Shopping for furniture for our home we walked into Hudson's Furniture and were greeted by Lourdes. She asked us what we are looking for and said she would be close by if we had questions. There are lots of pieces to choose from however the style selection is a bit stale. More traditional pieces then modern. There are however lots of fabric and finish choices to choose from in the store. Hudson's also provides in home design assistance but be ready to spend $5-7K for the service. Overall friendly and good color/finish opinions to choose from here. Tip: Looking at their website there is no pricing you need to call and inquire. read more

I stopped into the Brandon store to purchase a sofa and loveseat. Sales Manager Derrick Gatz showed me some pieces, and I decided on the chocolate Spartacus sofa and loveseat based on his assurances. Derrick told me that the polyurethane would not peel and that the chocolate color came with matching brown stitching rather than contrasting stitching. When I later contacted Hudson Furniture to confirm, I found out that both statements were untrue. It seems Derrick was more focused on making the sale than being honest. When I reported this to Hudson corporate, I was told they would "let Derrick know he got caught lying." That's hardly a reassuring response. read more

If I could give them a zero, I would. We ordered two recliners on November 14, 2024. It is now March 12, 2025-nearly four months later. When we bought them, we were told they were manufactured in the US and would be delivered in 4-6 weeks. We've had nothing but excuses and empty promises. Now they say they're held up because they're coming from Norway but they have been shipped and will be here within three weeks. Since when is Norway in the US? I asked for the shipment date and tracking information and got nothing. I don't believe a word they're telling me at this point and I just want my $3500+ back which they have refused to do. I have to chime in here. I see a lot of very negative reviews, which I feel seem to have petty reasonings. My experiences at Hudsons have been excellent. I shop at the Brandon, FL location, & Derrick is one of the nicest & laid back guys that I have ever come across in sales. We did have a slight issue with our order, but it was rectified immediately. The quality of our sofa is top notch so we went back & ordered the ottoman amongst other items from Hudson's. I feel bad for those of you who had poor experiences but all of my visits there, whether I purchased something or not, have always been great. read more

DON'T BUY FROM HERE! You've been warned so you only have yourself to blame if you are scammed here. I still don't understand why Yelp does not allow ZERO stars. My husband and I returned to this store as previous customers. We bought a couch a couple of months ago and returned because the couch was nice... even though we were missing pieces to connect the sections together. Took a while for someone to come to our house and when they came they did not have tools! Fast forward to last week. TIFFANY sold us an entertainment center that she states was "solid wood". TIFFANY also stated that there was only one left in stock at his location and to obtain another one from a different location would be MONTHS. When the delivery people came they were rude and in a rush. Hey, it's not our fault they are running behind! The hutch was cracked and had water damage which made it obvious that IT WAS NOT SOLID WOOD. It looked like what would happen if you soaked cardboard in water. The piers were cracked and in some parts were in pieces. Remember Tiffany said it was solid wood? The delivery people were agitated and telling us just to keep it cuz "it will be easier" to return , whatever the heck that means. After speaking to Hudson's we were informed we can receive a replacement in a week. Remember Tiffany said we would wait months for another of the same entertainment center? Lies. Today after days on end of trying to get a manager to call back, Desiree called saying we have to pay a 30% penalty for returning it. Even after it was explained that we were MISLED by TIFFANY and LIED TO. She would not take any responsibility for her staff member and was extremely condescending and rude, eventually saying she had to go and hung up on us. There was another piece of furniture which we now decided we do not want due to this horrific experience. We did not receive it yet. Hudson's is also now going to charge us 30% for it. Not to rag on furniture salespeople but obviously they do not make large amounts of money and do not even need a college degree in their line of work so they should understand that money matters to their customers! While Hudson's has a great selection of furniture, their sales staff is not impressive at all. We recently visited looking for a new couch and love seat set. While discussing options with one associate, another injected herself into the conversation and began to argue with the first associate. The interaction was embarrassing and inappropriate. In addition, we were told that we would be notified of the pending sale pricing. No call or email was received. We returned to e sore the following week to get an updated price only to be told the price had increased. Fortunately, we found furniture at another store for a much better price even though it was the same manufacturer. The one star is because the ONE associate that greeted or even smiled at me was really nice. I dressed in sweats and dirty sneakers just to see what kind of assumptions would be made about me. I visited the store for the first time today and was disappointed, but not surprised by the unprofessional