This was another Broadway performance where the audience raved about the leads, rightly so, because the actors did a great job of exuding the heart and soul behind the 80s hit movie The Lost Boys. The staging was carefully considered, and each scene highlighted nostalgic moments from the film. If you've seen the movie, you'll be sure to love this show, especially the music. The atmosphere was charged with excitement with theater goers, who had more than likely seen this show multiple times. The audience enthusiastically supported the actors, and the actors thrived on the love shown. It feels good to celebrate artists who have accomplished something great! The production was stellar and I might have to go see it again! Some things to consider: the seating in the balcony can be a bit iffy depending on how tall the person is in front of you. I am on the shorter side, so my knees touching the seat in front of me wasn't an issue. That being said, I would recommend spending the extra money to sit within the first three rows of the MEZZ C F for better unobstructed views, or for the majority of the show, you'll end up having to lean forward. When exiting the balcony, several flights of stairs weren't expected. If you have high heels, body aches, or issues with being in closed spaces, choose seating on the main floor to bypass the congestion. Lastly, there were times when I wanted to see more of some things and less of others, but one thing I appreciated was how it all came together. Hearing members of the audience stating that they couldn't wait to go home and watch the movie again was definitely a heartwarming moment. If you haven't seen it, you should!
Easily accessible by the nearest N/R/W trains from the 49th Street Station. Exit through 47th Street + 7th Ave and the theater is right behind you. The Lost Boys production is currently featured inside the beautifully-structured Palace Theatre. All the details with little artworks and paintings here and there. Love seeing the stage props used from The Lost Boys movie showcasing in a glass display case. I am really impressed with its grand-looking stage and the massive chandelier centerpiece when I first peer up to the ceiling. I believe they've recently renovated the place last year. A well-lit and decently-large auditorium as the space wise. Bathrooms are pretty clean and widely accessible on each floor (thank goodness for that amenity in this theater). There's no line either. Finally seeing restrooms on each floor is definitely necessary and definitely a miracle for me. Truly, I think all theaters should have that nowadays since it's not ideal to have everyone lining up for the restrooms on only one floor. Although, I definitely don't enjoy the chore of climbing up three flights of long, steep stairs to reach the Right Balcony Section where my seat is found via Row D Seat 26. From where I'm sitting though, I get an obstructed view of the stage. So whenever the actors do something in front of the stage whether dancing or whatever, everyone in the row has to stretch his/her head in order to get a closer look at what they're doing. Surprisingly, the public wifi works really well inside because I know how other theaters don't seem to have any cellular service at all to begin with. Plus, I am well aware that most broadway theaters are often tightly packed + uncomfortable. All the seats have been filled up for the 1pm show on 6/7/26 today. Yes, there's hardly enough legroom at most theaters. But especially for the space in between of each row, you can say that it is almost non-existent at The Palace Theatre. Literally have no words. It's really annoying of how many people tend to get up one by one and not around the same time in my aisle. People can't even squeeze through without me having to constantly get up several times. I can tell they're annoyed too. Luckily, there's the AC blasted on high to keep all of us cool down. Felt the back of the seat tightening and pressing on my knees/legs every time when the person in front of me decided to lean back on his seat. Cramped up for two hours + 30 mins + 15 mins of intermission is certainly not pleasant for me to say the least. Even the man on the heavier side sitting on the right would've agreed with me about the legroom space. He didn't even return to his seat for the second half of the musical...and that clearly says a lot. But what really fell through for me were these three older female ushers guiding people to their seats inside the theater. I have never felt this mad, seen or came upon such negative + unprofessional + utterly rude behavior of any usher before. I'm so upset about it that I'm typing this review right now before forgetting all the details. Like what did I even do to deserve this nonsense on a Sunday afternoon? None of these women have been helpful at all. The 1st woman had snatched the broadway ticket out of my hands and shouted "lemme see that" in a gruff voice before I could even say anything. The 2nd usher quickly shoved a playbill into my hands and waved her hand at me to move along now. The 3rd usher got pissed while rolling her eyes at me when all I've really asked is of my seating whereabouts. Why haven't these 3 ushers been fired yet? Even if someone is having a bad day, that's not an excuse or the reason to be rude to anyone with a nasty attitude. Just because you don't like your job, why take it out on others? The musical is great itself, the layout and ushers working inside Palace Theatre are not though.
Very nice theater where we saw The Lost Boys last night. Lines were long, but they moved fast. Seating was fine, and the show was good.
I came to see The Lost Boys, and I previously saw Beetlejuice here. I think getting into the theater to watch the musical was well organized, and every line whether for entry, merch or the concession stand moved along quickly. Like most Broadway theaters, the seat are on the smaller side, but for this theater it was a tad more comfortable than the others I have been to.
Saw the Lost Boys tonight. Not sure if I've been to this theatre but it does look familiar. Lots and lots of stairs. Collected tickets from the will call desk and zipped right in. It wasn't a long wait time. Headed to seats in the balcony. Balcony seating is steep and there are moments you and everyone else in front of you have to stick your head and neck out to see what's going on. It wasn't full so I moved to the aisle after intermission. More roomy since I can spread my legs but if I had a choice I would sit in the lower level. Seems so high parts are obstructed. Show, sounds, and scenes were good. Theatrics was on point. Prepare time or leave a bit earlier if you are in a rush if you sit in the balcony. Takes awhile to get to exit. Otherwise, if you have a seat preference, choose the mezzanine and enjoy the show.
SO and I saw The Lost Boys here and thoroughly enjoyed the show. Don't worry about arriving a half hour before the show...although the line queued to almost the end of the block, it moves relatively fast and we were in our seats in roughly 10 minutes.
Great time seeing the lost boys at the palace theater . The list boys is one of my all time favorite movies with addition to the original fright knight. The talented cast did a beautiful job with there performances and clever comedy takes within them. Granted they had to omit certain characters and plot of the story, however overall very well done and worth seeing. My only critique in one of the iconic scenes in the lost boys when David divulge they were vampires on the beach. I wish that scene was more dramatic and longer. In my opinion, that scene went fast and took away from one of most iconic scene of the movie.
