was amazing. But more about her later, right now I will talk about the food. We started with the margarita scallops, which was chunks of seared scallops soaked in margarita on toasted wonton chips with a black bean corn, salsa and drizzle with a local aioli, YUM! We also had their fried green tomatoes, which came with apricot horseradish sauce and aoli. Kiki had the catch of the day, which was a grilled piece of grouper atop mediterranean couscous and a medley of mediterranean vegetables. I had the prime rib, which came with lobster Chili Churri butter and a brandy peppercorn sauce. Both entrees were amazing. Now back to our bartender Christie. To say that she wears many hats is an understatement. She greeted us when we sat at the bar, by the way, did I mention that you can reserve seats at the bar? She described the menu items in a way that you only expect to find from a waiter in the finest restaurants in the world. She addressed any and all allergy issues relating to these dishes all the while she is making drinks for patrons at the bar as well as handling the service bar for all the patrons in the restaurant. Without missing a beat, she takes our order.Buses plates from other customers and continues to make drinks for everybody in the restaurant. At this point I think I told her her new nickname should be the Flash. At one point during our dinner, we saw her serve a bottle of wine to another couple at the end of the bar.
