I have a meeting coming for quite some time and I finally made it in. The place is a really nice place if you wanna go ahead and meet some people at the bar or sit outside on a covered patio. It's free parking in Sandy Springs because it's in a shopping center so you don't have to worry about paying for parking. The menu itself is very small so you're not going to have a lot of things on there to choose from but what you do pick is probably gonna be really good though. The menu is usually only one page. Now if you flip it over the wine list is extensive or decently extensive considering the fact that it's not a winery but you have a massive amount of options . Last time I was there I sat at the bar and Rob was super cool and really gave great customer service. No complaints about that . Brooklyn favorite Reuben - the Reuben was a really good sandwich. It came hot with melted cheese on there and sauerkraut and it was a hit. It came with fries but you can actually get a different side if you want. The Reuben sandwich was very good and very filling. It wasn't overly stacked like I'm used to back where I'm from but at the same time they definitely put a nice amount of meat on there so you won't be hungry after you finish. Avocado egg rolls - I tried the avocado egg rolls and they were okay but it's not my cup of tea. Personally I don't actually like avocado and it was pretty much 90% avocado inside there. At the same time it wasn't bad. If you like avocados then this is really gonna be your bag. It comes with a really sweet, maybe a teriyaki kind of sauce, but it's actually good and it helped. I'm just not a fan of that so I can't take that away from them. Lobster bisque - the Lobster Bites were okay. It tasted just like it was supposed to. It was still very lobstery and creamy so I have to give them that. It was pretty good. I only had a little bit but at the same time I thought it was good for what it was. We were in the area nearby and decided to go get a snack. As we were walking, we stumbled across this unassuming neighborhood gem. It wasn't super crowded, so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was welcoming and answered all of my questions as a first-time customer. Ordered the Lobster Bisque, a glass of wine, and Fried Okra. The Lobster Bisque was amazing! I can still taste it as I am writing this and it was a definite win for me! Nothing super fancy about this place, but the vibe that night was just right for my mood. I recently dined at Brooklyn Cafe in Sandy Springs with my wife and tried their steak special, a New York strip, recommended by our waiter. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment--the meat had no flavor and was extremely tough, though it was cooked properly to a medium rare, the mashed potatoes lacked flavor as well. Our waiter mentioned he's worked there for twenty-two years, so I expected better service. This place is such a local gem. I had dinner there this week with a couple of friends and once again, Brooklyn Cafe did not disappoint! It was on a Monday night, and when we left, it was packed! Be sure to make a reservation for sure! We asked for, and received, a quieter table away from the bar. A group of regulars are always there having a great time. It's always a happy, warm, friendly vibe. I had the halibut special and it was perfection. They do such a good job with their fish preps. One friend ordered the seasonal gazpacho and a side salad, while the other ordered the steak salad. She said it was the best steak she's had in a long time. I love that you can come for something as simple as fish tacos or something a bit more upscale with their fish and steaks. Came here to celebrate my cousins birthday. It's a nice size place with a bar at the entry. We were seated in an enclosed area that I assume they use for larger parties. Our server was training but she did a very good job. I started with the fried oysters which were really good we ended up ordering an additional order. I had the special which was halibut the fish was a bit dry but well seasoned and the string beans were blanched but rubbery. We believe they waited for the steaks and allowed the other food to come out cold. My daughter's burger was burnt, but she said the fries were good. Not impressed with the service, when you walk in, no one greets you for a long time. Then menu is a little misleading. The server suggested a crab cake salad and I assumed it would be priced AS A SALAD around $16. Then check comes and it's $21 for a small portion... I see pictures of previous orders and see two crab cakes and green beans so I asked her I thought this was a salad and not a plate and she said oh it's the same thing, you just get the option to do a salad or with green beans. I wish she would have said the price before suggesting because I would have never paid $21 for one small crab cake and a side salad that was mediocre. The crab came itself was delicious. My mother-in-law just moved in across the street and we took her here for her birthday. Now I have moved into her spare bedroom so that I can eat dinner here every night. My wife doesn't approve but my wallet does! Delicious food, affordably priced and great service! Get the creole dish and upgrade to include shrimp, thank me later. The Ruben is huge and amazing. And I would eat the burger everyday for lunch, if my waist line would let me and it's cheaper than your former favorite burger place. We had an early evening reservation at Brooklyn Café following an afternoon play at City Springs Theatre. The walk from the theater to the restaurant was short and pleasant, and we left our car in the theater's parking garage -- very convenient. The restaurant itself is very clean, with mostly booth seating and a few tables near the bar. Speaking of the bar -- it was absolutely packed. Despite the crowd, we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. One thing that surprised us was the menu -- it was much shorter than what I had seen online or in photos from other reviews. There were no burgers, and the only sandwich option was their Reuben. My wife ordered the "Brooklyn Famous Reuben," which she really enjoyed. I chose "Jack's Creole Chicken and Sausage." I'll admit, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. The dish consisted of a grilled chicken breast and sliced sausage served with rice in a creamy sauce. I had anticipated something more akin to a stew or gumbo -- something slow-cooked with andouille sausage and the classic Cajun "holy trinity" of vegetables. Still, while the presentation caught me off guard, the flavors were solid and enjoyable. Overall, Brooklyn Café delivers a pleasant dining experience with great service and a cozy atmosphere. We happened upon Brooklyns during the "off hours" around 3:00 pm on a Monday- the bar was full, and many tables occupied- and you could tell right away this was a place where many locals go which usually is a great sign- and it was. There was a good crowd for 1:30, but I think there are a lot of regulars that keep the restaurant busy all the time. