I give this breakfast joint a 8.2 out of 10. In town to visit my daughter at college and decided to try this since it looked like a waffle house. I ordered the MVP breakfast and it was forsure a mop meal. Eggs cooked sunny side up to perfection, hasbrowns nice and crisp, needed some salt, but perfect, waffle had a nice hint of vanilla which made it enjoyable to eat without syrup and the final item of biscuits and gravey hit the spot. Gravy had nice pepper flavor with enough sausage to make each bit perfect. Non of that flour tasting gravy here. I would forsure come back the the next time I'm in town over cracker barrel. read more

On a recent Sunday we were heading back to Louisville from a weekend in Huntington, WV, we decided to stop along the way to grab first-of-the-day food. A little late for breakfast but a little early for lunch. Noticed the Huddle House signs along the expressway and decided to stop in at this location. We've eaten at a couple other locations and this was right along the way, so it wasn't a hard decision. This location is pretty easy to get to once you get off the highway. Parking isn't too bad (it was a little packed because it was Sunday morning, but that's to be expected) and we walked right in without having to wait outside. This place was HOPPING. Every table was occupied and there were a few people waiting, but we didn't have to wait but about five minutes before we grabbed a table. The staff here is amazing. Yes, it was busy as hell and Yes it was chaotic, but every single person that was working was moving along to keep the food flowing. Servers taking orders and getting drinks, one person doing dishes, cooks making food with a constant stream of orders, and tables being bussed seconds after they were vacated. This was organized mayhem at its best and I loved every second of it. Our server (whose name I didn't get) was awesome. Even though it was complete madness, she took the time to answer any questions we had and to make helpful suggestions. She then want back into the melee of getting our drinks and taking care of the customers. She tried to bring us other people's orders a couple times, but then she paused and went "Wait, this isn't yours! It's theirs!" and delivered the orders to a nearby table. She was a riot. Even with the craziness that was this place, our food took only about 10 minutes and was hot, fresh, and accurate. Our server checked back a couple times to see if we needed anything and how it was going, but we were fine. Should we ever travel this way again I can see us visiting this Huddle House again. What??? Four stars for a Huddle House, a place that just hustles up burgers, fries, and breakfasts - 24 hours a day? Yes. The Huddle House in Morehead is an excellent value, serving all the standards, hot and in sufficient quantity to satisfy your appetite, early in the morning, throughout the peak hours, and late at night. The things this location has going for it is its neatness, rapid service and an exceptionally friendly staff. I've visited many times and never been disappointed. Well-done Morehead Huddle House. The waitress took our order, and did not come back to our table after that. A cook dropped it off. The burger was fine, but the buns were not toasted like they should be. This place is pretty much like a waffle house: breakfast and simple burgers/dinners. The food was pretty average; edible but not spectacular. We came here looking for a late night dinner, but breakfast and dinner are served all day. I opted for a country fried steak. It came with 2 sides, most of which were potatoes. I chose mashed potatoes with gravy and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were awesome and would make a great appetizer. If I could give a zero star review I would this was absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had one the floors where absolutely disgusting as was the tables the menu selection was less than impressive we ordered a roasted turkey sandwich with fries a burger with tots and our son got chicken strips and fries and we each got a pop when our food finally came out my sandwich had cold square lunch meat turkey and brown lettuce and the they mixed my fries up for tots my husbands burger had brown lettuce as well barely any bacon and looked like the nacho cheese was old and smelled funny and he got my fries which where so hard u couldn't eat them my son ate his strips said they where good but he didn't eat the fries because they where so hard we told them to take our two plates back and take off bill which they did the lady was then slightly rude about having to get my son another pop and when we got our bill our pops and his strips we ended up paying 27 dollars for it how ridiculous can you be we will never be back there to eat and when we was leaving my son went to the bathroom I walked him over an u have to pass the kitchen to do so and I looked in and the floor was covered in old food broken eggs and shells it was disgusting I do not recommend going to this place save your money and go elsewhere read more

I have been going there for years. The quality has been steadily going down hill. Except for the table tops, it appears that it hasn't had a good cleaning for months. Floor feels greasy. Service is spotty--it seems that for the last year or so, I haven't seen the same server twice. Some servers are frankly sullen. Biscuits are inedible--so hard can barely cut with a knife. Syrup is not SYRUP, just sweetened water; so thin it immediately soaks into your waffle and turns it into a soggy pile of glop. Last night, I asked for eggs "over easy"; they came out nearly raw. I asked for water three times; never got it. Used to think of Huddle House as the "poor man's Cracker Barrel." Not any more. Will Not be going back until someone tells me things have improved. read more

Was in Morehead today looking for something different and chose Huddle House, first off the table looked like it was wiped down but they must have done it with a dirty rag because the table was dry. Waitress seemed nice at first but she slacked the rest of the time. I ordered the southwestern bowl and after waiting 25 to 30 minutes they brought it out. They didn't put tomatoes or southwestern sauce on it. Had to ask for refills and she never brought the check so my daughter went to pay for it and they asked if we left a tip at the table or how much of a tip to add to the bill. She said she wasn't leaving a tip for bad service and they never showed a bill or would not give a receipt but told her how much it was and she told the cashier that sounds a little high and she couldn't get a receipt because they need it for their record. We figured they added about an eight dollar tip without an authorization. Corporate office has been contacted and this will be disputed with the bank. Customers beware read more

The waitress was rude and rushed you in ordering from the moment you sat down, and was hateful if you were indecisive and wanted to take your time. I was delighted at the breakfasts here. I haven't tried anything else. But the Smothered Southern Breakfast is guaranteed to fill you up. Plus they serve it whenever they are open--none of this crap about no breakfast after 10:30 am. The only people who want these huge breakfasts are people who work really hard for a living, who like them around 6 am, or else students, stoners, and steatopygian tourists, of which latter group I am a proud member. Absolutely the best breakfast in town! I just came from there and I have to say, out of all the local eateries I've visited in the last few months, this is the BEST service I've had lately. I called ahead and placed my order, arriving probably less than 10 minutes after my call. I was promptly greeted and invited to sit and wait for my order. I was offered something to drink while I waited, even had two other waitresses ask if I had been served. The food itself was absolutely superb, the bacon was to the perfect crispness, the eggs cooked EXACTLY how I had requested, and as always, the most perfect waffles one can imagine.......I will DEFINITELY be back, and will HIGHLY recommend this place to all of my friends and colleagues! Went inside at 2:45am. Wanted coffee to drown out the taste of a long monday. Coffee tasted like muddy water, but thats my favorite flavor so it was ok. Asked for chili and got it still in the can. The can was partially burnt, best chili I've ever had. Reminds me of the waffle house I went to in downtown louisville where I got robbed. Didn't get robbed here. Pleasantly surprised. Won't be eating at the huddle house any more, the cook sneezed and didn't wash his hands and then the waitress brought us our food and there was a huge hair in our bacon so I of course sent it back and she told the guy who made it and he rolled his eyes. The guy kept going back in the back even when he had orders she could barely keep him up front cooking. When we left we saw it had an 88% rating for cleanliness if we had noticed that before we went in we wouldn't have ate there. read more
