Best hot and sour soup in town!
    Angie M.

This restaurant chain is a fresh concept of creating your own meal. With rows of meats, vegetables and sauces, you become your own food master. After filling your bowl, you hand it off to the chef who cooks it on a huge grill and then gives back to you to carry off to your table. You are free to go up as many times as you wish. I like to get smaller portions and try new sauce mixtures. It's a good place for vegetarians, but make sure they tell the chef so they keep meats away on the grill. The hot n sour soup does not come with meal but it's spicy and one of the best I have had. Also the make your own s'more dessert is fun and delicious if you have room.

Love this place!!! You pay 10 or 15 bucks or so for a full meal and you can make your own wok basically. Fill your bowl as many times as you want with delicious meats and veggies and sauce. They cook it for you in front of you. It's a really cool experience and the food is super good too. You get a bowl of rice with a meal and it really brings it all together. Super good. In fact I would say this is the best restaurant for everyone in your party to get what they want in this shopping center. There isn't a better restaurant in this area.

    Yummy!

This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. Some people would say that they do not want to try it because it is Mongolian, but it is basically filling a bowl with meats, noodles, and vegetables and then adding sauces. Service is decent, but you mainly serve yourself. This is done by going up to a buffet like bar and adding meat, followed by noodles and vegetables and then sauce to a bowl. You then go to a grill and they cook the dish right there, with it taking about 4 minutes. I recommend trying a variety of things to find out what you like most. I also so highly recommend the s'mores at the end. They are $8, but well worth it. They bring a little tray like camp fire to your table and you make them right there. 5/5 stars.

I've been here loads of times, but this is my first actual review. The restaurant is pretty self explanatory; you get exactly what you put into your bowl. Service isn't spectacular, but it's rarely bad. You serve yourself for the most part; they typically leave a pitcher of water at your table. I would recommend branching out and trying different combinations to find what you like best. I like putting a wide variety of vegetables, meats, and sauces.

I was very satisfied with this HuHot. It was run by a bunch of kids for the most part, probably college kids. But service was great and food was amazing. We came in towards closing and they didn't rush us or close up. Had a great experience and will go back if in the area!

Pretty solid visit today at lunch. We were seated right away and our waitress came and ordered our drinks right away. I love that they have the coke machine with all the different flavors. We came at the right time because the frill wasn't too busy. I got my standard items I always get: beef , crab, cabbage, green beans, carrots & baboon shoots and rice noodles. I tried their seasonal black pepper sauce , it was really flavorful. I just did one ladle of it anymore and it would have over powered it. The waitress was really attentive and kept our refills coming and dirty plates cleared. She didn't smile much but was in no way rude. It was $31 for my dad, me and my seven year old. Not too terrible, better than going for dinner when they charge you the larger rate for a Noel of soup or a salad. I just wish it were cleaner. There is like a film of grossness on the floor, the columns and everything around the grill. Get a mop bucket and some dawn and wipe everything down!

They offer regular specials as well as lunch specials, and if you watch your mail, they also send coupons in the mail sometimes. Delivery orders can be called in or set up online. The exterior of the restaurant looks a bit run-down. It could use new repainting and other upkeep. However, don't let that put you off. The interior is much nicer. There are lots of tables and booths to sit at as well as televisions to watch. They have an interior restroom as well. You'll go in and you can sit down or order right at the counter and have your food brought to you. It's really up to you. We ordered a couple dishes, and we were served within ten minutes. For the two of us, with drinks, a meal that we could barely finish came to less than $15. My companion commented that his "spicy" food wasn't nearly as spicy as he was expecting, but he also really likes super spicy food, so that may not be the restaurant's fault. I particularly enjoyed my chicken Lo Mein. It was well-cooked and springy with no burned or overcooked noodles. Yum! The meals even came with yummy fortune cookies as well (the yummy kind, even. I really enjoyed them.) Staff was pretty efficient. We were able to communicate just fine to order our food. The guy seemed pretty focused on running the restaurant as quickly and efficiently as possible. He wasn't rude or unfriendly, but he wasn't particularly talkative or friendly either. I would definitely go back. The prices were good and the food was good. The interior was nice and welcoming, and it was an enjoyable meal. Besides, they deliver, and delivery always sounds good too!

Appetizers: Crab rangoons were huge and tasty. The wonton was a little tough in spots and not sure how much crabmeat was in there, but the size made up for it. Pot stickers were really yummy. We enjoyed these immensely. I give these an A. Dinner: He ordered broccoli chicken, a safe choice. He thought it was awful and tasteless. I never saw anyone salt Chinese food before! Claimed the chicken was mushy. I tasted it and had to agree that the brown sauce was pretty flavorless. I had the Szechuan triple. It was tastier due to the spicy seasoning but I had to agree that the chicken and the beef, while tender, seemed a bit mushy like it was soaked too long or something. I'd give it a C because I was hungry. Atmosphere/Service: Very clean. We were first dinner guests tonight. Waitress literally looked us and without greeting just tossed a couple menus in the booth for us. Food did arrive quickly after we ordered. I was informed there were no chopsticks. She did refill our water but never asked us how things were. Service gets a C. I don't think I'll be able to get my husband to try Hong Kong again. We've had good, fresh Chinese food before and this really missed the mark. Very disappointed.

But if you've ever spoken with a health inspector you will only eat at chain restaurants. Enough said. The food is all precooked and when you walk in you are greeted by someone ready to dish you up your meal. First you choose if you want a 1, 2 or 3 entree meal. Then if you want white or fried rice or lo main. Then your entrees. They have the classics such as orange chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken and seasonal and limited time specialties such as orange chicken with bacon or tempura firecracker shrimp. They also have spring rolls, egg rolls and rangoons but they are extra and don't come with the meal. It's fast and you get a descent amount of food. When I'm feeling the need for Chinese food this is usually my first pick second would be Hy-Vee Chinese express. The place itself is nicely decorated And clean. The staff is friendly and the restrooms clean. They also have outside seating but I've never sat at it since it faces west and in the summer it gets really hot facing west in the evening. Tip: in the winter sit in the corner closest to the restrooms. The drafts from the door make dinning very chilling.
