Love HM!! Being from MPLS we are used to a lot of breweries. HM is a vibe! It's really big inside with a decent size outdoor area. Even if it's busy it isn't crowded. They have a lot of nice food trucks or you can bring in your own food which is nice. I've hosted a few meet ups here and HM is always a good time! I appreciate that they have sour beers which a lot of breweries don't carry sours. By far my favorite!

Mix of pour favor Mexican lager and loop-u-lunatic. And Chocolate factory meltdown milk chocolate.

Wow! So cute and great brews. Big space with original artwork and big seating areas with traditional and modern touches. Beer: I especially enjoyed the Loop'U-Lanatic and Juicy Brand Recognition IPA. The staff is very welcoming and we had fun playing games from their big collection. Fact or Crap was fun! Moe's BBQ was on site and ordered pork BBQ sandwich with coleslaw and chips. Additionally we got a side order of seasoned fries and hush puppies.

Hugger Mugger is a great space with outdoor, dog-friendly seating and picnic tables. Drinks are at the bar, many people bring or play board games that are available. Live music and events are frequently available on their social calendar and food trucks are on site most evenings. The scene is edgy, louder, and has dim lighting with front and rear entrances. Lots of parking available in a public lot out back (stairs accessible or sidewalk around to through the back entrance if needed). Street parking is also available. The staff and owner are great - First Friday is such a fun addition to the community. Sours are great! Gift cards and growlers available.

Beer, beer, beer! Cool spot, great staff, and food trucks. I have had great luck at finding great breweries. Hugger Mugger did not disappoint. It has what you need...great selection and welcoming atmosphere. This has an Eclectic tasting room with tons of space for adults, families and singles. Enjoyed the food truck offerings. This time it was Moe's BBQ. Yummy pork sandwich and great hush puppies! What's not to like?! This is a cool spot with a great selection of brews.

This used to be an old pool hall.

Hugger Mugger was...interesting. It's in the middle of downtown Sanford amid some little shops. In a few years it could be more lively in the area if they can revitalize it. You walk inside and say, "wow." The space was not what I was expecting. It's gigantic with mustard yellow walls and some...eclectic...black and white artwork on the walls, in addition to the old checkered floor tiles. Apparently it used to be an old pool hall. It sorta smelled like one. It really just felt like the place was having an identity crisis. There was nothing cohesive about it. The beer I got was strange as well. I think it was some sort of strawberry wheat ale, perhaps? After a few sips I got a stomach ache and didn't touch it anymore. There was a food truck out back where there were picnic tables. This is me being picky, but they could do well to get rid of the concrete tables and benches outside. I scraped my legs in a few places and bled.

You can order a flight to try different beers.

Great place for a drink. They only have food trucks for food though. Service is excellent! Fun hangout!

Great beer, friendly staff. But if you're a brother or sister in Satan such as myself, be wary upon entering. Not nearly enough satanic art or imagery on the walls. HAIL, SATAN!

Beer is delicious. Staff very friendly and helpful. There is an ample amount of Satanic worship artwork and assorted other decor, which for myself is very unappealing. If your a brother in Christ I would be weary entering here.