sales reps. Only one spoke to me, the others were talking about a previous customer who wanted discounts but was "out of her damn mind if she thought she'd get that kind of discount. She might get a free ottoman..." Two others were sitting on the sales floor freely displaying their lack of respect for diversity and human dignity, as one said "I don't understand all these different pronouns..give me a break. His-them-they-what the hell is that all about..." They were actually reveling in willful ignorance because the majority has given people like them open space to make hateful comments that go unchallenged. The teacher in me came out today- and I took them to school. Went into the brandon location today to look at mattresses. I have previously shopped here and spent a lot of money here and enjoyed shopping here but i will never ever set foot in another Hudson's furniture again thanks to the sales manager, Derrick Gatz. i spent 20 minutes trying the mattresses and expressed several times that i was not ready to purchase but was window shopping at this time (planning so i can make a decision to make a purchase at a later time). This person approached me and very rudely expressed that if I wasn't ready to buy that i could leave the store. I have never been treated so rudely by an associate before in my life. The audacity of this man has me floored, i spent over 10k in this store less then 2 years ago and now i regret giving them my business. I purchased a leather sectional couch 4 years ago and purchased an extended warranty which I was told covered 5 years and covered everything - even if the dog cut the leather with its claw... that being said after 4 years the cushions are now flat so I called the extended warrantee company. The lady was extremely rude right from the start and told me that this was normal wear and tear or poor workmanship from the manufacture and either way they do not cover it and the claim is denied. I sent over 4K on this couch and there is only me and my husband, the couch still looks brand new! Plus isn't a couch mainly cushions to set on isn't that be the most important part of a couch??? I call customer support and they say "any day now" I've been sleeping on my couch. They cant find the first shipment of mattresses so i have to wait even longer for a second shipment to arrive. We ordered all new furniture for our new home in Orlando from Hudson furniture back in November. Some rooms came in on time but we're still waiting on our sofa, dining room chairs and outdoor furniture. The delivery dates keep getting pushed out further and further. The most frustrating part is that your delivery date may change with little notice...so you may think it's arriving on a specific date from email updates but then the date suddenly changes to a later date months out. If you order anything custom be aware it could take 6,9 or even 12 months to receive it. No refunds on custom orders so your stuck. We we're not told (during pandemic times) that custom orders would be so delayed. read more

Jordan was great during the sales process showing me multiple bedroom sets and helping ensure I got exactly what I wanted. However, that turned out to be the highlight of my experience. The furniture was special order and arrived in less time than quoted. But, the team that showed up to install the furniture (5/31) took ~2 hours to put together a king bed, dresser, and night stand. Then, during my second night, the mattress fell through the supports. Upon investigation, the bed was never assembled correctly and the 'extra' pieces the install team left with, while telling me they weren't needed, were definitely required. On 6/2, I was directed by store personnel to contact customer service. After sending pictures and multiple emails and phone calls letting them know what was needed to repair the bed, parts finally arrived on 6/18 with a team arriving on 6/19 to make the repairs. So, after ~3 weeks of sleeping on the floor, I finally have a bed. The timeline in rectifying the situation was unacceptable. Also, I was told multiple times store personnel would be following up during this process and the only person that contacted me was a representative from customer service to schedule deliveries. I had high hopes for Hudsons based on the store personnel I dealt with during the sale, but doubtful I will return. read more

I will NEVER order from Hudson's Furniture. Joe Key is by far the most unprofessional salesman they have. The rest of the story is as follows.. I would not recommend Hudson's furniture to anyone. I placed an order for a couch on 1/26/2020 and was informed it would be here on 1/22/2020. We did not get our couch until March 21st. During this process I spoke with several people at the Brandon,FL Hudson's location and no one including the General Manager, Matt can tell me where my couch is or when to expect my couch until 2 days before. At this point I am extremely frustrated. This is only the tip of the iceberg with problems I have experienced with this order at Hudson's. First, the salesman Joe Keys was extremely unprofessional throughout the whole process of buying my furniture. He was 20 mins late to our appt on 1/26/2020 because he was hungover. He proceeds to tell us how he was out drinking until 4am and that is why he was late to work. Then, when it came to sign the paperwork all he could do was talk another Kobe Bryant's death. I understand that it was sad, but I don't believe he should be nonstop talking about it when I am trying to figure out my financing with Hudson's. On top of his unprofessionalism, he didn't know how to take care our financing, so he informed us that we had