I finally got to attend this place and always wanted to try it since I moved to the Atlanta area. I've heard nothing but great things about it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant inside meaning it's good for a date, a night out with friends or family, or a great place to celebrate for a prom or graduation. It's more upscale than a traditional restaurant however I loved it! I came here with my business coach since I won a competition and the prize was to have lunch at the place of my choice. She ordered the soup of the day, which was like this cheddar soup that came with these two sauces, which one of the sauces was a jalapeño based sauce, which was spicy, but not too spicy to wear it wasn't edible. She did like her soup and she also ordered the lobster and smoked Gouda ravioli for her entrée. She had no complaints considering she bagged the food up to go and wanted to finish it right there, but she couldn't. Lol. I ordered the twin seared chicken, which is actually half a chicken pan seared. My chicken was so delicious! It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection to where it was fall off the bone. Just how I like it! The rice and the green beans paired well with it. My rice was cooked well, meaning it was not mushy or hard. And my green beans were a great consistency as well. My little one had a chicken tender salad since she loves cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, pretty much anything that comes in a salad that's not the lettuce. Lol. I must say I was impressed by the size of the salad because it was huge for a child. It would be great as a size salad for an adult. The chicken tenders were an amazing size, bigger than what most restaurants would give especially for a child's plate. I was highly impressed by the size of the portions for the children because the price is pretty standard for a kids meal entrée in comparison to other restaurants that give less. Our service was awesome! I wouldn't expect anything less considering the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was attentive, and he even bagged up both of our meals for us. This place is a 10 out of 10 and yes, I will be frequenting this restaurant a lot more in the future, even if it's by myself to sit at the bar. read more

I really do love Brookwood Grill, but at the same time I find that I don't end up there that much post covid - and i often have to ask myself why it's not on the list. Honestly everything about the place is pretty on point, it's an upscale restaraunt with alot of exposed wood, spacious, well thought out originally. The staff has always been corteous and knowledgeable, the menu always a great diversity (main courses, salads, starters - you name it, always slightly original and inspired) Personally though, it's more of a 'bring a date spot' eating in the dining room (cozy setting) and the bar is a dark area. During covid they removed the patio, so there is actually no outdoor seating anymore. I think that's why I most find myself not going there - is the dining and bar areas aren't super to my liking, I like bright and airy feeling venues. But they do have some live music and specials every day during the week that do make it appealing to be here different days otherwise which is brilliant marketing. read more

So so disappointed in Brookwood Grill. I look forward to using my birthday coupon every year and usually it's a 5 star experience. But not this time! First, I called at 5:00 for a reservation at 5:45 and was told the earliest was 8:15. So we just went as walk ins arriving at 5:30 and seated immediately. Next we were seated 15 minutes before our server showed up... she wasn't bad but she wasn't good either. Next my friend ordered the ribs with salad and baked potato. The ribs and potato were great but the salad dressing honey mustard and hot bacon have been CHANGED and NOT FOR THE BETTER! He took 2 bites of his salad and declared it disgusting. I ordered my usual chicken tender salad with honey mustard and hot bacon dressing and I had poured it all over my salad before he mentioned how bad it was.... my salad was ruined! The hot bacon was cold tasting like canola oil and the honey mustard tasted like a sharp ground mustard. You use to get 4 chicken tenders but now it's 2 tenders cut in half to look like 4. The batter is still good but if course I ruined the chicken by pouring the dressing on before tasting it. When we asked the server she said yes it probably was changed but she didn't eat it so she couldn't say for sure. She could see that neither of us ate our salads mine being my meal and yet she didn't ask if there was anything she could do like replace with a different dressing maybe? I boxed mine up and took it home for my raccoons and possums and guess what they ate the chicken and left the salad. So disappointed because they use to have the BEST honey mustard hot bacon dressing! A few of us retired flight attendants meet every three months. This place was perfect. The ambiance was so good and the 8 if us were seated in the perfect place. They do have booths for 2 to 4 people. The staff were so friendly and patient, even though we had seen the menu online we took a while to order. The salads are huge and delicious. Dinner at Brookwood Grill last night with a grpup. VERY Disappointing with overcooked filet, overcooked salmon, and very poor service, but nice atmosphere. The poor food preparation and crappy service ruined the evening. Because we were a group, our server said we could not order our meals cooked to our preferred doneness and that all meals would be served medium with a pink center. WRONG! The filet mignon and salmon were served well done, dry, and inedible. Why can't they learn how to cook rather than waste what could have been delicious. Salad, mashed potatoes, fruit cheesecake, and peach cobbler however were excellent. On a scale of 1-10 the food was a 2, NOT recommended! So many other good restaurant choices around who value customers and will cook your meat to order. Don't waste your time or money at the horrible Brookwood Grill. Stopped by Brookwood Grill on a Thursday evening. The place wasn't too crowded, so we decided to grab seats at the bar. There's a piano right behind the bar, and a pianist was playing some familiar tunes, which added a really nice, laid-back vibe to the night. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We ordered food, and everything was really solid, flavorful and well-prepared. And the croissants? Buttery, warm, and honestly one of the highlights. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that we asked to have the NBA Finals game put on, and unfortunately, the bartender wasn't able to get it working. Not a huge deal, but it would've been nice to catch the game while we ate. Overall, a great spot with good food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. read more