Long post incoming: this is mostly for the crew…read more Giving this place 3 stars based on my average experience overall ever since I moved to the neighborhood over two years ago. I pop in about twice a month as my schedule allows. Vet trying to support a vet business and all. I'll lead by saying I spent years in the bar industry, including three years as a bar manager in a mildly large city, so I will be objective here as I know what ratings on Yelp can do. Beer: It's good and it is made with care. Not all styles meet their expected flavor profiles, but Static Line does well swapping out selections and trying new things. It's a young brewery so I commend it. That being said, I have only drank and served beer, I have zero experience as a brewer. All in all, I like to drink at their establishment. Also, the swag is on point...well done. Environment: Small but welcoming. They do a fine job of trying out different events and often have a food truck present, sometimes music too. Owners are usually present and say hello. Dogs are wonderful door greeters. Other dogs are also welcome. Facilities are very clean and comfortable. Staff: I'm going to struggle here. I have met some very engaging, good vibe bartenders at this spot. And I have met some that just seem to wish there were anywhere else. Presence is key in the service industry. And that does not just mean a bartender is "behind the bar." I have definitely received the "piss off" attitude before as soon as I arrive and have never given a reason (to my knowledge)...but I did recently push back and I think after two years of visiting it was justified. Never met anyone who simply brews beer at this place so I can't rate them. I'm sure it's probably done during the closed daytime hours. Speaking of hours... Hours: I have mixed feelings on this as well. Closed M-T. That's cool, these are non-busy days and brewers need to grind and who likes unnecessary overhead. Fully support it. Open on W-Sun. The open days' hours are sporadic to only be serving five days a week. The last 5-6 times I visited, there were very few people present at what I would consider peak hours. I would recommend adjusting. The clientele: Point blank, there's a lot of pissed off washouts showing up to this place more recently and they have stares, attitudes, and a sense of authority that I despise. There I said it. The staff appear to love them and that's fine. They show up regularly and you have to support your regulars...but only to an extent. If your handful of daily people are all that matter, go open a garage bar. If you're a customer, mind your stool, mind your words, and mind your business if you really want to support this place. If you're a bartender and you see your regulars trying to check people at the door, intimidate, or act like they work there, then either correct them or hire them if that's the business you want to run. A quality bar has three bench marks: making it the first 6 months, then the first two years, then the five year mark. Static Line has potential, but please stop thinking you have somehow "made it" yet because the competition is minimal. My family, my friends, my coworkers, and myself will be putting this place in a time out for a while due to recent (and recurring) unsatisfactory decisions from the staff and what they allow from their regs. I hope this place does well but I'd be surprised to see it open another 18 months, because it's sinking as a hangout spot. I've seen it happen time and again. Good luck.

Even tho we planned to arrive well before the band would start playing to have dinner, we were lucky to find a parking place, let alone a table. The interior inside is really lovely. The staff is terrific and the food was very good. I had the pastrami Ruben with the tomato & cucumber salad. Both were very tasty. My spouse had a BLT and a salad which she enjoyed. For dessert we shared the butter toffee bundt cake that has a caramel glaze and is topped with a small scoop of local ice cream. It was absolutely incredible!! We wanted to order another, it was so good! If we're in the area sometime I'd like to stop in for lunch and that mouth watering bundt cake. I would hesitate to come back in the evening, only because as the night went on there were some patrons so drunk that the atmosphere started feeling really amped up in a concerning way, like a fight was about to break out at any moment. It's not a big place inside so it could quickly get out of hand. I can say when something like that happens anywhere, it's not a situation to find yourself in as an innocent bystander. Had it not been for that element it would have been a really enjoyable night out, but alcohol and aholes don't mix well together. I'm still going to rate it high for the delicious food, friendly and attentive service, the beautiful interior, and the great music.

It was busy but not crowded,…read morethere was plenty of parking and lots of open tables inside and picnic tables outside to sit at. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day, especially for November. We first heard about the cider when we visited their booth at the state fair and had a sample of one of their ciders. We were told they were available in the Raleigh area at Whole Foods but when we went to Whole Foods there was only 1 bottle of 1 variety there. We decided we would just take the hour drive down to the actual cider house and then we'd get to try them all and have a huge assortment to choose from. This was not the case though and I have to say we were very disappointed. Very few of the varieties available on their website are available at the cider house. The bartender said some of them were seasonal but then why not update the website? They actually only had 10 varieties available on tap and unfortunately only 5 of those were ones we had picked out from the website. We are big bourbon fans and go around to a lot of the bourbon distilleries so I do understand that 10 varieties IS actually a lot, especially considering a small distillery would not have anywhere near that many varieties. I just wish our expectations hadn't exceeded the actual visit. The flights were really fun to taste, we got 2 flights so we each got to taste 8 of the varieties and we picked 4 out from those 10 that we liked. But then we also wanted to buy a bottle of each of the ones we liked for Thanksgiving and only 3 were available....
