    Crispy Calamari

We were in Atlanta craving some seafood, and Hugo's Oyster Bar popped up nearby -- solid choice. I ordered the jambalaya, and my father went with the catfish and red beans & rice. Let's just say... we both cleaned our plates. No complaints on either dish -- everything was flavorful and satisfying. We also tried the egg rolls, which were pretty good (wish I had grabbed a better picture). The calamari had great flavor, and I loved the sauce they added on top. The only thing was the breading separated a bit when I picked it up -- still tasty though. Of course, they're known for their oysters, and they have several options to choose from if that's your lane. Even though I didn't go heavy on the oysters this time, the overall experience was solid. All in all, this was a good seafood spot, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're in Atlanta looking for some cooked seafood with variety.

I always recommend this place to ppl! Especially the brunch. We had time to kill and this was only a few miles a way so we hopped into an Uber and made our way over. We had a very sweet young lady as our server. This place is casual, so no need to be super dressy. I had the oysters, beignets and the crawfish fried rice! All were wonderful !

Our new go to oyster spot and especially for Happy Hour! Amazing quality, fresh oysters and great service! We got a dozen raw and a dozen charbroiled. This is coming from an oyster snob so trust you will NOT be disappointed! They have a good list of beers as well as cocktails which my husband and I both enjoyed. Easy parking and very casual ambiance which we enjoy!

Upon driving up there is valet parking for $2.00. Walking up there is covered outdoor seating such was great because it was raining. Inside gives a pub feel. Absolutely loved my char grilled oysters. Then got my entree I enjoyed the stuff shrimp. Everything was great. I also recommend the tequila old fashion!! I sat at the bar and both team members checked on my to ensure i was satisfied!

Came here on a solo date night and it did not disappoint. The inside has a dark ambiance. I didn't really get to get a look around because I was trying to hurry before they closed. I do believe they have paid parking. Not sure if there is any free parking. I ordered oysters because that's what I originally went for and they were amazing! 10/10. Not too big, not too small. I ordered some Cabernet as well, which was okay... but that's more on my part because I'm still getting use to reds. I also ordered a shrimp and dirty rice dish that was really good! Loved the okra in it. I do think that it could have used a bit more flavor with the rice, but it was still flavorful! I would definitely come back for the oysters though!

Visited for a friends birthday yesterday. The lighting was perfect for pictures & the RC's oysters were 10/10. I would definitely come back and try other things. Riley & her sister provided great service.

My friend invited me to dinner at Hugo's recently and the experience was very pleasant. The restaurant is located in a busy area in Alpharetta. The atmosphere is laid back and casual. Valet is available. I ordered the garlic Parmesan beignets and oysters Rockefeller to start. Honestly, I wouldn't order the beignets again. They were a bit dense and flavorless. On the other hand, the oysters were outstanding. For my cocktail, I got the tequila old fashioned which contains pineapple vanilla infused reposado and lavender bitters. It was good, but a tad too sweet. For my entree I got the redfish Pontchartrain style. It included shrimp, crab and dirty rice. It was an additional $15, but the Pontchartrain style was totally worth it. The dish was bursting with flavor. Our server was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here.

Did a weekend brunch at Hugo's and it didn't disappoint. We happened to catch a time when their weren't that busy. We ordered the crab fingers, French toast, and crab stuff shrimp. Everything was very filling and I'd order it again. We also did bottomless mimosas which the staff was diligent to keep them refilled. The inside of the spot kind of reminded me of boardwalk restaurant, it was clean. Staff was on point and I'll be back to try the oysters!

We met a few friends at Hugo's last weekend for an early Christmas celebration. Our server, Tony, was fantastic! He made our dinner very special! First off, the Garlic Parmesan Beignets were freaking awesome! We added 2 more since there were 6 of us! We all raved about them. We will order more next time . The chargrilled oysters were also delicious! I ordered the crab stuffed shrimp and it was very tasty! Everyone loved their meals! We will definitely be back!

Got our table immediately after opting for the valet outside. Once we sat down we ordered some drinks and then of course had to get the corn bread and chicken salad croquets. The bread was delish with the honey butter but the croquettes were such a fun combination and delish! And of course if you come here you have to get the fried chicken and it's definitely plenty for 2 people and the kitchen split it for us which was great. The chicken was juicy and so flavorful and we got the potato salad which was delish. They brought us a small version of the banana pudding as well for the birthday which was so fun and I don't like banana pudding but this one was pretty yummy. Delish!

