The food is great so I wish I could come here more. However, it has gone downhill so very badly the past few years. I don't mind that there's hardly any employees. I mind that it is DISGUSTING! The bathrooms are ALWAYS filthy (I'm talking poop on the walls two different visits recently). The soda, ice cream/rice area is never taken care of adequately. Nothing is ever clean. If it's this bad where customers can see, it's chilling to think how nasty it must be in the kitchen area. So every time I want to go eat here, I don't because the restaurant itself is so nauseatingly dirty. *** I've tried reaching out to the "business owner" several times since their response but can never get through. read more

We tried HuHot for the first time hearing about this place from other people we wanted to love it but unfortunately we did not. Our first impression not inviting, place looked old, and dirty. Food on the floor which looked like it was there for quite a while, sauce station was a mess, the rice spot in a strange location with dishes looked to be thrown in the area this place definitely needs attention to detail. Stopped in for dinner and it wasn't busy on a holiday which was nice. Used a 20% Yelp coupon which helped with the $16.99 price. It's an all you can eat buffet but we only managed one plate. They offer whatever frozen protein options you want and then you get to load your bowl with tons of veggies, noodles, sauce and flavored oils. Each meal is served with steamed rice and options of sauces and nuts are provided. Their ice cream machine was down (sad) but overall, it was a good meal. read more

Spills on floors- cups are all chipped- 3 people working 2 of them are actively on a date right now!!! ( the girls were in the bathroom complaining their about their dates who turn out to be the employees) One person at grill. Refused to do the allergy separation because we didn't have a red plate- but no one asked or offered a red plate when we were serving up. One person actually working and he is in a foul mood! Paid nearly $100 to bring family to a nice meal and we can't get an allergy plate!!! Waiting in line for our food to be cooked for over 20 minutes. The kind cook who cooked are food was so much helpful and he had glasses and lightening boot tattoos and a beard and dark hair, he was a tall man and was super cute. My oldest sister about got his number but didn't, if he see's this then have him contact me for my sister. I love Huhot. It's one of my favorite places to go when I want Chinese food. What also makes it so great is that you can design your food the way you like it. You get to choose your noodles you want, type of meats or seafood you want, vegetables and even seasons. Then you take your plate you design to the cook & he will cook it off for you. I became a member because they are the best to me & I totally recommend this place to everyone. My rating to them is a 10 out of 10. read more

It seemed like a Good place to visit for a quick meal, but it was just so dull to mediocre at that. All the employees, with the exception of one Filipina women, were in their own world and so unhappy! The only reason I would come back is to see the older and yet most active, happy, energetic and professional employee in this establishment. I won't go much into this review, because the place wasn't horrible nor was it a stand out. Food was edible, service was sustainable and bearable, but I'll never be back. Walked into Mongolian Grill & found few clean tables. You grab a bowl & start combining chicke, beef, sausage, veggies, noodles, peppers, corn, snap peas,etc. tofu-, etc.-all frozen. Then you go to sauces-Asian- teriyaki, spicey, lots of recipes above the sauces. Go to the grill where the asian foods are cooked & handed to you when finished cooking. There is an area for rice & drinks. You can make as many plates as you can eat. The price is reasonable. It's just hard to clean up as fast as they should. They are as american entrepreneurial as they come...in fact there are 54 HuHot Mongolian Grills in 16 states, the vast majority located in the Midwest and the Mountain West states. So where do you start...grab a bowl, select your meats (chicken, beef, pork), seafoods (crab, shrimp), then your veggies...they have everything from cabbage, carrots, celery, sprouts, onions, mushrooms...and a whole lot more. Remember, this is unlimited so you can come back again and again...there really is no reason to pack your bowl and build a mountain on top...nor is there any reason to take 2 bowls...you can come back for more...!!! Tonight I selected pork, some crab, yakasoba noodles, onions, celery, sprouts, cilantro...on to the sauces... My personal thought is that the sauces you add will determine good from great to mediocre...but experiment...Tonight I followed one of their printed menu cards..."A Hot Lunch"...and added 2 ladels Khans Favorite, 2 ladels Five Village Fire Szechuan, and 1/2 ladel of hot chili oil..." Hand your bowl to the cooks...enjoy watching them cook your masterpiece...when done, there are addition toppings you can add...I added the chopped nuts. What a delight. Now if you listened to my advice and went easy on your bowl, you can go back and try something else...remember there really isn't any limits except perhaps your tummy. So while HuHot is a chain...they've got something good going on here, worthy of trying...plus look around...these are your friends and neighbors, go enjoy their company...and a remarkable meal. The concept of making your own fresh meal with whatever you want is great! You can choose different meats, noodles, veggies, and sauces. All if the meats and veggies are frozen. You can do all meat or veggies, a combination of them, as much or as little as you want. They do a great job at keeping everything frozen at the buffet line. It's great if you're not wanting fried food; you get to watch your food grilled right in front of you. ***Tip: When making your food here, make sure you add 5-10 ladles of sauces or else your food is dry after the cooking process. read more

Hu hot is a fun place to visit. They grill your food in front of you and if they're awesome, they throw in some spatula skills. There are some ups and downs. The positives - you get to choose what goes in your meal. As much or as little of different meats and seafood, different noodles, and a variety of veggies. Another pro - I think most people with food allergies or dietary needs would be able to eat here. Maybe not all, but any that I can think of at the moment. The con - you create your own sauce mixture, which can be fun but it's so hard to know if you're going to make or break your dish by making the wrong mixture. They have a few suggestions of some mixes, but a few other suggestions would be nice, particularly if you have someone who can't eat soy. There are sauces/broths that can be eaten but no suggestions of great combinations. Overall, it's a fun place and we've been a few times and will likely return. read more

