I don't know what all the negative reviews are about. But this place is one of my husband's favorites to dine at when we visit my parents. The first time we went was over 10 years ago and as soon as this trip was being planned, my husband already told me we had to make a stop. This place is a typical greasy spoon. You walk in and find your own seat. There's an open kitchen so you can see everything that goes on behind the counter. My husband and I were waited on right away. I ordered the chicken fried steak with grits. My husband got the steak and eggs with a waffle. Everything was cooked fresh and tasted great. I have no complaints. The steaks were both a little thin but for the price we paid it was a good deal. The biscuits were delicious. And like always the waffle was a star. My husband even says that they're waffle is better than Waffle House.! read more

I stopped there this morning since we were off and got a chance to try honey butter biscuits. It's new on the menu and I was pleasantly surprised. They were very tasty. the customer service is trash. me and my friend had a 30 minute conversation and never got our order taken. i had to ask to get my order taken! one of these people didnt have on gloves. my dad sat there for longer than i did and hadnt gotten his order taken until 2025. this place is absolute boo boo. All the tables were dirty and on three were being occupied. There was a little girl who seemed to be around 7 or 8 picking up the dishes and trash on the tables. We sat for 10 min at a dirty table and weren't acknowledged not once except by the little girl who brought me a menu. There is 14 customers in here. 2 waitresses and one cook. I don't see where they are that busy. I'm sure my tip will reflect the service. Really should have read the reviews prior to stopping here. It took 15 minutes for our group to be acknowledged, and that was only after one of us going to the counter and asking for menus. Another 10 minutes to order drinks, and another 5 to place the order. 2 cooks, but very slow. Took another 15 minutes for food to arrive (some of which were cold). Staff was nice and friendly, but we did not plan on losing this much time here. Bottom line, if you're on any type of schedule, don't stop here. read more

So me and my daughter were driving down I-20 returning back to TX from AL and decided we would stop in LA for our meal. Huddle House caught my daughter's eye as a new place to try so we took the exit. I want to say something nice about Huddle House. I like the exterior of the restaurant, the red logo is appealing. And they get a gold star for delicious sweet ice tea. Okay. I'm going to write an honest review of our experience. My feelings were trepidation. The staff needs to give their entire restaurant a deep cleaning. I prayed hard over the food before we ate. Huddle House is so dirty. My daughter's feelings were mostly anger. She was disgusted by most of her MVP breakfast and could hardly eat it. She started texting me commentary from her side of the table and I was doubling over with laughter. My cheeseburger was a hard little preformed patty that was barely edible. My tater tots were hard and my plate didn't look completely clean. My daughter was overwhelmed by the gigantic butter blobs her pancake and grits were delivered with. Nothing tasted good. We couldn't finish a single thing . Except the sweet iced tea. Service is terrible, since we arrived we have watched (4) groups up customers get up and leave without getting their food. We have been waiting for over an hour for bacon and eggs. Cooks are talking, earring, and drinking in front of the cook tops rather than cooking food. As a small business owner I am appalled at the lack of urgency of the cooks and manager. read more

Honest, affordable, good southern breakfasts. This place reminds me of the Waffle House, except I will actually eat here. It's in the middle of nowhere ( and I don't use that word lightly). It was hunting season when we came, so everyone was decked out in their camo... a different scene from that of Silicon Valley... refreshing and scary all at the same time. Huddle House was founded in 1964 by John Sparks. One evening in Decatur, Georgia, he saw a boy meeting friends after football practice holding his helmet in one hand and a football in the other. It looked as if the group were "huddled up" talking and laughing together. It was at that moment he decided that Huddle House was the perfect name for the restaurant chain. It looks a lot like a Waffle House but instead of it being yellow and brown it's red and brown. This location was spotless! Many of these side of the road breakfast houses are a bit on the sticky side. The service was great. The cook even can to the table to explain a broken egg. The bacon was cooked perfectly - I don't care for bacon leather. Yet the rest of the food was very greasy! If your in the mood for a hearty inexpensive breakfast stop by. read more

