Some of the worst service I have had. Had to ask a different waitress for condiments cause ours kept forgetting and never got part of my order even after asking multiple waitresses multiple times. A great "hole in the wall" place, as they say. Don't be fooled by the cooks running around, *some of* the waitresses looking like they're on *insert hard drug here*, or the fact that it might seem like any old down-south diner-- this place has great food. I always get the MVP Breakfast, and you can't go wrong with it. A golden pancake, 3 pieces of bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, and toast, (choice of biscuits and gravy or grits and toast), but I always substitute the grits and toast for double toast). The food is always out in 10-14 minutes from the time of ordering, and in the 10+ times of going to this Huddle House location, there has only been one or two times that my food wasn't great-- one of which times my pancake was not fully cooked on the inside. Even then, the cook did not seem annoyed. He took it back personally and made me another one, which was great. The Huddle Burger is also a great choice, which goes to show that breakfast or dinner is a safe choice here. All in all, the Cape Girardeau Huddle House is a great location to come at any time of the day for a great breakfast, lunch, or dinner. read more

Road tripping across this great land, the family and I decided to Dunkin here for a late breakfast. Expecting Denny's, we were actually pleasantly surprised, especially after reading several marginal reviews of this chain restaurant. Prices were pretty reasonable, and big portions kept everyone at the table happy. Free waffle Wednesday was a nice bonus... For every six bucks you spend, you get a free waffle. Our server was patient, attentive to the kids, and expeditious. Nothing fancy about this placement on everything arrived hot, smothered in country gravy, and with that little bit of southern flair that you would expect here, and not in Seattle. Order an iced tea, and you'll field a question from the server, "regular or sweet tea?" Granted, for a restaurant that never closes, I can see that this place might be a different experience around the witching hour after the bars close, but for a SoCal family just passing through, it was positive all around. read more

The prices are great. The food is good diner food. I did receive pretty terrible service at this location. The other locations have great employees! The chili is terrific. They have awesome specials, like biscuits and gravy for just a couple of bucks. I usually get an omelet with chili, cheese and onions (not on the menu, but it is fantastic). read more

We were seated in the restaurant and the place smelled very foul. When we sat down and were given our drinks, at least 6 people from a table of ten had something in their drink, or had a barely washed cup. Not to mention the drinks were beyond flavorless. Looking at the restaurant, the seats, tables and floors were covered with crumbs and dust, hinting that the restaurant is not properly cleaned. The food we payed for was not well. The hash browns were burnt on one side and uncooked on the other. The "fresh" fruit was clearly brown and slimy. The pancakes had no flavor, and someone even found numerous hair strands in their food. The quality of the food overall did not even reach mediocracy, and when we asked for refunds or to have our grossly prepared food sent back, their servers responded with poor attitudes. read more

Really wanted pancakes for breakfast, myself, wife and son had breakfast here and was disappointed when I learned they didn't have pancakes. Server told me they didn't have pancakes yesterday or today.. WHY??? So you run out of pancakes fixings, you go get the fixings before the next days breakfast, but no.. had biscuits and gravy. The night shift is absolutely fantastic. They are always fast and clean and kind. Nabila can run this place like no other. Seriously, if she isn't there, it's not worth going. Day shift is an absolute train wreck. The place is always disgusting, slow, and careless. My last visit was Thanksgiving day because they were the only place open after I got off work besides McDonald's. 20 minutes to get my drink order, another 15 for food order. People who arrived after my partner and I had already finished eating and left even though we had the same server. After having waited for 50 minutes since walking in the door, a roach runs across the table. I bring it to management's attention, all they did was say "sorry" and turn back towards doing dishes. Location / Atmosphere - A typical breakfast diner. Very friendly staff. We happened to come-in on one for the first sunny Sundays of the year. Apparently there were several events in the area as well. Busy morning for this Huddle House. Every seat in the house was full. Food / Beverage - Everything on the menu sounded excellent. Everything that we had was cooked well. No problems with the food or beverage. Service - Over and above the crowd, we had to wait under 5 minutes for a table. Our food order took a bit longer given the crowd. Although the staff kept us happy with conversation and kept the coffee flowing. They were even pologetic for the wait as we went to pay and were leaving. In summary - Very pleasant meal and start to a day of travel. Suggest you stop in when in the area. read more

So frustrating I'd give zero stars if I could. This was my first ever time at any Huddle House, We went today and it was really busy. No worries it's Sunday after church so I get that. I had my children with me who are all under 6. I got 3 kids meals and an omelette and juice. We waited a really really long time, no worries again it's busy I get that. A few minutes into getting our meal my 4 year old needed to use the restroom. I walked him to the bathroom and took everything one work me because kids can't be left unattended at a table. We were not gone but 3 minutes and when we got back to the table a different waitress was clearing our table. Our full plates of food were taken away, my juice was still full. She did apologize profusely which I appreciated, and offered to put in a new order of food for us but at that point we had already been waiting so long that I couldn't wrangle hungry kids for another 25 minutes. I totally get accidents happen, and I told her we would just go. I was still charged $57.00 for the food. Full price for food that we didn't eat because it got taken away. When I complained to my waitress who saw everything, and she took off 20% in what world is this acceptable service?! I still paid $38 plus tip for food we took 3 whole bites of. I wasn't going to be the jerk who argues with a teenager behind the register but I'm so disappointed with this service. Maybe this is on me for having to leave my table for a few minutes to let my child use the restroom but I will not be back ever. read more

Maybe I'm getting old and crotchety but waiting 45 minutes to an hour for food and then it coming out ice cold is not my idea of a great meal. There were so many tables that were waiting on food, asking their waitress to check on their food that it was ridiculous! We sent back the plate that was cold and ask them to remake it. Two seconds later the waitress brought back the plate of food and said I just went ahead and microwaved it for you. Um no.....either re make it or take it off my bill. Obviously they were not interested in re making it as she quickly brought the check out and had subtracted the dish from the bill. I went to pay the bill and use my HH rewards app only to be told they aren't set up for that there. I got the information about the app from THIS location!!! As we were leaving our waitress was telling a table next to us (who was complaining about the wait) that our food was messed up which is what made theirs take so long. I don't think so!! ‍ Upon leaving the restaurant we see that they have now posted a sign on the door. Must of had several dissatisfied customers!! Server Baylee should be advised to wear a mask properly and not under her chin. Especially when handling food and talking while handling. Servers should be made aware of the science that when talking droplets are released and could land on food. If a mask is worn properly this can be avoided. I hate the feeling of worrying about my food being contaminated with COVID because my server was not considerate. The wait is longer then it should have been and the staff seemed to be having a good old time talking and laughing behind the counter instead of trying to get the orders out. This huddle house always has really great service. The food has been okay, but last night they really hit it out of the ballpark. We sat down, our waitress came right over and took our order. We got our food within 10 minutes. And it was the best burger I've ever had from there. It was juicy and messy and cooked perfectly. They were out of pancakes, which seems to be the case more often than not. We placed our order. And waited over an hour for our food. When our food finally came, both of our cheeseburgers were missing cheese and the lettuce for mine was just a piece of the core. The server did bring a cold slice of cheese to put on my burger. This is the most stunning five star dining establishment in southeast Missouri. I just have no teeth to explain the way I feel about you huddle house ... your waffles make me want to move out of my two bedroom and sleep beneath the fryers with the grease crinkling above me.
