And we're back! Only this time for a completely different production with another one of my favs. Every Brilliant Thing was a moving play focused on mental health. Mariska Hargitay stared in the one person show and being that she is our idol/role model, we booked a mom's day out to see our Queen shine. Once again, the theater ran like a well oiled machine. The staff gave great direction on how to find our seats and the intimate setting made the show that much more immersive. read more

Fun fact- this theater was Built in 1902 and it's one of Broadways oldest Surviving Venues. The history of it is quite interesting, the man who originally owned it passed away in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912 and then was taken over by his wife. Over the years it's went through many transitions, it was once a nightclub, a movie theater, radio studio and television studio and was not used for Broadway shows until 2017. I came here last week to watch Every Brilliant Thing with Daniel Radcliffe as the performer- he himself was absolutely outstanding as a single man performer. There is a bar in the lobby once you enter, we had front row tickets on the dress circle level that also had its own bar and bathroom area- the bathrooms are pretty small here with only two stalls. I found the seats to also be pretty comfortable and mg back was not throbbing by the end of the show which it usually does when watching shows at these venues. There isn't much glitz and glam within the theater itself but it's still a pretty nice place to go watch a show. The stage door is on the next street over where there is a lobby area you can cross through to get over there. read more

We had the pleasure of seeing a very good play here in this historic and one of New York's oldest theaters. The theater was built in 1902-1903. It has 970 seats on three levels. We sat on the main floor and we had a great view. Our play was titled "Burn This" and starred Adam Driver and Keri Russell and a it took place in the 1980's. My daughter and I really enjoyed the play and getting a meet and greet with both stars after the show. We both were able to have our playbooks signed by Adam and Keri and they were very friendly and accommodating. What I found interesting is that Henri B. Harris was the original operator of this theater but he perished in the sinking of the Titanic. His widow Renee Harris survived and a continued to operate the theater until the Great Depression. There was a lot of Titanic themed pictures on the wall in the lobby area. I loved learning this fact as I am a huge fan of the history and story of The Titanic. A great theater to see a show in NYC. read more

Seating is comfortable, and the sightlines are excellent from most sections. The theater is cozy but elegant, making it great for both musicals and plays. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the location in the Theater District is very convenient for a night out. Came to see Waiting For Godot, starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winters, at 7pm on December 30, 2025. It was a great performance, and the theater staff have been wonderful! Even though I have a QR code, I went to the box office to get a physical ticket. I sat in Orchestra D 104, and bought my ticket over a month in advance to avoid the price increases. Chatted with a really sweet gal who worked at the merch booth when I was buying a magnet before the show started, and she complimented my Samurai Jack jacket and said she hoped I would approach her because she loves Samurai Jack and that era of Cartoon Network. We geeked over Samurai Jack, Teen Titans, Cartoon Network, and of course, she talked about the cast and how everyone is amazing. Keanu and Alex haven't been stage dooring, but if one is lucky, they MIGHT catch a glimpse of them walking out the theater. Apparently, they stopped stage-dooring because Keanu has had stalkers who ruined it for everyone. If you search Reddit, you'll find links to the video of the crazy lady who calls herself Keanu's "divine wife" and chased after his car and tried to open the car door AS IT WAS PULLING AWAY, to the point that 3 security guards had to force her off the door and throw her to the ground. I don't blame Keanu one bit for not coming out to interact with fans afterwards. Regardless of his celebrity status, that must have been a terrifying incident! I'm so grateful I got to see Keanu and Alex perform live from such amazing seats! read more

Came here to see "Every Brilliant Thing" in late February. Friday evening show. It was cold outside and unfortunately they didn't open the doors as scheduled. Normally it's 1 hour/50 minutes before showtime, but they opened 30 minutesIt felt rushed. I had access to the "platinum lounge" and I wouldn't recommend it. The drinks were cheaply made. Pure water. I even watched him dilute the cosmo with water. The staff in the theater were helpful and the show was "brilliant". I personally didn't think the seats were too smushed together, but I had an aisle seat. read more

The Hudson Theatre impressed us from the moment we arrived. The entrance staff was incredibly organized, making the crowds move smoothly and stress-free. Inside, the theater staff went above and beyond--they even helped me track down my lost cell phone, which I was sure was gone forever. Truly outstanding service. Our end-row seats were easy to access, which made getting in and out a breeze, and the acoustics were excellent--every line was crystal clear. Amazing classic Broadway venue. Located right at Times Square on 44th. This historic theater has been home to many A-list stars and top performances. It's a medium sized auditorium where it feels intimate and close to the stage. I was in row D on the Dress Circle (middle balcony) and had an excellent view. It was an absolute blast to see Keanu on stage with Bill&Ted pal Alex Winter performing Waiting for Godot. They even sneaked in an air guitar reference, which had the entire audience burst out in laughter. Highly recommend theater and play. Got tickets at the box office 2 hours before showtime and paid less than online portals. Got really lucky that there were a few seats left at that point. read more