I wasn't a fan of them moving the entrance to the theatre and I don't understand how they did it, but the original theatre inside is the same, but moves up a couple floors. The outside is all modern now and looks amazing. There's a disconnect with the theatre once you enter that space, but the fly space and space below the stage is incredible now. I don't think The Lost Boys musical would work as is anywhere else in the world. I'm so glad we were able to see it here. The show was very good too. I'd see it again. I look forward to being back in the Palace Theatre. The improvements are amazing. An incredible transformation.
This is a super nice theatre! Lots of stairs but efficient layout! We saw The Lost Boys and really enjoyed sitting on Row AA of Mezzanine Left. I would say that the sight lines from the top balcony are probably pretty steep so I wouldn't recommend sitting up there. For this show specifically, mezzanine seems to be the best level.
Saw the lost boys here. It's one of the best musicals I've seen so far. Loved the set, the music, and the cast. However, the balcony seating is pretty far away and can be hard to see some of the scenes. Would recommend spending extra money on this show to be seated lower honestly. And the seats were smaller than normal and not that comfortable unfortunately. But the show made it worth it. Also the staff at this theater has been the most unfriendly compared to other theaters nearby so far.
We waited on a line which moved very quickly. Once inside, the ticketing check in process was very smooth. Guidance to our seats went easily. This theater is beautiful. Very clean. Roomy seats with plenty of leg space. Downside, no cup holders, but with the spacious leg room you can place your drink in front of you. The bar/concession area wasn't chaotic and you can even order from a QR code where concessions are brought to you or placed to the side for pick up. We sat in Orchestra R, V. The view was pretty awesome. Highly recommend catching a show here!
Came here to see Beetlejuice. Very efficient entry and seating process (I was in the orchestra). The seats were fairly comfortable, but once people were seated next to me, we were definitely shoulder to shoulder. And the seats toward the front at least, are not on a grade, so the big giant head in front of me blocked my view and I had to look around him. Overall though, a pretty good venue. The bar was super fast too. And they had a setup that you could order your intermission drink ahead of time and get it without having to wait. Definite plus. As others mentioned, it gets pretty cool in there, so dress in layers. The stage and the sets for Beetlejuice were great. The play itself was great.
In the 22 years that I've been attending Broadway shows, I've never walked out in the middle of it until now. I was really looking forward to seeing The Lost Boys in Broadway because I love the movie and it's extra special to me since it's what got me into vampires. Since my dad introduced me to that movie and loves vampires as much as I do, I brought him with me to see it on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience from the get-go. We were first sent to the wrong section by the ushers and instead of being sat at the balcony area, we were sat at the mezzanine area. Our seats hardly had legroom and it's okay for a shorty like me but my father basically had to do a split in order to sit down. When the show was about to start, we found out that we were in the wrong seats and then I was informed that we had to go all the way up. As a random patron pointed where our seats were, I flipped my head back and got vertigo in reverse. This definitely is a massive theater. So as my dad and I tried to squeeze out of our seats and walk around the crowd in the narrow aisle, I lost my shoe as I tripped on one of the stairs and almost fell down, which I've added to my list of near life-and-death experiences. Thank God one of the people behind me pushed me back up and even placed my shoe in front of me as if I were Cinderella. When we finally got to our correct seats, we ended up with more legroom somehow but turned into turtles because we had to stick our necks out to see the whole stage. I could have handled all that discomfort and initial bad experience if the show had been true to the movie. Somehow, they made this vampire movie more sentimental than it was meant to be. The most disappointing moment for me was when they got to the bridge scene and I was at the edge of my seat for the big plot twist when all of a sudden it becomes a scene straight from a Lifetime movie. I came to see a cool show about vampires but they didn't even dive much into the vampire lore. They focused more on the characters' feelings than anything else. There were moments that the story dragged so much that my father and I fell asleep. So once the first act finished, glanced over at my father who looked like he was freezing because somehow the theater was colder than it was outside. I decided to give him the option to leave and he basically bounced out of there. I do think the actors are very talented because they have amazing voices and they really tried to honor the movie characters with their portrayals, but the story couldn't hook me in.
Had an amazing time with friends watching The Lost Boys with my colleagues on a Wednesday evening! The line outside was long but you could order ahead any snacks or drinks! Security check and ticket check was quick and easy. Easy way to get inside the theater with stairs or escalators and the ushers were fast and efficient! We got great orchestra seats right in the middle. The show was great with the stage set up, live music, and acting. Tears, laughter, and applause filled the room. Great experience! read more
I haven't written a review for the Palace Theater before, and I'm not sure if I'll be back again. I came here to watch The Lost Boys, and overall, the theater itself was nice. The main downside was the view from the balcony. It was difficult to see everything without leaning forward., it can block the view for the people sitting behind them as well. I would definitely keep that in mind when choosing balcony seats. On the plus side, the theater has multiple restrooms, which is always convenient. There is also an elevator available, although it seemed like most people were using the stairs. Overall, I did enjoy the show, but I would probably choose a different section to sit at if I came back. read more
Seeing The Lost Boys was my first time in The Palace since it's renovation. The upgrades to the design are beautiful. Very sleek and modern while keeping some of its charm. However, the layout is pretty confusing. There are so many stairs and it's a bit of a pain to get back to the main level to the bar/merch stands. I feel like it could have been mapped out better as it is a lot of walking to get to the mezzanine level. The seats themselves, for a Broadway house, were spacious and comfortable. They definitely felt like an upgrade. We won the lottery and were in the front mezzanine. The view was great! The show itself was good, but not my favorite. I know people who loved it though, so might just not have been my cup of tea! The effects were incredible and Shoshana Bean's voice was incredible as always. read more