to come back to sign the paperwork. We came back the following Tuesday like he requested to come sign the paperwork and he was no where to be found. On top of that, the paperwork we needed to sign he forgot to print and leave out. The women working had to call the GM and print the paperwork herself when she had another client. A 5 min signature took over 1 hour to complete. Next, Joe Keys told us on 1/26/2020 that we did not have to put down a deposit, come to find out we did and they almost canceled our order. We were out of the country for a week, which we made him very aware of but he still almost canceled our order due to no down payment. When we returned to the country on Sunday, 2/9/2020 we called Joe to schedule our mattress delivery on 2/22/2020. This is when he told us our couch was almost cancelled due to no downpayment. On the phone, he confirmed that our mattress would be delivered on 2/22/2020. We also paid the couch deposit on this day. On 2/19/2020 my husband called to make sure our delivery was scheduled for the mattress and he said it was. When I didn't receive a call on 2/21/2020 I called the store and talked to Matt the GM and he informed me that my mattress was not on the schedule. He did help us out by giving us a loaner mattress and having ours be delivered the following Saturday. I was grateful for this, but still a huge inconvenience and terrible job done by Joe Keys. Now, my couch that was supposed to be delivered 2/22/2020 was delayed and Matt informed me it would be here on 3/2/2020 and that he would give me a call to schedule delivery for 3/8/2020. On 3/6/2020 my husband called after we still didn't receive a call from Matt or anyone to schedule delivery. Matt was busy at the time but supposed to call him back and never did. I called on 3/7/2020 and the assistant manager or I believe his name was Rob was supposed to give me a call by 8pm. I never received a call. On 3/8/2020 Joe called my husband and said he was calling the manufacturer and would give him a call back later when he heard an ETA. This was at 11am and Joe never called back. On 3/9/2020 I called and spoke to Matt and we still do not have a solution for my couch. They still not have a date and it has been over 6 weeks. I have company staying at my house and not a place for them to sit. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service I have been receiving. read more

I had never been in one of their stores prior to this adventure of purchasing a recliner from their Brandon store. I dealt with Derek who was supposed to be their sales manager. I was pitched with his pat sales pitch of having 95% of their furniture manufactured in the United States. US manufacturers weren't affect like competitors who sourced 95% of their furniture from China and other countries from overseas. I was guaranteed my chair would be shipped in typically 4 weeks possibly 6 in a worst case scenario. July 31st was a worst case scenario and yet now I'm being told to expect it in the middle or end of August. One might ask why not just cancel the order? Their orders are noncancellable. So I'm stuck with dealing with a company who will tell you what you want to hear but fails measurably in following through with their commitments. The some of the threading is now coming out so I called to get it fixed since I had gotten an extended warranty. Unfortunately lost my paperwork, but I called and they found it and said to just send them pictures and they would file the claim. If I could assign negative stars, I would. I purchased $14,000 in furniture, everything was good except a small sectional that doesn't fit in the space and doesn't allow me to see the tv. I tried to pick out a couch instead, but they refused to honor any of the discounts offered on the original order. I told them to pick it up and I would look elsewhere, and they said there would be a 30% penalty fee to which I agree. They then went radio silent. We purchased custom couches in February and received delivery in April. Unfortunately, the couches where the wrong fabric and was noticeably not correct. Completely different from what we picked. Not one staff member called us in regards to the change of fabric. Apparently what we chose was discontinued. We would have been happy to re-choose but that option was taken away from us. We where finally actually told by employees after several attempts of contact that the fabric was discontinued and that the company picked a color in our pillows to match rather than calling us to pick new fabric. I can't believe after paying to get custom fabric that not one person called us to notify us of the fabric being discontinued!! Our couches also arrived with a mystery stain. We contacted customer service and they set up furniture repair to remedy the stain and investigate smells. We where initially told the fabric would be looked into by our sales associate. Which is when it was confirmed that we did receive the incorrect fabric. We where offered an in store credit that didn't match the custom fees we paid to have our couches upholstered. The general manager contacted us after contacting customer service again to notify them that if the situation wasn't resolved we would consult legal. The general manager was so nice and apologetic. He said he would follow up with us after furniture repair was done. He never did. He gave me a follow up date and I never heard from him again. Why was it not immediately offered to refund the custom fees???? Honestly this company messed up every step of the way. We paid for custom couches. We didn't get a choice in the fabric after paying for it. No one even told us it was wrong. I had to figure