Don't recall when I was at this theater last, though it's not a huge theater. The theater entrance is on W. 44 St between 6th and Broadway. We went to see the show "Waiting for Godot" starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter directed by Jamie Lloyd. Had tickets to the last rows, even though the seats are comfortable and there was enough room to let someone past while standing up, I was grateful that I got to semi-stand when I got tired of sitting. The staircase to the balcony is a hike up marble staircase. The women's restrooms were located in the basement (couldn't tell you how many stalls; when I saw the line I immediately turned around and was heading toward my seat) and 1 level below the balcony (2 stalls, which didn't game the really line long). The only merchandise stand is next to the bar on the main entrance. There are various bars located throughout the theater. After the show, we exited at W. 44 St. If you are looking for autographs, you have to go to the W. 45 St. Enjoy. read more

Regular on the Broadway, but somehow my first time in this theatre for the closing show of Waiting for Godot with Keanu and Alex. It being closing night perhaps explains away some issues, but then again maybe it does not. The whole entry process was incredibly chaotic for what is not a very difficult loading process. There are few theatres on the Broadway I have not seen a show in, so every other one on the Broadway got it much more right than the Hudson could. First complaint, they started letting people in through security much later than they were supposed to. No communication about why they were running so far behind. Instead you just stand like an idjit in the cold, when I could have been nice and toasty up in the Dave & Busters for a few extra minutes of Minecraft. A tiny ounce of consideration may have been due to customers on a cold night. Second complaint, extremely poor crowd control in the tiny vestibule. There was no guidance on where the line for merch was oddly snaking around and wrapped around the bar line, so there was just an awful lot of unnecessary pushing and shoving as people were trying to jump from the wrong line to the right line, making me feel like I was in an episode of Heated Rivalry as I waited to purchase a magnet for important experiences, like I started with Jack Wolfe's show last year. Third complaint, they let too many people into the vestibule and then were late on opening the doors into the theatre so it felt like Times Square at NYE being crammed in like that in a small space. If they knew they weren't going to open the theatre doors on time perhaps they should have better regulated how many they let into the merch/bar area rather than creating a hazard. Final complaint, one of the only empty seats in the house was next to me and one of the theatre staff plopped down next to me and then coughed through most of the performance when she wasn't crinkling a cough drop container. Gross. For about $267 in the dorkestra for Keanu and Alex's final show the actual theatre was definitely caught lacking in numerous areas specified above. But the show itself was still great. You either know the show was great if you were there or you now have FOMO for missing Keanu & Alex on stage. read more

I sat on the third floor balcony up front, where myself and those beside me were told they'd have to use the restroom before the show as we wouldn't be able to get up once the show started. Came to the Hudson Theatre, in order to see The Last Five Years. The theatre is a sight to behold. The architecture is gorgeous and even the box office window is ornate. I spoke to an Usher and she explained how they have maintained Tiffany tiles, from 1913, intact and beautiful, along the mezzanine seating facade. The play deals with a couple's breakup. She begins at the breakup and he begins at the first kiss. Both sides of a 5 year relationship play out in 90 minutes. The performers were Nick Jonas and Tony Award winner, Adrienne Warren. The play will run until June 22nd and I would give it a 70% out of 100%, which is higher than the current show-score.com rating. The theatre receives 4 stars. The play....3. read more

Despite being placed in the balcony for the musical "The Last Five Years," the seat was actually very cushiony and comfortable with the more spacious legroom compared to other theaters in Times Square/Hell's Kitchen. My legs didn't hurt sitting there for 1.5 to 2 hours. Several flights of stairs (like 3-4) to get to the balcony though, so beware of the hike upstairs if you're not a walking person. Was placed in the second row on the rear corner of the right side. The view wasn't the greatest and a bit distorted since I wasn't seated in the middle, so I saw more of the overhead and side views. Wasn't too bad overall. The rounded theater itself was shaped as a sphere/dome instead of a rectangular venue. It was more of a traditional theatre. read more

Super friendly staff. Beautiful theatre, but the staff went above and beyond. The one usher was so nice that she invited us to the private club free of charge. It was fun and such a nice surprise. The upper most balcony is steep and the railings aren't that high. My one friend wasn't comfortable there at first and I wouldn't get those seats again with him. read more

It is a classic old theater, but there are bathrooms on every floor so there's very little crowding for bathroom time. They serve frozen and mixed drinks as well as alcohol and water. They also have snacks. They also have a merch area for different shows. Staff are communicative. You go through a metal detector. I'm glad in case of violence as it's NYC. They turn in music before the show but it's quite loud. Otherwise nice sound and acoustics. read more