When it comes to Mongolian BBQ this really is just sub par. One cool thing they do is all you can eat so they definitely have an edge in that when you compare it to it's competitors. But the establishment in general is ran like a buffet, they are always low on food and we did feel forgotten. The staff are sweet and the food is fresh. You can put together your own concoction of ingredients and sauces and it is cooked to perfection right in front of you. This is all you can eat, so you can make several different dishes for your dinner, one after the other. The coconut shrimp appetizer is recommended. This has become one of my regular spots. Yuck, appetite lost. The terrible looking chalk marker writing on the window set our expectations that of the inattention to detail. To start we went through several dirty bowls with crusted food on them before we found a clean one. The food bar was a total mess and the pineapple was rotten. We told one of the waitresses about it and she didn't seem the least bit shocked - like it was an every day occurrence. They never changed the pineapple while we were there. We watched a woman come out and restock the meat; but rather than rotate old meat on the bottom to the top to keep everything first-in-first-out, she just dumped it right on top. This explains the rotten pineapple. On the 'grill' where the food is cooked there's a rim where the cooks wipe off their spatulas and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned all day. Yum! This place was good! I love the idea of picking your own meat, noodles, vegetables, and sauces, and having it cooked right before my eyes. I found just the right combination of sauces, with soy sauce, garlic sauce/oil, and sesame oil. The trick was also to go easy on the noodles, because it's easy to get full on the carbs. We went here twice. The first time, we had a server named Olivia, and she was so friendly and professional. The second time we had a male server who was perfunctory and perhaps not thrilled with his job. Both times the men cooking the food were friendly and efficient. Buffet style mongolian food. They have 3 types of noodles-rice, egg, and chow mien type of noods. They have 5 meat meat options ans 2 seafood options. And many assorted veggies and Asian American veggies like baby corn, bamboo, and tofu. Not authenticly asian but very American asian. They also have a ton of sauces. You can either make your own concoction or they have suggestions and highlighted cultural flavor or the month. I tried the pad thai. It was mediocre for thai food. This was our first time here, but we've had a similar restaurant experience at a place in Lake Tahoe so we knew what to expect. We were greeted right away by our server who took our drink orders. Love all the drink combinations with their freestyle machine. Then we loaded up our bowls with fresh goodness. First bowl I got was beef with noodles, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, asparagus, and for sauces I did 2 Samurai Teriyaki + 1 Khan's Favorite + 2 Mongol Mustard + 1 Garlic Chili Sauce. I took the bowl to the cooking area and the chefs took it for me and cooked it to perfection. I went back to my table and made short work of chowing down. I was very happy with this combination of meat, veggies, and sauces. I went up another two times once for a chicken bowl and the last time for pork. I liked the pork the least because I feel like they overcooked it just a tad. The service was great, we had our drinks refilled without being asked, plates taken away in a timely manner. All in all we had a wonderful dining experience and we will be back again next time we're in the Logan area. read more

I love mongolian bbq because you can add what you want and spice it up to your liking. It does take time to learn what tastes best, which varies from person to person. I have been to several Mongolian places in the ogden area and HuHot is just as good, if not better, than many of them. I liked how HuHot has a larger selection of vegetables compared to the competition. They have enough variety of meats as well and all the sauces you need and want. The people running the grill were young and a bit slow but it was good enough for us. I'm excited because there is a new one opening up in Layton that will be close to my work. Give this place a try. The staff, food and facility were all amazing! However, the manager (Adam) on duty made it absolutely uncomfortable to be there. I have never in my life witnessed a manager treat staff members the way that he did and in front of customers! We truly felt bad for the employees. One of our kids even said.. "mom how come that guy is being so mean?"Our waitress Chayne was incredible and always on top of things. The manager needs to control his temper and learn to manage not be a jerk. Manager decided to respond. I attached his comment. We will no longer be returning to hu hot due to this manager. Not once did our server complain and she actually stood up for him when we asked about it. Also, he did not keep the yelling behind closed doors in the kitchen nor did he only yell at the two people that wanted cut. He also yelled at the cooks and multiple others. Hu Hot is a fun little Mongolian BBQ where you can choose whatever you want for your particular dish. Highly customizable with lots of choices. It's also all-you-can-eat. This is the second HuHot that I've been to. The first one was in Montana and is my favorite so far. This one is a nice little restaurant. They have all the standard choices for meat and enough vegetable choices to satisfy. This one has lots and lots of sauces which is nice too. The price is ok, we went for lunch and it came to about 25 bucks for two entrees and a drink. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the ambience is warm and welcoming. The service is okay, not quite what I would hope for but not bad really either. Everyone was very friendly and smiling. The location is excellent, right smack-dab in the middle of town and well marked with good sinage so you can find it easily. read more

By far the cleanest and the best variety of choices for sauces at a Mongolian grill restaurant. The atmosphere was cool because they had art on the walls and everything seemed organized, our waiter was quick on the draw and always had our drinks topped off. The real reason I would come to this place is because they have about 20 sauces to choose from, going from mild to spicy.