I have to give it at least four stars because the food was very good. It could've easily been five,…read morebut we had a strange experience with the service and a few things that just didn't make sense. Our waitress was not good at all. She had zero personality and barely a voice. At one point, she asked my husband if he'd like another Old Fashioned but never asked if I wanted another glass of wine, even though my empty glass was sitting right there. She brought his drink, dropped it off, and walked away again without asking. I ended up going without another drink altogether. Honestly, she sounded sick enough that they probably should've sent her home and had someone cover her shift. I ordered the steak, which came with roasted fingerling potatoes. I would've preferred mashed potatoes, but the fingerlings were perfectly acceptable. My husband ordered the fried chicken, assuming it would come with mashed potatoes since that's pretty standard with fried chicken. We were told mashed potatoes are only served on Wednesdays. That was just weird. They're mashed potatoes--not a once-a-week specialty item. Really? Since my husband wanted potatoes with his chicken, he asked if he could substitute the side it came with for the same roasted fingerling potatoes that were already being served with my steak. The waitress said she would have to ask the chef. She came back and told us the chef said NO. That made even less sense. The potatoes were obviously already being prepared and served in the restaurant, so why couldn't they simply be substituted as a side? He ended up with the very different fingerling potato salad with peas in it instead. He got his potatoes I suppose. The fried chicken itself was very good, as was my steak, which is why I'm still giving the restaurant four stars. But between mashed potatoes apparently being a Wednesday-only event, the chef refusing a very simple side substitution, and inattentive service that left me sitting with an empty wine glass, the whole experience was unnecessarily strange. Great food, but the service and inflexibility were an epic fail. This could've been a five-star experience.

Absolutely outstanding dining experience!…read more Eddie V's in Alpharetta is what I consider top-tier dining. From the moment we walked in, the ambience, attention to detail, and professionalism of the staff immediately let me know this was going to be a special evening. The atmosphere is elegant, upscale, and sophisticated without feeling stuffy, and the overall vibe is perfect for a date night, celebration, or simply treating yourself to a great dinner. Now let's talk about the FOOD! The bone-in ribeye was phenomenal. Beautifully prepared, incredibly flavorful, tender, and cooked exactly the way I wanted it. Definitely one of those steaks that makes you slow down and appreciate every bite. The crab fried rice was another standout. Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and packed with crab. It wasn't just a side dish sitting next to the steak, it could easily hold its own as part of the meal. And the lump crab cakes? Absolutely delicious. Heavy on the crab, light on the filler, with that perfect golden finish. If you're a crab cake person, do yourself a favor and order them. What really took the experience to another level, though, was the service. Everyone was attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience. There was never that feeling of being forgotten or having to chase someone down. The staff stayed one step ahead without hovering, which is exactly what excellent service should look like. Eddie V's understands that fine dining isn't just about what's on the plate. It's the entire experience. The food, ambience, presentation, hospitality, and attention to detail all came together beautifully. 5 stars without hesitation. The bone-in ribeye, crab fried rice, and lump crab cakes alone are worth coming back for. Add the atmosphere and top-tier service, and Eddie V's has officially earned a spot on my list of favorite upscale dining experiences in the Atlanta area.

Our friend, who joined us and has lived in Roswell for decades, recommended it. I booked our reservation using Resy. Zest qualifies for the American Express Resy Credit, if you have a qualifying card. This is a casual joint. It's spacious, with a bar, dining room, and outdoor brick sidewalk patio. At 3:30pm on a Saturday, the bar was mostly full, and by the time we left around 5:00pm, the dining room had already gotten decently busy. This place fits in nicely with walkable downtown Roswell. $5 paid parking is available in a surface lot directly across the street from the restaurant. Here's what four of us had: Cocktails * Pretty in Purple ($15) - Empress 1908 Gin, triple sec, cranberry juice, yuzu juice, simple syrup, dehydrated lemon Mocktails * Strawberry Basil Fizz ($7) - fresh lemon juice, strawberry puree, fresh basil, club soda, lemon wedge Sushi - Specialty Rolls * Allyson Roll ($16) - shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber, topped with eel, spicy mayo, soy glaze, tempura flakes, masago * Super Crunch Roll ($14) - masago, tempura flakes, spicy mayo, topped with steamed shrimp, soy glaze Oysters * Raw Gulf Oysters (6 for $11) - cocktail sauce, fresh horseradish, mignonette sauce Small Plates Graze * Edamame ($6) with garlic (+$1.50) - steamed soybeans, sea salt * Parmesan Truffle Fries ($7) - wasabi mayo, ketchup Surf * Salmon Poke Crunch ($15) - diced salmon, avocado, yuzu tobiko, spicy mayo, green onions, wonton crisps Turf * Thai Lettuce Wraps ($14) - chopped chicken, water chestnuts, red bell peppers, red onions, sesame seeds, carrot nest, Thai plum sauce * C.A.B. Steak Skewers ($16) - beef tenderloin, grilled red peppers, onions, zest sauce, sesame seeds In general, the food was fresh and tasty. There was not a single bad item. The menu has a good variety of options and my wife and I appreciated the lighter and healthier dishes. I thought the oysters were a decent value. I wouldn't say this is a "proper" sushi or tapas restaurant, but the food is good for what it is, which I'd describe as Americanized casual. Megumi was our server and she took great care of us. The floor was sticky. Zest opened in 2011, so it's stood the test of time. A second location opened in Cary, North Carolina in 2024.

