Found a coupon in the Hometown Values magazine and opted to give Rhumbi a try as I have not been here in years. We got meals for four of us, and we all tried something different. It was delicious! The service was fast, and the employees were friendly. It was a bit pricey for the type of restaurant it is, but with the coupon, it was affordable. Without coupon, it would have been $65 for four of us. I had the sweet pork salad, and it was wonderful. I highly recommend giving it a try! We will be back! read more

Great place to grab island food that's not just teriyaki chicken and rice. I usually get the mahi mahi blackened chicken. The rice is delicious. I also get the salad with fruit. This meal is a delight! Also Rumbi had a lot of coupons that come in the mail and we use those. Recently saw they now do burgers. Register gal once gave me my more expensive fish meal free with a buy one get one coupon. Slightly dim lighting when I was there. read more

My go to: Rice bowls with chicken, veggies, brown rice and I switch up the sauce based on my mood. I always add a bit of Sriracha and kick it up a notch. My husband got the pork and it was amazing though. I'll definitely get that next time! I have to say though, this place used to be better. We had a to go order and there was not near enough sauce! My rice bowl was soooo bland! So if you order to go, I'd get an extra sauce!!! The sauces go in this order of preference for me: 1) Spicy Teriyaki 2) Jamaican Jerk 3) Honey Orange 4) Bali Island 5) Teriyaki (cuz you should always go spicy!) I like them all though (yesterday I had the Bali island and thoroughly enjoyed it). I've also enjoyed some salads, sandwiches, and fries here. I'm surprised I've never reviewed this place before! I go here more than enough. I really enjoy Rumbi's. The food tastes incredible and there is a lot of it. I normally get the half bowl of chicken with the Rumbi Rice (it really is one of a kind). And a side of sweet potato fries, because you can never go wrong with sweet potatoes. There is a fun atmosphere and fun people, outdoor as well as indoor seating, and you can choose between real silverware or chopsticks--go with the latter, it's always more fun to make a fool out of yourself. The reason I don't give it a full 5 stars is simply because of the pricing. It's a little on the high side and I have yet to figure out the best times to go, I know there are deals of the day, it's just hard for me to sway from the usual when I'm craving it! TIPS & TRICKS: * Again, grab a seat outside if it's nice enough. I love Rumbi Island Grill when I want take out that is inexpensive, but delicious and fairly healthy. Don't get me wrong, they have plenty of calorie laden food just like any other restaurant. But if you are wanting to keep that in check, it's pretty easy to find something in the menu that you feel like you can eat and actually want. I usually get a full size rice bowl with fire grilled chicken, brown rice, and steamed veggies, and ask for an extra sauce. I also like mine a little bit spicy so drizzle it with some Sriracha. And the full size is large enough that I will eat half, feel satisfied, and save the other half for lunch the next day, or split it with my husband or something. I also really like their fish tacos, and sweet pork tacos. read more

Also the manager Ryan was awesome, he was so kind and generous also when we were leaving he said good bye and that he wished us a good day. I stopped by for lunch and the place was not busy at all. I immediately ordered the voodoo salad to go. They asked for my punch card which was nice because many times I forget to give all these establishments the punch cards. I arrived back at the office, opened the container and the salad looked amazing. The greens were on one side, the chicken stacked nice and neat in the middle, and the tortilla crisps were on the other side of the container. The salad dressing was in a separate container as well. I poured the dressing all over the salad and mixed it all together. The flavors were there and very good. There was just enough dressing and chicken to compliment the salad. Island Mac is so yummy and I love the fresh veggies in the bowls, but what truly stands out to me every time I have been here is the manager, he is truly this stores most valuable asset! I have been here several times. They have several different options like hamburgers, salads, tacos and rice bowls. I like to get the rice bowls. You get them made to order, you choose your rice, meat, vegetables or beans and choose from eight different sauces. Today I got the rice bowl with brown rice, sweet pork, vegetables and spicy teriyaki sauce -- delicious! My husband had the fish tacos and said they were very good. The restaurant is always clean and the service is good. It is on my list of places to go for something a little on the healthier side. I'll be back. read more

This place is so clean and well ran even during the pandemic that I have a standing order all I have to do is call in and say it's Misty and they have my grilled shrimp tacos with Rumbi rice and ranch dressing ready to go in 10 minutes. Their "teriyaki noodles" are just spaghetti noodles with some sauce. They were also completey out of white rice when we went, so Rumbi was out of rumbi rice. Their vegetables are also undercooked. They forgot the side of beans that went with our tacos, and we didn't notice until we were already home. Pretty disappointing read more

Yum! I love Hawaiian food and this place doesn't disappoint. However, if you want the super mayo covered macaroni salad I've not noticed them having it. The manager that works during lunch time is super friendly and must be good at remembering people because he welcomed me back and remembered when I had been there 10 days earlier. Stopped in for lunch one day. We figured we'd try something on Riverdale Road that wasn't Zupas - but that's a different review! The service was friendly and quick and the sandwiches were big and tasty. We had the Luau Pork and Island Chicken sandwiches - one with fries and one with chips & salsa. Quite frankly, I didn't know the Hawaiians were big into chips and salsa, but what do I know... Next time I think I'll forego the sides and stick to the sandwiches for lunch. I love Rumbi! I love how you can personalize your rice bowls so much! The tofu is really good its firm and crispy which is impressive because many places aren't sure how to cook tofu correctly.