Fabulous historic theatre. I love seeing history and the intricate architecture of the past. Downstairs they have newspaper clippings from the Titanic sinking - how cool is that? Went to see Waiting for Godot and had front row seats. Boy are you super close to the stage! At some parts, I needed to sink down in my seat to look up. Guess it was a good spot for when Keanu Reeves dropped his pants! Though I wonder if that character would be wearing briefs like that instead of boxers? Interesting costume choice, I suppose. Love that the theatre has a great bar with REAL glassware you can bring back to your seat. They even have a pretty delicious mocktail for those of us doing any sort of cleanse. Going to the Hudson was very enjoyable. I also bought the early entry which I'll always do from now on. I'm not a line person and it made my visit all the more enjoyable. I will be making two separate ratings: the theater itself and the current production "The Last Five Years". Hudson theater The theater boasts a dome shaped interior with decorative patterns on balcony level. Despite being on the third level, the view of the stage was unobstructed and has ample legroom and clean seats. The Last 5 Years The show that's currently in production features Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren. Adrienne was by far the best part of the show. Here's a few critiques: 1. Orchestration I'm truly underwhelmed by the orchestration but not due to the lack of talent. I feel like there were parts where the music can be faster/slower/ louder/softer. At times, Nick Jonas' vocals wed drowned out by the instruments which makes it hard to decipher. 2. Stage The show is supposed to be told from two separate timelines yet the stage seems to mesh together both timelines in a way that makes it difficult to see the two perspectives. 3. Minimal speaking lines. Song after song with nothing else in between (imo). read more

This is a review for All In the Broadway musical! I can't believe I saw Lin Manuel Miranda live and in his element. What a crazy experience to have! If only he had also sung Hamilton songs... haha! All In was such an interesting Broadway concept as it was essentially a bunch of mini love stories that were read in a storytime concept with various songs as transitions. It reminded of kids storytime hour at the library and also the New York Times's column of Modern Love. I understand why they can have an ever-rotating guest book as really the guests don't need to memorize anything and can just read off of the script. I will say that I came out of this experience with a couple of takeaways: - If you're big enough as a celebrity, you could seriously do anything and people would come and watch. The amount of effort you need to put in as someone who is starting out in the industry is drastically different from someone who is already well established. - I think we need more adult storytimes. You could argue that this is essentially a podcast but I like these live podcasts by actors as it really gets you in the story. Also, surprisingly, I was not bored at all. - There's a lot of different types of scripts and there should be more scripts that really emphasize on the narration and plot of it all rather than the effects. Each story that was shared was actually quite complicated in nature which I really appreciated. I liked that the plotline always took an interesting turn. In regards to the theater itself, I really appreciate the larger seats than normal. I will say that I was not a big fan of the women's bathroom as there were not that many stalls and each stall was quite small. read more

I was so looking forward to seeing a show at the Hudson Theatre, especially after reading. A notice posted by the theatre. It stated that the area in the orchestra, with seats closest to the stage, would be quite cool, to accommodate the needs of the actors on stage. Ah, I thought, no worries about being in a stuffy crowded theatre with virtually no AC and little air circulation. Unfortunately, this was NOT the case. Our seats, in row D were not cool. In fact, the area was incredibly warm and stuffy. While the play was torturous, my tolerance for it was adversely affected by the climate control, or lack of it. On the plus side, the men's bathroom on the main level, to the right after entering the theatre, was immaculate. The queue for drinks and snacks moved briskly. And we paid for priority entrance $10 extra per ticket, and no long line to wait on. So, that's my review of the physical plant of the theatre - with no mention of the play - as that was irrelevant. read more

While in the city we decided to add another show, The Last Five Years and we are glad we did! These 2 actors were phenomenal, Adrienne Warrens voice was insane! And come on it's Nick Jonas. The orchestra was great, they were up in the rafter so from our seats we couldn't see them but each player came out for a solo throughout the show so that was cool, you never usually get to see the orchestra so it was nice they were more interactive! read more

The Hudson Theatre is a fine place to catch a show!. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, and the ushers were lightning fast to remind people to turn their phones off- a small but highly appreciated detail that made the showing of Once Upon a Mattress focused on the actors and story instead of distractions. The seats were comfortable, and there were no audio issues at all, so everything felt good to go. The guy coughing and sniffling next to me probably should have stayed home but, that's not the theatre's fault and luckily I didn't seem to get sick. After the show, the stage door experience was polite and well-organized, even though only a few cast members came out. No issues during this show. read more