it out on my own. Although it wasn't hard to figure out as it's completely different. Not one person offered to do the right thing and refund the customization fees since our couches where made incorrectly. Not one! Had the store contacted us we would have understood and made a different choice. They didn't. I had to make many phone calls and complaints before anyone would even recognize we didn't receive what we ordered. Even then we kept being asked if we liked what we got. All it would have taken was a refund of the customization fees and we would have been happy. We are not hard to please people and have been more than fair. Most customers would have sent the entire order back. Probably costing the store more loss than them simply doing the right thing and refunding the custom fee charged per piece ordered. We shouldn't have even had to work so hard for our issue to be recognized. What a shame. Hudson's has probably done this before and gotten away with it. Furniture repair was able to remove the stain. The smell is going away provided I keep a fan on them and I do understand that but they aren't the right fabric and the store made little effort to correct it. The couches are nice there's no debating that. But it's not what we ordered. The store should have refunded our credit card immediately, and without us having to ask, the customization fees we paid. We didn't receive custom couches. On many levels the store had opportunity to correct this and receive a glowing review. They did not. I doubt I'll hear from anyone again. Just know and understand you may not get what you pay for with custom orders and the store won't make it right. We couldn't be more disappointed. Furthermore, we had plans to re-do our entire master bedroom and other business. This is business lost to Hudson's. Cash business. Everyone we know will be told of our experience. I will provide photos. I had written and deleted my review several times in hopes the situation would be made right. It's clear to me they won't be making this right. I purchased a bedroom set in October received the completely wrong set in February. Mind you after waiting a long time I agreed to settle with the furniture they sent . I went to check out the bedroom set once the men delivered it and they had super glued an entire piece where it was completely noticeable. April 2016: The sales representative that I worked with, James (who is now Sales Manager, lol) was very friendly when I ordered. Even through his inexperience with adequately using the ordering system, he found time to joke with me and be pleasant. HE EVEN walked me out and suggested that we have lunch or get together. Flirtatious James; flirtatious MARRIED James. I didn't care because I hoped I'd never see him again. Well, the fabric we selected for my chaise was discontinued so I had to return to the store to re-do the order. I complained to the General Manager Chris because I felt James was rude. James suggested that I forgot what I ordered because I had a beer at the time of ordering. Not that Chris was any better. Whatever, again, not expecting to have to deal with these folks again. My chaise and pillow would be delivered, and the end. June 2016: As the delivery date approached, I didn't get any updates so I called the store. Turns out the manufacturer tried calling James for clarity on the order but didn't get an immediate response. I say "so James, you're the reason my order is now 30 days delayed?!!" He replied "well, I guess!!" I tweeted about my experience and sent an email to the Regional Manager, Lisa. Originally, Lisa basically thanked me for letting her know this happened. Same level of empathy and customer service I dealt with in the store. James also texted me to tell me I misrepresented everything and basically called me a liar. That's me putting his illiteracy into common English. July 2016: But, the power of social media prevailed. Once Lisa saw my tweet, she sends a different message offering a credit and wishing me a successful delivery. Ha! The chaise was delivered and in all fairness, it is absolutely beautiful!! I designed a pillow which was not delivered. Actually, I originally designed 2 pillows but when I changed fabrics, I canceled 1 because it didn't match as well. When I asked Chris (Brandon GM) about it, he told me no pillows were ordered but he would see what happened. A few hours later I receive a voicemail about the pillow being "on order". I'm not interested! Cancel, refund and fire everyone in this stupid store!! AVOID THIS STORE!!! One star for the over bearing pushy sales guy in a bright yellow shirt. Other furniture stores we have been to have ben accommodating and understanding about leaving us alone to browse, hovering discreetly at best. This guy literally stalked my husband and I through the store never staying more than 2 feet from us giving us a long sales pitch on every couch I paused more than 1 second in front of. When I turned and headed for the door, he replied that I hadn't even seen the couches on the other side of the door. When I WHISPERED to my husband about the size of a certain couch and whether it would fit, he immediately whipped out a tape measure and handed it to me. I'm sure the quality of the furniture is great. It better be, when $3500 is the 50% sales price on a couch! But from the reviews here, the delivery and customer service are not. I couldn't even sit on a couch without this guy trying to talk my husband into buying it tonight. I have never met a more pushy and forceful salesperson ever. If you back off and give your customers some breathing room, they might browse and actually buy from you. Sorry Hudson's you lost my business the first 5 seconds I was in the store. read more

