I was impressed!! I LOVE "Mongolian grill" places and this one had, by far, the largest selection of possible ingredients. It was really impressive. The sauce itself is worth going back over and over because there are so many options and it will literally transform the meal. Not impressed. Arrived at 8:30pm and the restaurant closes at 10pm. Our server was short with us. Avoided eye contact. When I did get her attention to ask for a refill it sounded as if I was wasting her time. She brought my drink back. Completely ignores my husband's empty glass for another 10 minutes and multiple attempts to get her attention. So when she finally acknowledged us she walked over and interrupted me to ask if we wanted our check. Sure. She refills our drinks and plopped the bill on the table and quickly said "thanks for coming." My husband had just put the card with the bill and set it down. No more than 30 seconds go by and she swoops in to pick it up without saying a word. NOT IMPRESSED Counters where you fill your bowls were fairly clean except for the sauce counter which was a wet and sticky mess. Women's restroom was subpar. The most disturbing part was the floor drain which was plugged and coated with junk. Looks like someone pulled out a couple strands of nasty stuff out of the drain that you can see in the picture. Our number one go place! We prefer to go at before 4 pm Mon. through Thursday as I don't like paying $4 more for the dinner menu. (Hey, I eat the same amount of food each time!). Also prefer the east side Sioux Falls location as it is more spacious. They have hand sanitizer and gloves at the buffet (Which I think should of always been required at all buffets). Food is always fresh and delicious! One time the container with the spiraled zucchini "noodles" was empty (it was quite busy) and I asked the gal refilling them about it. While I was coming up to the grill she brought me a whole plate of freshly cut zucchini! (I love that they have added the zucchini option). I think they have shrimp a few night a week. I would definitely pay dinner price for that. Service has always been attentive. Bathrooms always clean, but a little cold. Use the to go option, they give you a larger bowl and you bring it back to the bar area for your rice and bag. (Or they can make it up for you ahead of time for pickup). Definitely get the HuHot app! I've been a HuHot fan for years and we live close to the east side location. The last few times we've eaten here, it's been very dirty (more than usual). Our shoes stuck to the floor and the walls/windows/blinds look like they haven't been cleaned in years. I'm somewhat of a clean freak but this is over the top dirty. This is one of my favorite HuHots. The service is usually quick, the lines moves quick, plenty of places to sit and park. The restaurant was opened fairly recently so the look and feel of the place still has that new feel about it. Despite one issue I have kept coming back time and time again. The only issue I ever had was someone left the line or something and messed up everyone food order. Somehow when they got to mine they had given it to someone else. ( I think several people got the wrong one and I was the only one who figured it out). They continued and just kept handing plates of food to the people lines behind me and didn't say a think. I got a little upset as I wasn't even acknowledged and I was just standing there. Finally one of the cooks pointed to the end of the line and said you will have to go and get another plate and line up. In disgusted I went and got another plate and went to hand it over directly to the cooks and they asked why I skipped the line and got in a heated discussion. Finally the manager came over and sorted it out and comped my entire meal. I give the manager a gold star for doing what was right. If not for that incident I would have given them a 5 star. read more

I love Hu Hot. When I go to Sioux Falls for some shopping and a movie I always go to Hu Hot for lunch. Of course the trick is to get there a little early so you beat the mad rush. The popularity of this place alone seems to warrant a 5 star rating, but the quality of the food and service do as well. There is a little learning curve to Hu Hot as you figure out which fresh ingredients tastes the best in which combinations and which sauces, but figuring that all out is part of what makes this place great. Great service. The variety of foods and sauces were large. The only down side is how popular this place is on weekends. Despite having a bit of a wait for seating, we sat at the bar and ate. HuHot is the place to go if you're absolutely starving. You can go up as many times as you'd like, create whatever you want, and if you hate what you made, you can just go and try again. I love the east side location (just a little more than the original location). It's bigger, set up a little nicer, and there usually isn't as big as a wait. One thing I would change if I could: making a larger space between the grill line and the sauces. Honestly, there's nothing Mongolian in this place. You're paying too much for a mushy chopped noodles. If you'd like to taste good Chinese or asian fusion, go somewhere else. If you like American/Chinese make-your-own noodles, then you're in the right place. If you want great value for your money, come at lunch time. My Favorite HuHot. I live on the far side of town from this one. Excellent Service, drink always refilled efficiently. You can choose what you like to mix and match. I usually do two bowls at a time, one for meats and the other for noodles and veggies. I mix the Hot Hot Hot sauce on the veggies and mix the Sweet and Sour on the meat. When you get to the grill they will ask if the two are together, say yes. Depending on the time of day and whomever is grilling, they might put on a performance for the line. It's all you can eat so if you don't like what you got the first time you can go up and try something different. They have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine so you can pick your favorite drink with your favorite flavor. For me it is Mellow Yellow Zero Peach. But the sodas are unlimited as well so if you are unsure about what you like to drink, tell your waiter and they will switch it up for you. I visit this place about once or twice a month. Don't forget to take advantage of their rewards program. Yum! read more

It reminds me of a little independent Mongolian stir-fry place I used to frequently visit in the San Francisco Bay Area, when I lived out there, which if you knew the place ("The President's," on Hillsdale Avenue in San Jose), is high praise indeed. My only criticism of this place is that it doesn't offer lamb. I ALWAYS got my stir fry with lamb, and would continue to do so, if they had that option. But the fact they have three kinds of seafood (crab, tilapia, and pollock) prevents me from deducting a star for that minor (albeit unfortunate) oversight. read more

I did have a question about one of the sauces on one visit and was helped by one of the Managers, I believe, named Heather, she was very helpful and was able to answer my question quickly. Myself and several friends (about 15) went to have a surprise 30th birthday dinner for one of our friends. From the minute we walked in the door, the manager treated us very rudely. She rolled her eyes when we told her we had a party of 15. We even told her were were fine waiting for one of the back rooms to open, but according to her "we don't reserve tables". Finally they pulled some tables together as 2 other servers rolled their eyes and were making snide comments about our large group coming in. LIke it is so hard to serve a large group at Hu Hot. All they have to do is take a drink order and bring out some rice. You get up and serve yourself. I am appaled at the level of disrespect shown our group by this establishment. Next time we will take out party of 15, and the tips that go with it, someplace else. read more

No matter how many times I eat here, this restaurant ceases to fail me. The decor of the building is pleasant to look at and quite colorful and decorative, too. It takes little time for waiters and waitresses to take your order, with choices of egg rolls, rice, crab, drink, and other sides, before you enter their buffet. There is a wide selection of meats, vegetables, noodles and sauces that make multiple trips around the buffet a better experience. It takes time for the chefs to cook the food, but it is well worth it when the food is ready. The restaurant does offer customers chopsticks, and they are easier to use to grab noodles and small bits of food. For anyone that has not eaten here yet, I strongly recommend going for anyone that is enjoys Asian buffet and grill. read more