Always driven past this place, but never actually stopped, had a family lunch here today, apparently it's been around for over 40 years!! the waiter was beyond friendly and super knowledgeable, memorizing all the specials, super attentive, food was awesome, so good. I forgot to even take a picture and started my meal right away, by the time the dessert arrived. I figured I might as well take a picture of that because they deserve a great review. I really wanted to love this place, but sadly the first impression was not a good one. A friend had recommended it a while back and I bookmarked it. Hubby and I came once on a Saturday afternoon but the wait was too long so we left. This week, I decided to make it my pick for date night and made a reservation to avoid another potential wait. The ambiance is nice and we were seated right away, but everything kind of went downhill after that. Service was painfully slow. It took more than 15 minutes for hubby to get the wine he ordered. This alone is a deal breaker in his book. We typically order an appetizer but did not find anything appealing to us on the appetizer menu. Too many seafood options and neither of us like seafood, so we just ordered our meals. Hubby ordered the grilled chicken salad and I ordered the chicken tender platter with mac and cheese and fries. My food was good. I thought the tender, though not as crispy as I would have liked, had good flavor. The mac and cheese was extra cheesy and delicious. Hubby's food, on the other hand, was a massive disappointment. The avocado was rock hard as if it had been frozen and the chicken was so hard that he struggled to break off a piece for me to try when he was showing me how awful it was. After already being salty about how long his wine had taken, the bad food added insult to injury and solidified the fact that returning would not be an option. I was a bit disappointed about this because I did enjoy my food, but I get why hubby was pissed. This is not a cheap restaurant, which is fine with us when the experience lives up to the price point, but unfortunately in this case, it did not even come close. To charge $21 for a salad and then serve rock hard avocado and even harder chicken is definitely not a winning strategy. Hubby refused to eat the salad, so he put it off to the side and shared my meal instead, which he agreed was much better than his salad. The server took the salad back and to her credit, she did make sure it was removed from the bill, which was appreciated. At this point, though, too much damage had been done. I removed Brookwood Grill from my bookmarks. We will not be back, and while I am glad that others have had better experiences based on the reviews, I can't say it's a place I would recommend. read more

Lately we hadn't gotten back on this side of town which borders Alpharetta and a local staple in the community.BG is consistent with signature dishes and the plentiful salads. I always enjoy the shrimp scampi pasta which is enough for 3 meals. This time the flavors were not there as usual. The sauce was sparse in giving the full flavor. The salad was great and my friend enjoyed her shrimp and grit cake appetizer. I won't write them off just yet. They have been here this long for a reason. Brookwood Grill has been a neighborhood gem for as long as we have lived in the area. It is rare to see a restaurant keep up its quality and pass the test of time like they have. Their ale-laced chicken fingers are unmatched by anyone else. The honey butter croissants that come with the salads are magical. This was my first time returning to the restaurant after my celiac diagnosis and was very pleased to see they had a gluten free menu with very good options - no bread or pasta substitutions but great options nonetheless. The service was fantastic. They let my mom choose her birthday dessert from the menu. Half price glasses of wine on Tuesdays. And their wine list is truly great. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. Dark wood ceilings, exposed brick and stone walls,... just beautiful. I'm so grateful they have done so well all these years. read more