We ordered a Flexsteel reclining sofa and two matching reclining love seats. I was uneasy as we wrapped up the sale and the salesperson who was writing up the order mentioned something about possibly not meeting the 2-month delivery date. Not surprisingly, it came a month late. Upon delivery, the guys did a very courteous job of folding back a white carpet to not step on it while setting up the furniture. Upon testing each recliner, it was evident one of them was not working. The installer tried to tell me "the springs would loosen up with time". This was our second Flexsteel recliner sofa so I knew they NEVER loosen up. We had to disconnect the springs that were too hard on that set to get it to close and that is why I was buying another set. Told him I knew better and to not lie to customers! He worked with the chair and couldn't get it to open or close correctly, so he wrote up a order to have it replaced or fixed. He said I would get a call that afternoon to schedule an inspection. I asked why he couldn't inspect it since he was right here and couldn't get it to work - but oh well. Of course, the call NEVER came. Waited over 2 weeks and called today to follow up. First, they said I was not in their system. My first name was entered as my last name - It's Linda so I guess that sounded like a last name? Then they found me but said all the delivery was flagged as green and accepted. Their second Lie. Nope, I explained that the delivery guy had created an alert on the one unit and I saw him do it. And I signed after he did. But the customer service person was very rude, speaking over me and arguing with me that it was fine. Finally, I had to talk over her and she agreed to put in a request to have it "inspected". I have no idea why a great company like Flexsteel would put their good name to risk in a store like Hudson's. If an item comes in defective, customers expect prompt and helpful communication to quickly remedy the situation. I had to follow up to make things happen, I was lied to twice and now I must wait longer to get this resolved. Hudson's how do you stay in business when you treat customers so poorly? if I could give zero stars I would... ordered 2 additional dining chairs to go along with the previous purchased dinning set from Hudson, we also purchased the 5-year protection, the total order for just 2 chairs was over $1500, ridiculous :/ one of the chairs developed a crack back in May, after 3-4 months of getting the runaround and constant follow-up phone calls to the protection company, they finally authorized replacement in August and received an email from Hudson, replacement should be in October/November not certain, just called to follow up it will now be End of December to Mid-January, they explained it is a custom chair coming from Canada? what a joke, for the money we spent it is not worth the frustration, aggravation, and wasted time going on 7 months plus, with no sense of urgency or communication for that matter, I would go elsewhere in the future, the 5-year protection plan should be renamed to the 5-year wait for a replacement plan because that's how long it seems it going to take... some say if you do right by someone, they may tell a few people but, if you do wrong by someone, they will tell everyone, so here I am, hope this warning helps someone. Do not buy from this company! They do not back their warranty! We purchased a leather couch and a loveseat with their 5 warranty. Within a couple of years they began cracking and peeling at the seams and folds. When we called Hudson's to file a claim to have them repaired, we were quickly told that it was wear and tear and not covered. They told us this without actually seeing the messed up areas. We have found quite a few people who have experienced the same issue and we are working to find more. I purchased a bedroom set here in early September. After MUCH discussion, I finally received my furniture in October. The furniture is beautiful. One of the negative experiences I had was that it seemed no one could tell me exactly where my furniture was and when it would be delivered. After speaking with the salesperson, store manager, district manager, the owner of Hudson's Furniture, and finally the container company, I was able to find my furniture and have the delivery set up. In the end, I believe the folks at Hudson will be educating themselves on container shipments and will be better able to assist their customers. Hudson's customers should not have to work this hard to get their furniture delivered in a timely manner. I worked entirely too hard to have spent that much money in this store. The district manager offered $275 for my inconvenience. I spent HOURS of my time trying to locate my set. In addition, I was unable to host an event at my home (as I did not have furniture in one of the rooms). Going forward, I will ONLY purchase "in stock" items at this store. read more

So after writing my review i was contacted by the store "coach". Unfortunately he stated that my bar was in the texas office and that it would be shipped and received the end of the month -- however the bar stools would not arrive until mid july. He stated he was at the mercy of the supplier -- well, I am at the mercy of Hudson Furniture in Brandon which has nothing but horrible reviews -- should have checked that first. My mistake!! I have cancelled my order -- now let's see how long it takes to get my money back -- Unfortunately I do see a law suit in my future as this has been nothing but a fight from day one -- the only smooth transaction was paying for my merchandise -- read more