I'd skip this one the theater was lovely staff was kind the show was subpar compared to soo many others ...I'm so sorry to say I fell asleep which is unusual; I'll be back for more Broadway but I dissuade from this one it doesn't have the it factor like back to the future did or the ability to hold your attention. read more
I absolutely loved seeing Beetlejuice here. Almost everything about the experience was positive. The flow of the drinks at the concession stand on the second floor worked out really well plus the candor of the associates helping at the merch counter was really helpful in me figuring out what I wanted to purchase. My one big negative is that being up on the balcony at the very top they had the air conditioning on full blast. We brought it up to the ushers at intermission, but it seems like nothing could be done about it. So many people up on the balcony were putting their winter coats back on to be able to sit and enjoy the show and I was so cold. I almost couldn't focus on the play itself because I was shivering. If they could just adjust that one thing, I think it would be a very positive experience. read more

Went here to see the Lost Boys last night and it did not disappoint! All of the cast members did a great job! Brought back memories of when I was a kid watching this movie. It also touched on topics currently happening in the world as well. Despite having reservations about certain "agendas" being pushed through entertainment to gain an audience.. overall the quality of the production was excellent! The drinks were good.. the featured drinks like the Santa Clara and the Out all Night was wayyyy too sweet.. just sayin! Great night overall read more

This theater is very nice now. I think it went through some renovations. The seats are a bit comfortable. The staff here are very nice and helpful. The bartender was super nice and made a great drink. The only downside to this theater is getting ti the bathrooms. It's a tad confusing and you have to go through a few doors to get to it. The sound and lighting in this theater seems good. I have seen a few shows here and all sounded good. This theater is in the heart of times Sq so there are alot of restaurant's to go to before seeing a show here. read more

"Tammy Faye" was incredible. What talent, what voices! You are in for a treat. Highly recommend. Two hours and 30 minutes, plus 15 minute intermission. The theater gets cold, so bring something to keep you warm. The theater is newly renovated, which we really appreciated, as the seats were spacious and we were actually comfortable the entire time. No need to slouch and watch your extremities, like you need to in old, tiny theaters where you don't have any space to breathe in those miniscule seats that can barely contain a child. Also, if you're sitting in orchestra, there are no bad seats with partial view. We sat in L 115-117 and that was smack center, which was perfect. The stage is wide, providing great views for every seat in the theater. Very appreciated. Tons of bathrooms as well, so you won't be stuck in line for an hour. If only all Broadway theaters underwent such much needed updates! read more