Before I dive into this review let me clear the air and let everybody know that I do enjoy the Waffle house and Huddle House. I eat both often. With that said the food at this Huddle House is pathetic. It might be terrible. To give credit where it's due the service was very good. The food was not edible. We rolled into here at 6am sharp and were served right away. The sweet tea, coffee and water was good, but unfortunately the rest of it slid downhill. Keep in mind we were here for breakfast, which is the easiest meal of the day to make. It was botched bad. I took one bite of everything on my plate and stopped eating. The eggs were more watery than the Mississippi River. My hash browns were crispier than a cheeto. And the bread that I had reminded me that stuff my gramma used to buy in the five day old section at the grocery store - the stuff priced at .99 cents. I wish this wasn't the case, but it was and my friend sitting next to me had the same experience. I'm not sure why they even served it to us, but we paid the bill and went fishing. read more

With a thin divide of maybe 10 inches between the back cooking area and the aligning tables....everything that was on the mind of these workers became info for us-boyfriend issues, roommate problems, and dare i say, health situations. Love this place. Fluffiest, most flavorful omelets, very homey feel and affordable prices. I've always loved the philly cheese steak omelet and its usually so big that I can't finish it. It has a buttery taste, the meat is flavorful and tender. I always try to stop here whenever I'm passing through Ruston. read more

So, a few weeks ago my husband and I decided that we would start having breakfast together out of the house away from the kids and the TVs and video games and computers just to spend some quality time together, just him and me. Since we don't have an IHOP, Cracker Barrel or any other decent place near us, we chose Huddle House. We went into the restaurant and as we were entering a large group of women were leaving. The waitress clearly saw us come in because we had to pass her to get to the place where we sat. An elderly couple was sitting across from us. He had a glass of OJ and she had a glass of milk. They had yet to be served any food at that point. Over 45 minutes went by before we finally decided to get up and leave. The waitress never came by to address us. She never came to offer us drinks or anything. The couple next to us weren't addressed either for their orders. To make the night even WORSE, we went to Waffle House instead. Not only did they mess up the order, the food was awful! I can't even begin to express how irritated I was. And to top all of that off, I tweeted them, they asked me to DM my email address to which they never responded. #justDisgusted read more

Ben here a hundred times, and they never fail to impress. For less than $20, you can get a great, solid meal for two people. I have tried nearly everything they have, and must say that the staff here is able to whip up nearly anything you want, menu item or not. It's a great place for a late night grub-attack, and is quite possibly one of three places you can go in Ruston after 11:00 PM. I petsonally suggest the Waffle Platter, with sausage and eggs, over easy. P.S.: Tip your Waitresses, they work hard and get crappy pay. Placed a curbside pick up order at the Ruston location. Arrived at the location and called several times yet no one answered. I went inside to get my order only to receive half my order. I told the lady that this was not all of the order she said that was all that printed on the ticket. After telling her what all I did order she said they did not receive the complete order. I requested a refund only to be told that she couldn't give me a refund that her district manager would have to do that. I asked her to call the district manager. She called Lewis her district manager and explained to him that they did not receive the complete order. I asked to speak with him and explained everything to him again. I asked for his number so I could text him my order number and online receipt. I sent him the information and asked for a refund. The district manager (Lewis) tells me that he would have to see. Please tell me what kind of answer is that. I don't want half the order I want my refund. If your business is not equipped to take online orders than it needs to be removed. If your business can't provide curbside it needs to be removed. No I can't wait for the rest of my order because I ordered curbside and you all didn't come out to bring it. No I can't wait for the rest of my order because that means what was ready would be cold. No I can't wait for the rest of my order because your customer service is poor. This is the first and last Huddle House I will ever go to. I went in for a quick waffle and side of bacon to go. I was given a 10 mins wait timeframe. Since they were steady I didn't say anything until 30 mins had passed. When I asked how much longer I was told they were busy and do not give out timeframes. I had already been given a timeframe which passed 20 mins prior. Miraculously my food was ready 1 minute later. It wasn't hot or even warm. So it has been ready for a while and just sitting. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because the food wasn't bad. It was only a waffle and bacon but it was pretty good. The service put a bad taste in your mouth though. read more

I had been to Waffle House the week before and wanted to try out the HH too to have an accurate comparison. I love breakfast for dinner so this was perfect. However, the waitress was not helpful and didn't understand how I wanted my eggs (sunny side up) which then came out raw and only half-cooked. The hash browns were good and I loooooved the nutter butter milkshake (which then made me go to walmart & buy some of these darn delicious cookies). I was kinda disappointed the prices are more than Waffle House but then again the portions are bigger here so I guess it evens out. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll go back. read more
