Husband ordered French Dip, add Provolone, with French fries, which turned out to be shoestring - not necessarily a fav of ours. Sandwich wasn't anything notable, and we opted not to take leftovers. Took a sugar cookie and an orange sweet roll to go. Pricing is fine for meals, though think $3.49 for a drink and $5.99 for a roll a bit steep. Solid food of the chain diner variety (think Perkins or Shari's), though this is a local establishment. I had the French Dip and a side salad. The sandwich was a good size and had plenty of roast beef. I would have liked a thinner cut on the meat, and the ciabatta roll is a little too soft. It's called a French dip, in part, because it should be on a French roll, something more crisp like a baguette. The side salad was a generous size. The lettuce was a mixed, not just blah old iceberg. The meal also came with a couple thick slices of undercooked, fresh baked bread. If soft soft bread is your thing, you'd love it. And, I was given a sugar cookie with pink frosting. I guess it comes with; I didn't order the dessert. The sugar cookie was buttery and very sweet. I ate a couple bites and gave the rest to my teenager who scarfed it down. read more

What keeps me coming back is their smoked chicken pasta salad (If that doesn't sound great to you, you just have to try it! Here to review them catering my wedding in March of 2023. I HIGHLY recommend Hug hes for your wedding needs. The price was extremely affordable especially because each dish came with bread, butter, salad, mashed potatoes, fruit, and a slice of cake and your entree. This means we didn't need to spend a lot on cocktail food because we knew the guests would be eating well shortly after. We had SO MANY comments on both the chicken cordon bleu and the pot roast but just as many comments on the potatoes and bread/butter. Planning with them was seamless as well. They basically did everything with the venue and I didn't have to be involved in much at all for it to turn out so perfect (which I love). They also provided to go boxes for the leftovers and helped pack it all up. The only sad part was that since we didn't pay for anyone to serve the buffet food, people weren't sure how big a serving size was so we ended up having a lot of leftovers. I was fine with it though because the food was so good I could eat it over and over and over again but just a comment for others! They also provided a vegan option for a few of our guests and they also raved about their dishes too. One other item that was amazing was that they offer a free wedding tasting without committing. They let you taste a ton of their offerings for free and then decide if you want them. A lot of catering companies don't offer that and you just go with word of mouth. After trying everything we did and then hearing how amazing the pot roast was, it was an EASY decision to pick them! Working with Sherry and her team was amazing and made my wedding fabulous! We had 1 burger, 2 salads and an order of wings. $70 before 15% tip (take out) and was pretty disappointed with it. The two of us who ate salad had nothing but iceberg lettuce - and the tough, white waxy center of it was the most prevalent. There was a total of three spinach leaves in the two salads, no romaine or any other type of lettuce except the nearly inedible part of the iceberg. my salmon was an approximately 2 oz portion and cooked bone dry throughout. We threw away the bulk of both salads due to the lettuce, daughter said her steak salad was ok not great. They said burger and wings were as good as usual. read more

The food was good but service had multiple failures. An appetizer was ordered but never delivered. It was offered after the entrees had been delivered but was then declined. When the check came the appetizer still appeared. Drinks were ordered then forgotten. Staff were celebrating noisily in the eating area and shouting back and forth as they arrived and left. Been wanting to got to Hug-Hes for awhile, finally made it there for lunch. Unfortunately, I broke one of my cardinal rules, never get Mexican or Italian at a restaurant that does not specialize in that type of food. I was really in the mood for Mexican so.... The Mexican food was pathetic. It was a huge amount of food topped with tons of cheese but it was not good, authentic or appetizing. It came with two enchiladas which were some not so good filling stuffed in huge flour tortillas rolled very poorly topped with canned enchilada sauce. The combo came with beans and a burrito, none of the items were worth eating. So why the 3 stars vs. one or two, the beer bread and the wife's burger. Let's start off with the negative to get that out of the way. The place was pretty dirty. I met my wife at our table and upon sitting down and, letting my feet settle as I sat, there was a unpleasant crunching sound emanating from under the table. Looking under the table I discovered the culprit, breading from something fried and fries were littered under our table. This opened my eyes and I started looking around a bit closer and discovered the floor around every table was covered in filth. I guess they don't care much for keeping the place clean. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Putting aside the lack of cleanliness, the rest of the dinner was awesome! I ended up getting the Ruben and some sweet potato fries that were perfectly crispy. My wife got the pasta salad and I spent most of dinner piecing off her salad because it was very tasty. We were filled rather quickly and there was still tons of food left over, which was a plus. In closing, moderately priced quality food that will draw me back in the future. Hopefully they will have learned how to use a broom. read more

Came here on a date with my wife to this location for the first time. I've been to it a few years ago when it was by the hospital. I ordered the chicken fried steak and she got the chicken pasta salad. My sides were a salad and buffalo chips. Chicken fried steak - huge portion and I could tell it had homemade breading. The gravy wasn't the best but I loved the steak. Buffalo chips are amazing and I would recommend that. Chicken salad - if you've had this before you know it is a solid dish. The dressing they give you is delicious but my wife also likes to put ranch on it so she ordered a side of ranch and I must day it does add good flavor to it. They seem to have an updated menu from when I was there last. Lots to choose from. Of course the beer bread is awesome. After being away from here for so long I realize I need to make this a more frequent stop. read more

Family of 4 stopped in here on our way to the Washington Terrace Playhouse last night. Our order was fish n chips, chicken fried steak, and prime rib sandwich to which sister and I split. Everyone seemed to like their food. The prime rib sandwich was exceptionally good although french fries were a bit greasy. Our young waiter was pleasant and friendly. I see on menu beer and wine are available, yet we were never brought or told about a selection. My only complaint was a nasty fly that made its way to our table. I went to try it out late one night with my girlfriend. It was around closing time but we had enough time to grab a quick sandwich and take off. The service and the food here were amazing! I decided to go with the Roasted Turkey Avocado, and my girlfriend went with the BBQ Pulled Pork. They were both good but I think the BBQ Pulled Pork was probably the better choice. My girlfriend still talks about that sandwich and it has been several days later so Im pretty sure it was really good! They have the choice between the regular fries and the buffalo chips. GET THE BUFFALO CHIPS! They are so good. We got both and decided that we made a mistake on not getting Buffalo Chips for both of us. I can't say enough about the service here either. There weren't too many people so we were well taken care of. We had a waitress by the name of Autum who was super friendly and incredibly helpful. She seemed confident in what she was doing and made sure we had everything we needed. She was great and part of the reason why i loved eating here so much.