Always loved eating at Brookwood Grill but lunch there a few days ago just didn't seem as good as usual. First the server came over and took drink orders. We said we wanted sweetener for the ice tea. She didn't bring it with the drinks so I reminded her again. 15 minutes later no sweetener and she's no where to be seen, so I asked another server to please tell our server we wanted sweetener. This must have made her mad bc she came over and put it down hard on the table and walked away. After that she seemed to have a bad attitude the rest of the time. Then i ordered the ahi tuna salad. As always, great service, great food and atmosphere is right up there. One plus is every time we have made reservations and we arrived on time we were seated directly - no waiting. While we go for the food and service - the fact we are not shuffled off to a waiting area moves my star count from 4+ to a 5. Never had a bad meal. Specials always seem to be top shelf. The only negative I can report is due to the reflective wood ceiling surface , which does contribute to the overall charm, the restaurant's normal noise level can be a little loud but the booths tame it back to an acceptable level for table conversations. read more

We have been coming to Brookwood ever since they open many years ago. We have been fans of their chicken fingers for many years and still think they are good. However they are not as good as they used to be. We were told they have recently changed the way they were prepared. While visiting Atlanta I had the pleasure of eating at this delicious restaurant. I was looking for something off the beaten path and outside of the city. I randomly picked this restaurant and could not have been more happy. Michael B was our waiter and was very attentive and made our night. Had the best Jazzed up Caesar salad It was to die for, just burst of vibrant flavors. Romaine, spring mix, roasted peppers, fresh Parmesan and croutons. There was also a honey butter croissant served with the salad that was the most amazing croissant ever. We had the ribeye and prime rib, sides: sweet potatoes and smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese. Not sure what's changed here lately. Me wife and I went for her birthday.After many times eating here it was quite evident that something was off. Our server was quite inexperienced and he was also doubling as a floor sweeper which according to his facial expressions and aggressive sweeping he wasn't too happy with. No wonder Ellen and Jack chose Brookwood Grill for dinner. Once you're registered, the restaurant gives you a free bottle of wine or discounted entree on your anniversary. (They might do this for birthdays, too.) My friends didn't want to lose out. Can't blame 'em. My assessment of Brookwood Grill is the same as it was ten years ago. Good, but pricy with a typical American menu. The side salad with an accompanying honey-drizzled croissant is very good. Worth the extra $6. Dressings are homemade. T ordered ribs. I liked them cause they're lean, but really, nothing extraordinary. My trout was fine. Again, good but not knock-your-socks off. They offer a few choices in preparation. Our server, a knowledgeable fellow named Michael, suggested parmesan crusted. So that's what I went with. A number of options for dessert. I thought the peach cobbler was okay -- but to be fair, cobbler isn't necessarily my favorite dessert. I'd rather have ordered the warm brownie a la mode, which is what the anniversary couple got. I think there are wine deals almost every evening. Tuesdays it's half-priced glasses. I went with the low-end cab to which Michael -- he's really funny! -- said "it's like sludge! You can get much better for a little more." I took his advice and asked that he also bring a taste of the sludge so I could see for myself. And son-of-a-gun, he was right! We don't go all that often to one of my daughter's favorite places but we did yesterday to use my BD deal Brookwood Grill sent me. I decided on the chicken tenders platter which includes mashed potatoes and a vegetable. When ordered our excellent waiter said they are the best in the city. No brag, just fact. So bitterly cold I had to go to the car and get a coat. 1 hour and we still didn't have our food. Prime rib was good, but 1/3 pure fat! French dip wasn't edible- left it entirely behind- didn't even take it home! Waiter didn't ask why. Noise level is so loud that 1) nobody at your table could hear you; 2) the waiter couldn't even hear your order; 3) you leave with a headache. Ordered the seared chicken pasta, and it was terrible. Sauce was bland, chicken was dry and sliced weird. It was nothing like the description on the menu. Speaking of weird, the enormous and oblong plates are ridiculous and unnecessary! How cumbersome it was to fit my plate on to the table and not bother the person next to me!! The large chunk of bread was too much. And why are there tomatoes in a Caesar salad! The service was good, but it would have been nice to have had a pitcher or carafe of water ON the table. If your party is a bunch of water drinkers, there's zero need to be bringing multiple glasses of water to the table. Anyway, I'll be going to elsewhere to redeem my lackluster meal. It's been years since I have been to Brookwood Grill so I was happy to see it's still in business. The spinach artichoke cheese dip is always a great starter. I ordered an old reliable Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad with honey mustard dressing...the tasty croissant is complementary. Excellent salad - it all goes together well with the sweetness of the raisins and honey mustard. I would not change out the dressing as it's perfectly paired. read more
