This is a great place to eat. Today we had lunch but most of our visits are for breakfast eats. I am a huddle house club member so we get discounts and also coupons in the newspaper. The staff members are always very friendly. The food is served fresh and hot and has nice portions. With the coupons and discounts we have lunch or big breakfasts for both at 12 - 15 $. We get big breakfasts with 3 eggs and biscuits and gravy and a waffle, and sausage and bacon for $8.50. You can't beat this much good food for that kind of price. Today's lunch for two that is pictured costs $12.26 with water to drink. What a great deal! Nice and cool in the summer and nice and warm in the winter. It's a regular stop for us. I'd rather Huddle with Tom Brady (or Rodgers or Kaepernick or Tyrod or Kaepernick or really any of them that aren't named Manning and did I mention Kaepernick). Actually, I really love this Huddle House. The bathrooms are fine and while the food isn't great, it is comprable to Waffle House and I have a lot of good memories, both from this location and in general across the country. It's much less common than a waffle house and it sounds much more cuddly. They have a very similar menu - I think it was copied. I gotta say... I liked it. This place reminds me of a Denny's or an IHOP, but it's better. The waitress actually took notes on the order and everything came out exactly as requested. Quality food compared to the previously mentioned restaurants, and conveniently situated right near a nice RV park. Overall, definitely worth a visit. read more

After attending this establishment a few times in the past couple of days, I really like it. I tried a few different things on the menu. Everything was prepared fresh, came to the table hot, and my drinks never ran dry. I'm sort of a stickler about that. A server may not be able to control what the kitchen does, but if they can keep things like your drinks and other needs attended to, I'll always tip big. They were spot on everyday. Also, they are very friendly and attentive to your time tables. Say if you're on a schedule and kinda in a hurry, they are quick to accommodate from my experience. My only reason for not giving a five star is the inattention of the front counter. I didn't fully believe this to be a fault of the staff as it is positioned in such a way that if the sever is standing in the kitchen doing things for her tables, she may not be aware that someone is standing there. People today are far more impatient and grandiose about service than I feel that they have ever been in my lifetime. I see this as a potential choke point for complaints and should be addressed by management. The girls did a great job, but there are only two of them and many times, it's difficult to break contact with your tables and get up to the counter. Just my observation. Huddle house is connected to the Flying J. Honestly speaking the breakfast was super good despite the horrible reviews. We were hungry so we stopped due to little choice to park a motor home. Upon walking into the entrance the floor was absolutely filthy. It wouldn't take much to mop and sweep. They obviously don't keep up on reviews. I did not notice a smell. I would have rated this 5 stars but it's hard to get past that entrance. The server was sweet and accommodating but wearing a mask despite the filthy conditions. the huddle House one of the most heavily trafficked ones I have seen.. 2009 Flying J decides to get rid of all of their restaurants which were country markets and some became Denny's some nothing and some became huddle houses.. out here on the plains in emporia Kansas roughly a hundred miles from Kansas City a hundred miles from Wichita give or take as the crow flies it became an immediate hit.. this place has a huge local clientele it is also located where there are lots and lots of packing houses and beef plants out here in Kansas where you are the times have to wait for a load if you pull a refrigerated trailer.. anybody that pulls meet knows a lot of times that stuff ain't done. so a lot of times in the parking lot more of the often you might see loads and loads of bobtails which are trucks without trailers or driver just go down and get out of the plant cuz he wants to stay around some stinky old plant with flies everywhere..childer's quite a bit of is I like to call bobtail sometimes outnumbering tractor-trailers passing through.. 2011 huddle House became hear the funny part is when you look at this place you would think it was 20 years old because after Country market got out of business it remained vacant for a little bit of time and then they remodeled it into a huddle House but that was only in late 2011 as you can see some of these pictures there been so many butts that have slit in and out of these padded seats and less than 10 years and the carpet is so worn because it is such a money maker.. there are 3 huddle houses; Indiana one in Georgia 1 in Oklahoma that are armpits..lol I refuse to name the locations but I will just simply say I will not eat there they are in Pilot Flying J's but they are not worth a damn.. hear the service can be a little bit slow not inconsistent but sometimes he gets slammed and understaffed but the quality is very very good.there's not a lot of flies in here which is surprising they do a good job at keeping them out for the most part. although sometimes you have to wait a little bit if there's only a cook around in the waitresses are out smoking because most of the people around here do I should know because I'm an ex-smoker I quit in 2015 almost 5 years ago January. and also I used to go out there and have a puff with the waitresses in the cooks so I know how it is.. some travelers are definitely dismayed when they walk in they give the classic ick..not my kind of place turn their nose up and walk out. what I will say though is the floors can use a lot more maintenance as far as cleaning and sweeping a lot of times they don't get to that too much and sometimes two tables don't get cleaned off promptly however again this is such a high traffic area and it's farmland farm country and it's not five-star dining.. it's good old-fashioned Blue collar country with blue collar comfort food I'll just the way the georgia-based chain began in 1964 to give waffle House a run for their money which it started about eight years prior in 55. I had two meals here I had a dinner which was fantastic I had the chicken fried steak with french fries with country gravy on both some buttered corn a biscuit which wasn't that good it was like they knew could have been out for a while but it was all right I had plenty of food. and a diet Pepsi I was quite pleased with the service very satisfied came and had breakfast and next morning had the SmokeHouse platter which is a little more than your hearty platter instead of Jester classic two eggs grits or hash browns choice of toast or biscuit along with your meat you got the double meat. so I got four slices of crispy applewood bacon and two sausage patties. everything was excellent I will definitely come back here although I'm just still surprised that only eight years how worn down and showing you how much traffic comes through this place it didn't take very long it could definitely use a remodel I highly doubt it's going to get it but it's definitely a good place to eat.. and if you're stuck here for a night you can walk right next door into the Flying J part and get yourself a cold one and settle in for the night. or sometimes get yourself a steak here and just get it to go they do have to-go orders they do have App ordersthey also have waffle Wednesday.. you can have the waffle added to a meal for free for anything over 7 bucks Monday and Tuesday's kids can eat free when an adult purchases and entree over $6. you can receive one free kids meal. the only drawback that I have to hear is the fact that there's no plugs if you like to plug in and charge up your apparatuses you can't do it here there's no plugs at all maybe if they have a remodel they will get it..also there's no wi-fi you have to use the pilot wifi which is not the greatest unless you pay for the premium read more

Outside of being located in a truck stop, Huddle House is worth the drive and location. Their waffles taste like they were made with cake batter. These are the best waffles I have had, to date! And as random as it may sound, I love their green beans more than anything else! They keep late hours, and offer breakfast, burgers, chicken strips, etc. Sometimes it is hard to find staff, as they tend to sometimes sit around or disappear for long periods of time, but I always have a wonderful experience when I am there. read more

This is the first time coming to this place. It seems that everything has bacon on it, could be a good thing or a bad thing! I had to make me something that was not on the menu. I had three egg whites tomatoes cheese onions and bell peppers oh and let's not forget the mushrooms. I also had hashbrowns and two slices of bacon! Sat down at a dirty table waiting for a waitress to clean it and come take our order. One waitress dropped fresh salt and pepper so they knew we were there but didn't even acknowledge that they would be back or that someone was on their way. We ordered chili cheese fries they were AWESOME!!! But when I got my philly cheese sandwich the toast was BLACK!! Extremely burnt I had to send it back so that was another 10 minutes of waiting. This place is OVERDUE for new management and remodeling. Waitresses wear long sleeves to hide the needle marks. The place is DIRTY and appears to never been cleaned.
