Food was quick, coffee comes hot, service was ok but what ruined it for us were the eggs. My wife got the corn beef hash and the scrambled eggs came overdone. I ordered the eggs benny and the egg seemed hard boiled and didn't have any run whatsoever. I thought maybe it was an off day but after reading the reviews this seems to be a common occurrence. I'm giving it a 4 even though the food was a 3 because the employees are so nice!!! The service was excellent! We had a breakfast sandwich, 2+2+2 and a waffle with fried eggs and. Avon. We ordered a lemonade and a side of scones. Everything was good ish..... except the scones was so greasy I couldn't eat it. The bacon was on the crisp side and perfect for me but all in all just a more expensive Dennys nothing too great or even too bad , other than the scones. The place was cleanish! I could see where they tried to wipe a spill off the wall in our booth and the floor near the kitchen/register had spills. read more

Whole experience was great here. The hostess guy was very nice and seated us right away. The waitress was friendly and attentive. My food was delicious and it was a big enough portion for me to bring home leftovers. The tater tots were so good and crunchy. My husband got the breakfast burrito and he loved it. I had a little bite and it was great! Very cheesey and tasty. My toddler got the kids cheese pizza with fruit substituted for the fries. The fruit bowl exceeded my expectations! It had blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, watermelon, strawberries, and cantaloupe! Needless to say my little guy loved it. The restaurant is clean and bright. The bathrooms are also well maintained. I like this location a little better than the Layton one (but love that one too!). This one just a bit brighter and more open feeling. Folks I saw a review about Rambling Roads Restaurant in Perry, Utah and it was fantastic! A truly amazing place to visit! There was only a small detail that I believe was left out! There happens to be another place, located on Wall Ave in Ogden, that is very close to 12th street. I just had to check it out. The only problem that I in countered was, my wife and I, on a Sunday afternoon close to noon, had a 10 minute wait to get a table, this was do to the fact that so many people had already found this place! What a shame that it isn't twice the size it is, then you might not have to wait, the staff really had their act together. They gave us a beeper that when your table was ready, it went off. The entire experience truly turned out to be amazing! My wife ordered a meal consisting of a sandwich and fries because she isn't a breakfast person, while I on the other hand, can have it any time. I'm personally not very young anymore but that Sunday I was treated to the absolute best omelette I have had in my lifetime! I ordered my omelette with cheddar cheese and sausage in it, then I felt like I should try their sausage gravy on top of it!! This turned out to be the greatest meal for my breakfast that I have ever eaten!! I kept telling my better half that we would definitely eat here again! She was very impressed with her meal and agreed with me that we would be eating there again! Not a bad wait at all, fabulous food for the price, and a truly amazing experience that we'll have again! Came in for brunch with my husband and despite the parking lot being very full, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was a little stand offish at first but once I asked for her recommendation of the food, she opened up a bit. She recommended the Belgian waffle with strawberries so I ordered it plus a side of eggs and bacon. My husband opted for the eggs Benedict and we also added a side of biscuits and gravy to try. Oh, and two cups of coffee. Our food came out quickly and it was just okay. There was a bit too much hollandaise sauce on the Benedict, the waffle was a little warm when it arrived, and the biscuits and gravy were just a lump of mush. The food was definitely better than some other diners we had been to, but nothing amazing. We were also taken aback that our order was close to $70. No fret on paying it; just a bit surprised how expensive diner food is getting these days. Maybe we'll scale back our order next time and try some other items. read more

You know, you can't fault a no-nonsense restaurant that has recipes created with server input. Unassuming location not far off interstate near a Sleep Inn. They serve alcohol, and the Bloody Mary is quite good. Laceey was our server and very helpful with our selections. I ordered the Casa Pasta Rosa - one of her recipes - with a salad with house made raspberry vinaigrette; just a touch sweet & very tasty. Husband had the country friend steak dinner and the cheesy potatoes, at Laceey's suggestions. Much like Mormon funeral potatoes, but better. Service was great, we grabbed a piece of pie to-go at checkout as well as a jar of homemade strawberry jam. Can't wait to go back! read more

The staff was extremely disruptive and unprofessional. They were yelling and screaming as they were flirting with each other like a bunch of Junior high kids. I probably wouldn't have cared but the food is just heated up Cisco food. This is a place you want to love, but it's not worth it. Far better places in town that make their own gravy. That's pretty much a standard for me. I can go home and pour my own stuff out of a can. By the way, my server was great, but I could tell he was extremely annoyed with his co-workers. My guess is if they don't get rid of those extremely unprofessional workers, they'll probably lose him pretty quickly. read more