We went in April 2025 to see Glenn Gary Glenn Ross. We sat in the second row floor (see view from seat in pic). The theatre was clean and maintained very well. The bathrooms were small but clean. We got drinks and snacks at the bar that were pricey but very good. The only downside is that there are no cup holders in a theatre that lets you take your drink to your seat! Other than that we had a great time & had a superb view. GGGG was AMAZING! Recommend! read more

Special trip to NYC just to see Glengary Glen Ross. Excellent performances in a great venue. The sound was excellent, the seats were comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and professional. read more

Located at the southeast intersection of 47th and 7th, the Palace Theater is mere meters away from street performers, people handing out flyers, the TKTS ticket booth, a crowded McDonald's, swarms of disoriented selfie-taking tourists, and mobs of overweight pigeons eating leftover French fries purchased from said McDonald's by said tourists. Yup, it doesn't get much more touristy than this. Despite being in the heart of Time Square, the Palace Theater is surprisingly difficult to spot since most of the building is concealed behind enormous billboards like its neighbors. (I completely walked past it the first time even though I was navigating using GPS.) If you have trouble seeing the marquee, look for the Wells Fargo ATM next door. Prior to each show, the theater lobby entrance is preceded by a garden-variety bag check and followed by a merchandise stand and a bar with a scant selection of overpriced beverages and snacks (cash & credit). I was able to bring in a bottle of water and a cupcake Baked by Melissa in my messenger bag with no objection from security. Restrooms are available on all levels. Previously housing An American in Paris and the Sunset Boulevard revival and currently home to Spongebob Squarepants the Musical, the Palace Theater expectedly draws a more mainstream crowd of theater-goers. I had the fortune of sitting behind an entire family who arrived late for the first act, arrived late for the second act after intermission, and then spent the entire first 10 minutes of the pirate song loudly eating potato chips. The theater staff, however, was perfectly professional and pleasantly helpful. The box office is open Monday - Saturday from 10 AM - 8 PM and Sunday from 12 - 6 PM. Came to NY for the 2nd leg of our family vacation and had to see a Broadway play. SpongeBob SquarePants was a great choice since all 5 of my kids grew up watching him, and my 2 nieces (11 y.o. & 7 y.o.) familiarized themselves beforehand. My kids had low expectations going in but were raving about it after the show. We had center mezzanine seats and the cast came up and down our aisle high fiving the kids...which was a thrill for the nieces! The bars were well staffed. The lines were long but moved fast. Our drinks came in cute little SpongeBob tumblers that we took outside and sipped while we walked. The ladies restroom lines were long, but we went to the lower level one and it moved quickly. We were in and out faster than the upstairs one. The seats are comfortable if you're under 6' tall...my hubby and boys are over 6' tall so their legs were hitting the seats in front of them. Luckily it didn't stop them from having a good time! Great musical and great theater! read more
This theater is typical of the many theaters on Broadway row. Most people are just excited enough to be in the area because they are going to attend a Broadway play. A group of 120+ went to see the musical SpongeBob Squarepants. The seats were mezzanine center, A good location for the second tier but legroom was scarce as with most of these older theaters. The lines are long and wearisome to gain entrance. The theatre admits patrons only one half hour before showtime. Security is tight, as it should be. No food allowed, with the exception of bottled water. A nice touch came about after the performance: some of the actors came up to the mezzanine and answered questions that our group had. The sound and sights of the musical were excellent, but I digress. If you go to any theater in NYC, it's advisable to take public transportation. read more
We came here because a partner of the producer recommended we see this production. I was reluctant at first since spongebob was after my time. I must say it was a cute play. The theater was beautiful and organized. Even though the show was targeted for children, there were bars for adults. We were able to buy alcohol that we could bring to our seats. It was nice! We had balcony seats, but was able to see everything just fine. The storyline was fun with a great message. All the kids, towards the end, lost their MINDS!! The production had finally sang a song they knew and they all sang along. It was the cutest thing. The children's reactions definitely entertained me. Tip: They check bags upon entry and There was an intermission :) I definitely had my favorite scenes! But I don't want to spoil it :) If you have kids...orrr if you're a hardcore Spongebob fam, I'd recommend it! read more

I've seen Aida and Legally Blonde from the front row there and still thoroughly enjoyed the shows. The stage is high, so I'd sit 5 rows back or so for the best viewing. If you are going to simply bask in the glow of Glenn Close, then front row…
