The pool area has had the same dirty band aide I've seen for a few weeks. The bathrooms are dirty with hair in the sinks. There are food crumbs and dirt. It's disappointing because this is gorgeous. I just feel dirty leaving here. I will keep an eye on it and if the facility cleans itself up I'll increase my stars

They have a wonderful time and look forward to each lesson. I can't recommend this safe, friendly and knowledgeable school enough. Our daughter's private instructor, John is just incredible. First, she has the same instructor each lesson. He has formed such a bond with her. She trusts him and really has a wonderful smile on her face the whole time (even after coughing a little from the water). Her confidence and skills are growing day by day. The group classes are also stellar. Don't be turned off by the "group" part. The ratio is kept down to 3 to 1 and each kid gets plenty of solo instruction. They are given appropriate breaks and then it back out with an instructor to learn more. Our son has a warm smile on his face the entire time. His skills have grown leaps and bounds. If you're looking for classes for your kids this school is definitely worth taking a look at. At first we thought it was a little expensive (and compared with schools like 'The Connection" it is, but the results are completely worth it. They run a safe, friendly and fun school all while being focused on developing real skills.

With just one class down, I'm writing this review with 5 stars because they've done more in the first class in 30 minutes than they have in years past combined, so thank you to HV Swim but also to instructor Richard. My one boy was always so scared of the water, and I've had to request credits because he never went in. Now, he not only stayed there, but swam by himself for the first time ever, was happy about it, and can't wait to go back- he just needed the right motivation. My other son is a fish and was given the right encouragement to do it on his own and swam laps, with a safe eye watching him. I've never felt better about HV Swim, and definitely recommend their lessons!

They pulled my daughter out of the pool after the instructor stated she could handle and it was a make up class they we paid for. Totally embarrased my 5 year old which she carries around till this day stating at family dinners how she got thrown out of the pool. Way to go hudson valley swim. No 5 year old should have to go through that. Waited 2 weeks to contact us to try and make amends which at that point is a no go. We talking about a half hr and just common courtesy here. I suggest take your kids else where we work hard for our money and no child should be treated this way. I could make a bigger deal about this and go to the state and owners of golds gym and let them in on what type of organization this is. So in a word stay away there are cheaper and better options around this area. Funny how they only respond to negative reviews. Again we are talking about 30min. Time i didnt show up un annouced thats was out scheduled time. I did not know there was new classes. No one ever responded to my emails. But again this is a paid service i pay for this this is not free at the end of the day the customer is correct when they are paying. You do not embarass a 5 year old. My child sometimes needs the firm lessons, but with that, they both show my child so much love. At first, I was a bit hesitant with my child's bilingual challenges but they were able to combat any challenges with communication either by having me present or with little communication they were able to get by because they care. The school in general has improved in a positive way and staff is friendly outside of instructors. There are lockers for males, females, and family. Upstairs you will find four individual pools with instructors teaching different levels. On the main floor you will find a section for infants to play, screens for your child to watch tv if they are not in class, and a screen to watch your child via monitor incase you'd prefer they are not nervous and can focus without the parents/guardians presence. You have to find the instructor that can work for your child's needs. If they move up a level you then have to see if the same instructor can accommodate your schedule being that if your child moves up a level that means you need to find what times and days that instructor is teaching. The good thing is that staff does their best to accommodate your child's since a child/parent may prefer one instructor over another.