I was not disappointed at all. Getting here you have to worry about parking because it's not free parking. There are spots and places around but generally speaking you have to either do street, lot, or parking garage parking. The parking garage is a little bit further away so I would not suggest that but there is plenty of parking lot parking. I'm just saying this because you're going to have to walk no matter what happens. There's a lot basically across the street and a lot basically on the block next to it but they are around $5 to $10. I didn't have a reservation but I still went in and got seated immediately. We got a seat in the back of the restaurant where they make and prepare the sushi so that was a good view. It's very nice and very clean there and the service was great. Mario was a server and took really good care of the table. He was definitely a boon and I would have no problem with him waiting on the same table that I was at again! Super cool guy. Diablo roll - So the roll was very good and very tasty. It was a nice sized roll and it had a really good flavor to it. Would I get it again? I would. Ramen - The ramen was good. It had very good presentation and everything like that, the only thing I needed was to add a little razzle dazzle to it. So the ramen itself was savory but it didn't have a punch like I would like. So I just asked them for some chili oil and that took it right where it needed to be. If you don't like spiced then that's not applicable to you LOL. But I like savory and heat and this fixed everything and made it right with the world! I thought this was a really good place and I would love to go again. Actually. They have a couple of other rolls that I would like to try.

I finally got to attend this place and always wanted to try it since I moved to the Atlanta area…read more I've heard nothing but great things about it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant inside meaning it's good for a date, a night out with friends or family, or a great place to celebrate for a prom or graduation. It's more upscale than a traditional restaurant however I loved it! I came here with my business coach since I won a competition and the prize was to have lunch at the place of my choice. She ordered the soup of the day, which was like this cheddar soup that came with these two sauces, which one of the sauces was a jalapeño based sauce, which was spicy, but not too spicy to wear it wasn't edible. She did like her soup and she also ordered the lobster and smoked Gouda ravioli for her entrée. She had no complaints considering she bagged the food up to go and wanted to finish it right there, but she couldn't. Lol. I ordered the twin seared chicken, which is actually half a chicken pan seared. My chicken was so delicious! It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection to where it was fall off the bone. Just how I like it! The rice and the green beans paired well with it. My rice was cooked well, meaning it was not mushy or hard. And my green beans were a great consistency as well. My little one had a chicken tender salad since she loves cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, pretty much anything that comes in a salad that's not the lettuce. Lol. I must say I was impressed by the size of the salad because it was huge for a child. It would be great as a size salad for an adult. The chicken tenders were an amazing size, bigger than what most restaurants would give especially for a child's plate. I was highly impressed by the size of the portions for the children because the price is pretty standard for a kids meal entrée in comparison to other restaurants that give less. Our service was awesome! I wouldn't expect anything less considering the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was attentive, and he even bagged up both of our meals for us. This place is a 10 out of 10 and yes, I will be frequenting this restaurant a lot more in the future, even if it's by myself to sit at the bar.

They needed to clean the booth, so we waited, but when we were taken to our seats, one side of the booth still had cocktail stirrers on the seat. (Likely 4 smaller people would have been able to squeeze into that booth, but knowing we had 3 larger adults in our party of 5, I asked if we could move to a table.) Moving to the open table required a manager's override. Very thankfully, a waiter asked if we'd been helped, when he noticed us standing near the hostess stand, and explained that a manager needed to make the change to a table with chairs. (The hostess did not explain that to us.) The waitress at our table was polite to us and provided excellent service, but it was clear she was trying to rush us along. I ordered the almond encrusted trout, which was okay, but the mashed sweet potatoes were served cold. (Maybe it was wrong of me to assume they would be served warm, as I have had sweet potato salad at a Korean restaurant that was served cold, but seeing that my husband's mashed potatoes were steaming hot, it was another disappointment.). When we told them that we were there for my husband's birthday, they did comp us the cost of a dessert and put a lit candle in the desert for us. However, the overall experience and food were just okay, not great, as we had hoped.
