a plate of food in a styrofoam container

If I can give this place a -0 I would. I found hair in my food, And to make matters worse, when I try to call back, the person that picked up, hung up on me, after I asked to speak to a Manager. I called back several times and no one picked up. I was very Skeptical about ordering food, during this pandemic. Then to get hair in my food, makes everything questionable.

    Authentic Dominican breakfast.

It's Sunday morning and I was craving mangu. I stumbled on to this place with someone on the sidewalk saying this is best Dominican food in West New York! He said they are open 7 days a week and serve mangu all day! I was in there! I had the mangu, 2 fried eggs topped with seasoned red onions, salami and fried cheese ($4.99; the price was right!). It was an authentic tasty Dominican breakfast! I topped it off with a Tamarind juice and a cafe con leche . This is a neighborhood spot so don't expect cloth folded napkins. However, the place was clean and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it if you live around the area.

The food is good but their service is horrible, especially when it comes to delivery, it took an hour for me to get my food,

For starters, they have free 1-hour parking (with validation) right next door which is a huge perk! Second, they're cash only. Third, this is definitely a local spot and despite a slight language barrier, the staff were incredibly warm & friendly. We ordered the Grande Pan con Bistec w Queso which is their large steak sandwich. We decided to split it and ended up ordering another sandwich midway through because it was that good. The sandwich is simple - steak, fries, onions, and cheese. The bread was the perfect texture and thickness, the steak was plentiful, the fries were salty & crispy, and the onions were tangy & bright. They're also known for their smoothies so we got two. Mamey is a tropical fruit tree native to southern Mexico and Central America. The flavor is closest to a melon, sweet potato, and caramel. I enjoyed this one but it's definitely on the sweeter side. Guanabana is soursop which is more custardy, sweet like banana and tangy like pineapple. I absolutely loved this one! This meal was so simple yet so satisfying. I highly recommend checking them out!

What an excellent spot!…read more I've been here a few times - both for just drinks and most recently for dinner. The vibes here are excellent - the space is beautifully decorated, clean, and the outdoor patio is gorgeous, especially in the summertime. The cocktails are all extremely creative and delicious (although I do think a little on the weak side). The last time I was here was for a birthday dinner. We were a large party of 8 women, and all the staff was very accommodating towards us. The food/drinks came out quickly, and they even gave my friend a big ol' birthday celebration complete with a firework candle and a light-up sign. The food is pretty decent - Spanish and Hispanic mostly, with a Caribbean flair. Standouts were the coconut shrimp (which came on a clothes hanger), the steak and tostones, and the ropa vieja. The only real downside of Don Coqui is the price of everything. The bill (with a 20% tip added for a large party) was just shy of 600 dollars, and this was for a table of appetizers and cocktails. Also, the valet parking for 15 dollars is wild, especially when there is a free lot available mere steps away. if you're feeling a little bougie, this is a great spot to grab a drink and get some great photos!