We love Ramblin Roads! Their food is always delicious and the staff is so nice. We walked in tonight at 7:30, not realizing they close at 8, and they were as nice as could be. We didn't feel rushed and every time we apologized, they assured us that it wasn't a problem. Everything we've tried here has always been fresh with a genuine home made taste. A few of the items that we've ordered that we love are the crepes, the Malibu chicken, the meatloaf and the strawberry walnut salad. The breakfast is always a delicious option, too! This is the second time I've been here. The first time I tried getting into Jeremiah's Restaurant, but as always, it was super busy so we found this place on Yelp, and I'm so glad we did. The food was so good then, so I convinced my husband to come here today instead of Jeremiah's. It did not disappoint. I ordered the Rambling Platter and substituted the toast for pancakes (they were fluffy and somewhat chewy). Loved it. My husband got the Biker's Platter with the biscuits and gravy. Delicious. The building and interior is very outdated, but clean, and the waitresses always nice. This is my new favorite place for breakfast. read more

3 1/2 out of 5. Went here with one thing in mind... the scones. Sills in Layton has won our culinary hearts with their wonderful scones, and we thought we would try these. They failed to meet the quality of Sills' offering. They had a slightly discernible difference in taste, like they were cooked in stale oil. The honey butter was also not as sweet as Sills'. Their homemade raspberry jelly was succulent on the scone, however. read more

I went there with a friend who is older and loves old school dishes so his opinion is very different than mine.....he loved his meatloaf. If you are looking for carb/meat heavy large portions I'd recommend Ramblin. If you are looking for something above average for dinner, I would look elsewhere. My dinner was fine, it was pretty basic. The green beans were right out of a can, the mash/gravy was better than average but the hamburger "steak" was 2 burger patties with onions, bacon, mushroom and a Monterey cheese blend, not cheddar. If you say cheddar on the menu and you use something else, that is an issue for me. Unfortunately, the biggest issue I had was with the drinks. I ordered a Bloody Mary and when it came out, it was pretty clear that whoever made it used mix, alcohol and then topped with crushed ice so the top of the drink was ice water and the bottom was warm. The server didn't even bring it out with a straw or celery garnish......there was an olive and lemon..... Fortunately there was a straw at the table because I didn't use my straw from my original order of water. If you pour the alcohol and mix over cubed ice and give it a slight shake you would end up with a much better drink. I was an idiot and ordered a second and it came out just like the first. (I don't know why I expected something different...). Again, it came without a straw so I had to ask for one and then stir the drink. (Yes, it was the same warm combo in the bottom topped with crushed ice.). I know it is Utah and I should lower my expectations but this is bartending 101. Overall, a meh meal and lackluster bartending/service. read more

I got exactly what I asked for (had some special requests) and the server, Angela, took her time to understand what I was trying to order. I really appreciated that. This place was great! Not a long wait. Best part was the service. Our waitress was amazing! So friendly and had fun with our little girls. We came for breakfast. Food was good. Our girls got the silly face pancakes and they loved it. I got eggs and bacon, pretty good, next time I will ask for my hasbrowns extra crispy. We love Ramblin Roads! We go somewhat frequently after skiing. I love their veggie omelette and ramblin potatoes. There isn't a dish we haven't liked! I think it's great value too; we usually leave with leftovers. In my opinion, I think it's better (and less crowded) than Jeremiah's. It's a bit dated, but it's clean and has a nice diner vibe. I love Ramblin Roads... now in Layton! I have been going to Ramblin Roads in Bountiful for years and have visited the one in the Ogden area too. But now I have one very close to home and we love it! It is a great place for breakfast or lunch... good competition for Sills and Granny Annie's... and way bette than Black Bear! They serve high quality food and it is consistently good! Dirty restaurant, not great tasting water, coffee with the same flavor as the water (of course). We thought we'd try somewhere new for this Sunday morning so we decided to drive to and try Ramblin Roads. We were both craving scones so we ordered 1 each, the scones were okay but tasted like old fryer oil. The honey butter was also borderline frozen and in a plastic container so it took some work to get any butter on the pastry. My fiancé ordered biscuits and gravy and said the biscuits had zero flavor and the gravy was okay, the hash browns without ketchup tasted like bad butter and soggy with no crunch, my ham and cheese omelette was okay with ketchup on it. Overall I don't think we will be back at least for awhile. read more

We liked the breakfast food here. The prices are good and the food tasted great. The coffee was not bitter and tasted great too. The water has a weird tastes so it may be directly from the tap rather than filtered water. I had the Sundance scrambler which was a bowl full of goodness. Perfectly cooked shredded hash browns, the meats of bacon, ham, and sausage, followed by eggs cooked to choice which I chose scrambled, topped off with country gravy. The combo was perfect. I do wished I had ordered the eggs over easy, I think it would have made the dishes even better with a runny egg. I opted out of the toast and upgraded to the scone. The fry bread (scone) was good and came with fresh made strawberry jam and honey butter. My wife liked her breakfast burrito and it was quite large. She ordered the pancakes and they were good as well. It is a good diner to try and I'd like to come back and try some other items. We ended up taking food home because we had too much. read more