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, with a friendly, responsive serving staff that fills your water glass before you have to ask! My wife had the smoked salmon salad which was delicious as well. I haven't eaten at Brooklyn Cafe in over 15 years so I thought that it was still small, cozy and intimate Italian, which is definitely not the case anymore. I understand that the strip mall it's in is undergoing a face-lift, but the entrance was scrunchy and cold, and neither the restaurant side on the right, nor the bar side felt conducive to a quiet and warm dinner out on a frigid night. I certainly plan to return when they've finished revamping the restaurant because ... THE FOOD. OMG the crab cake salad was heavenly as well as the steak salad. Both were dressed perfectly and I normally ask for dressing on the side, but these were just right - not dripping in food-lube, nor bone-dry. But the crab cake was really the stand-out of the meal. Our server! He was a really friendly, nice young dude, who was much more attention when we first arrived and were ordering, and not as easy to find when looking for dessert and a check. (Dessert was white chocolate bread pudding, and I'm not a sweets-eater, but one nibble elicited many a mmmm from me. The parking lot! Easy to get in and out of and find a spot but only during late afternoon-early evening hours. I tried to go here on a weekday lunch time with my Mom and there were literally NO spots. She is handicapped and even those were all taken. I had to vulture around like a shopped at a mall during the holiday season and look for people walking to their cars. I guess all of the dining choices in this strip are popular. So long story short. I'll go back when construction is complete. I'll eat crab cakes. The presentation of the lobster bisque was so cute. I should have taken a pic. They also sat us at the closest booth which was nice as my mom is elderly, frail, with tremors. Other customers were super nice as well helping with the doors. There is a tiny ramp near the doors which was a little awkward, but handicap parking was too far away. Finally decided to try this place out after years of driving by it. Did a late lunch and sat at the bar, where Margie was my server. You'll find this place off the hustle and bustle of Roswell rd, nestled quietly near the new Sandy Springs fire station. Margie was awesome and served me up a glass of Sauvignon Blanc (from New Zealand, which has the best Sauvignon Blanc). I ordered the blackened chicken Sammy with tomatoes. The Sammy wasn't too spicy but cooked perfectly. The tomatoes were delicious! Enjoyable meal and atmosphere. Seems to be a lot of regulars that come here, which is great for keeping the business going. Will be back again! I've dined at this restaurant many a time. Their burgers, crab cakes and Reuben Sandwich are well known and excellent. I tried their short ribs tonight. The ribs came to the table in watery and tasteless jus. The carrots appeared to be canned and watered down flavorless. Generally I was disappointed. They could do so much better. read more

While this menu isn't my favorite from the start I was surprised upon eating there how much I liked it. I ended up with two appetizers, the fried green tomatoes and the special filet mignon fried rolls. Both were very tasty. The team outing here was fantastic! All the food choices were wonderful. The boss choose this place as it's her go-to spot when eating out. The amazing smoked trout dip was interesting. The dip came with saltine crackers which seems like it's a mismatch since the crackers were too salty. The trout dip itself was pretty good but wasn't super flavorful. It's parallel to tuna but with less of a fishy smell imo. The avocado egg rolls with crab was surprisingly good. It comes with two giant rolls but cut in half so there are four pieces to share. It just sounds really bizarre with knowing egg rolls are fried. The exterior was a deep fried state sort of like crab rangoon. There was plenty of avocado stuffed within this giant roll with crab bits throughout. The lobster bisque was super tasty. It was a creamy concoction with a mild flavor profile. I suppose if I had added the sherry shot into the mixture it would have made a difference, but I don't think I have ever seen it come out separately before. I think it was good, but I can say I've had a more flavorful bisque elsewhere. The fig & walnut salad was really tasty as the coworkers commented on how good it was. It was a simple salad but made some of us wow'ed as we tried it. The fig and blue cheese pieces were just enough as to not overpower anything. The scallop special with risotto was amazing! The x5 scallop pieces were humongous. The squash butternut pieces were tasty as well, and I'm not one to be in favor of vegetables. And the risotto was super creamy and cheesy. It's rather better with heated leftovers. The bread pudding appears to be a crowd favorite. It was really warm and gooey when they brought it out. I guess this was something that the boss must have had before so she knew it would be good. The key lime pie was equally good. The texture was just right with the tartness level. Even the crust's crumbles were tasty. And somewhere during the course of our meal, the table ordered a white and red wine. The boss said that the prices are pretty decent here and that the alcohol was pretty legit. I must say that even though the food's good, the prices were on the higher end. But then you'd have to account for the area you're in. But service was lovely. The good was great. And for a Wednesday night, this place was pretty packed. read more

We ordered the green fried tomatoes starter, rueben sandwich with fries, and the steak sandwich special with chilled asparagus. The green fried tomatoes were really good with a white tangy sauce. I forgot what the sauce was but the whole thing altogether was delicious. BUT, imo, too expensive for the price. It was $9 for three small slices of tomato. Rueben was alright, the bread was buttery and toasted, but the meat itself was a little stringy. Fries were great. The steak sandwich was alright. I liked the rueben better. Chilled asparagus was good, 4 big thick asparagus shoots in a sauce. The sandwiches were reasonably priced as they were big sandwiches and had sides complimentary. Service was super nice. The waitress we had was chatty and upbeat and attentive. It was busy when we got there with most tables full which was around 12:30ish, but cleared quickly and was quiet by 1:30. My friend treated me to lunch yesterday at this wonderful restaurant. Had been a long time since I had been there. Decor a little different but food and service still top notch. I had a delicious Caesar salad topped with grilled shrimp. Lettuce was so fresh and croutons super crunchy. Shrimp was grilled to perfection. Want to give a shoutout to our waitress Sam. We have been customers here for years, but don't come regularly. It had been a year for my wife and two or three years for me. We both chose the same Creole dish and it was an excellent choice - tasty, plentiful, and not too spicy. The chicken was excellent, as was the andouille sausage.