All in all it's a very nice theatre. Check-in was fast and smooth - no security bag scanning that other theatres make you stand in line for. Friendly staff, comfortable seats, good view etc. There were two problems for me: 1) The music before the show was really loud. I could feel my seat vibrating with the high volume. And because of the loudness of the music, people behind me were shouting at each other for a conversation. I felt a massive attack on my sensory equilibrium, to the point that I nearly got up to walk away. Luckily the anticipation of seeing Keanu Reeves in person kept me at my seat. 2) Tiny bathrooms. There are only two stalls for a long line of people, who must wait outside the door, as the space is so limited inside - one can barely turn around to dry one's hands after washing them. There isn't enough space for two people to wash and dry hands simultaneously - they'd have to swap places to accomplish either task. read more

The Ambassador Lounge is a comfortable bar upstairs from the main theater entrance with a friendly and efficient staff, providing a great way to relax before the show and during intermission. It has a separate coat check and bathrooms. I thought it was well-worth the $60 supplement to the ticket for the show. They limit capacity, so it's best to buy a ticket for the lounge at the same time as buying tix for the show. As for the theater itself, seats are pretty standard. It's difficult to avoid stepping on toes to get to seats in the middle. Once Upon a Mattress was excellent. Sutton Foster is so darn funny! read more

I had a great experience here seeing Merrily We Roll Along! The show itself is fantastic. Definitely a must see! The story is heartwarming and you can't beat music composed by Stephen Sondheim. Daniel Radcliffe is also one of the leads, so it's great for the Harry Potter fans! The theater itself is very beautiful. We had seats in the mezzanine and they were very sloped, which was great for eye lines. As a short person, I loved that I could see so clearly! The bar had some fun signature drinks. They serve everything in glassware, which is not the norm for theater. It definitely gave the cocktails an elevated feel! My one negative is the limited bathrooms. I would suggest jumping up as soon as the act is over to make sure you get in line before it is too long! This is a very opulent theater - with three seating sections - the orchestra, center circle and then the balcony. The bathroom situation is HORRID here, because it's such a LARGE theater you would think there would be more bathrooms, especially for women. I came to see Merrily We Roll Along, and LOVED the performance. However, it's right next to the Belasco Theater and you could hear the cicada noises from Appropriate (but we did also hear some noise at the Belasco Theater too). You don't choose the show based on the theater in NYC especially this year with so many new shows, but this one is middle of the group. Comfortable seats with decent leg room (and we were nose bleeds). I will say the concessions here seemed the most exciting, with frozen drinks. Tip: Go to the basement for the women's bathroom - I thought I could use the one in the center circle, but that is only two stalls. There is a men's restroom in the balcony. read more

I was fortunate to sit row M which has a huge aisle in front of it, so no one for at least 6 feet in front of me. But what's the deal with the glass Voss sparkling water bottles ? August Wilson serves the same in plastic. Who is carrying all that glass in & out of the theater to stock &hopefully recycle. Honestly, 8 bucks was not bad, however if you sold cans of Schweppes, the mark up would be even better and much simpler to store & stock. Oh boy... I have to say I was really pleased with the Hudson Theatre in NYC. Well appointed and spacious, even the seats were pretty comfortable. The big + was the Ambassador Club access, which was included with our seat selection. We had access to this posh space for one hour before curtain and at intermission. The Ambassador club is a private space, decked out in 1940s glory with private rest rooms only for its guests (no lines!), two bartenders making custom cocktails, snacks and old standards (fitting the setting) playing on the speaker system. A great way to decompress from the craziness of Manhattan before a theatre experience. Also a great escape at intermission when the lines for the main restrooms seem to go on forever. We'll be sure to come back, but only with Ambassador Club access. Hudson Theatre does Broadway right. read more

Came here to see Daniel Radcliffe in Merrily We Roll Along. I purchased ambassador lounge access and was the first one into the theater for the 7 PM Tuesday night show. The lounge is elegant, with dark paint and jewel tones. Service is exquisite. You get a complimentary glass of Prosecco, but can order other drinks, including drinks to take into the theater. If I can't buy a lounge ticket, I'm not sure I want it . . . I've become accustomed to the private bathrooms and coat check! Also, while relaxing in the lounge, our server told us about the history. The lounge has photos on the wall from the Hudson archive, featuring celebrities who have performed at the theater previously. I was sat in a place where Elvis once sat. The theater itself is clean and beautiful. Staff are helpful. I sat in center orchestra, row C, right in the middle. I heard someone behind me say they chose row D because they read it was the best. I thought C was perfect, as I was very close, but not so close that I had to crane my head upward. No one's head was blocking my view. Row D was probably pretty good too, but I wouldn't trade places. Some people complained about the seats, but I found them comfortable. Not cramped, not too soft or too hard. Supportive. This venue hosts big names and well-known productions. I would definitely see a show here again. With ambassador tickets for sure! read more
