Mango Dessert and Mango & Coconut with Sago Drink

Mango, mango and more mango anyone? YES, this is THE legendary, mythical Hong Kong dessert spot that basically feels like it exist everywhere else in the world BUT the U.S. The storefront here at American Dream is small, but there are a few tables for customers as well as bench seating. The menu can be quite overwhelming with the different permutations of mango desserts and drinks combined with mango jelly, coconut or sago. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of it because it's all sooooo refreshing and delicious. I love desserts, where I can just sit and eat them, but since we were in the mall, I wanted something that I could enjoy, but still be mobile, so I chose the Mango & Coconut with Sago drink. My wife, on the other hand, decided to get one of the handmade mango desserts - so, in essence, we had to sit anyway to eat our desserts. Womp womp. Anyhow, like I said, you can't go wrong with ANYTHING, and we loveedddd our desserts. The mango was so fresh and, with regards to my drink, with the coconut and sago mixed in - mmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmmmm. It was BLISS. Definitely a must if you're looking for dessert in the mall. Forget about your plain ol' ice creams or pastries, save your money for Hui Lau Shan. The desserts and drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but you'll know where every cent went when you're enjoying your heavenly mango dessert.

Went back after a while. The store is pretty much the same with same menu. We put in an order via kiosk, it was served within few minutes. Incredible mango sago, just enjoyed it thoroughly. Mango was good, the juice was not too sweet. Love having the dish and drinks from here.

I'm a big fan of bubble tea but I could not finish the bubble tea from this place. My friend ordered the honeycomb milk tea, and I ordered the fruit tea and both look nothing like the pictures on their menu. The picture had cubes of honeycomb. And the fruit tea picture had a ton of fruits. We got neither. They also barely add any ice to the drink (maybe a few cubes). I asked for more ice and got this small bowl of ice on the side. I should have read the reviews before coming because this is a big disappointment. As for the service, they don't announce when your drink is ready so you just sit there waiting if you don't go check. We were the only group in the store so you'd think they'd say something. I don't recommend this place, even if it's conveniently located in the American dream mall.

The fruit here is fresh and ripe. That alone is enough to make me want to come back but service is quick and there are several delicious options on the menu. A quick and refreshing dessert option that isn't too sweet.

Hui Lau Shan is a small dessert place in American Dream mall. The dessert was delicious with Mango, Tapioca, Papaya and coconut. The taste was flavorful, refreshing, and a good way to end the night after eating some salty foods. The menu has various desserts in a few different sizes. The prices were expensive. I wouldn't go here often knowing how expensive a majority of the desserts selection are shown. Service was okay, seating is small, all payments are accepted.

I tried their honeycomb coffee and it was delicious. The honeycomb in the end was perfect to end the coffee. Their presentation and branding are super cool. I am looking forward to trying more desserts from this place. Everything looked very appetizing.

I think this place is just okay, for the price the size is pretty small. It does taste good but they could've added more mango. I think I would pass next time at least at this location. This is in the American dream mall, so it is convenient but that might account for the high prices and small portion size. I would opt for Mango Mango if I'm craving a similar desert.

I came across Hui Lau Shan while walking around in American dream mall. The menu had a lot of choices for mango drinks and desserts. Since I love mango, I had to give it a try. I ordered the Mango and Coconut juice with mango jelly from the kiosk. The mango tasted fresh and it was a really yummy drink. Within minutes, my drink was ready. There was some seating inside, but I took my drink and continued walking. Looking forward to trying the other drinks and desserts next time.

I came here for dessert after lunch with my family. It's a dessert shop chain from HK. I'm not surprised by the low reviews since it's in American Dream mall (which should really be called Chinese Dream since there's so many Chinese places here now haha). I ordered the mango chewy ball dessert. I ordered from the kiosk so I didn't have to wait on the line. Most of the items were sold out even though I went there at 1pm in the afternoon. The mango was ripe and fresh. The mango puree wasn't too sweet. The rice balls were soft but still chewy. The ice cream was a bit icy though. Service was fast and everyone speaks Mandarin (yeah definitely calling this mall Chinese Dream haha). I felt like it was not bad for a mall especially in NJ. I know some reviewers mentioned Mango Mango was better but you're not in NYC!

Mango & Passion Fruit w. Mango Jelly ($9)

I came here after a co-worker mentioned how great their desserts were. I've been to the one that was once in Queens, so it was due time I'd check it out again. We opted for a drink for easy takeout. I would say these drinks are more of a dessert smoothie. We got the Mango & Passion Fruit w. Mango Jelly ($9). I was expecting more liquid, but I felt the thick sweet creamy consistency come up as soon as I took a sip. That's mango alright! I love the real mango fruit chunks placed inside for toppings. I don't remember tasting any passion fruit, as I definitely would have noticed the seeds or tangy taste. This was a straight mango drink. Solid smoothie overall, especially as a refreshing pick-me-up on a hot day. Just super pricey!

Mango honey with herbal jelly Durian pancake
    Uyen N.

The mango dessert is kinda lame -- the mango is not good, the herbal jelly and rice balls are okay but would have been a lot better if there is more liquid in there like heavy cream or sugar syrup. The durian pancake is pretty good; the filling is durian mixed with some cream so very strong durian taste.

I was so excited to know Hui Lau Shan, which serves one of my favorite desserts double boiled milk, opened up their location in American Dream Mall. The menu was decent and we had their A2 Mango & Pomelo Jelly in Mango Juice, A7 Crystal Jelly in Watermelon Juice, D7 Honey with Herbal Jelly and F1 Red Bean Double Boiled Milk Pudding to share with a group of 4 people. Their drinks (A2 & A7) were okay and it would be the only things we had positive comment. However, we were so disappointed with its portion, especially for D7, we finished it in 3-4 bites for the price of $8.5. The taste of double boiled milk pudding was terrible and the texture was cheap & not soft at all. Overall, we definitely won't waste our money here again and strongly recommend people not to give it a try.

Since i saw that there is one here i figured i would give it a try. It's a counter where you order your drinks but no seats or table. They have a system where when you place an order you get a receipt with number and board up above will let you know when its being prepared and when its ready. My partner and i ordered triple matcha and brown sugar bubble tea. Brown sugar bubble tea was ok. Boba was good but it was too creamy. I think there is too much milk/cream in proportion to the tea. Triple green tea was pretty good. Nice green tea flavor that is not too sweet and not too bitter. It also has some chunk of little jelly as well. Service was good and fast. Our order only took about 5 minutes even thought the place was somewhat busy. Overall i think it's a solid tea place. I would come back to try different tea next time.

It's a VERY popular brand known for high quality drinks made with premium teas and fresh fruit--and they're aesthetically pleasing too. My first time was at the Edison location, and that was a dub. I decided to give it a second shot at the East Rutherford one... also a dub. LOL. This location is a small kiosk inside the American Dream Mall, near the H Mart in Court A on level 1. I went on a Saturday and it was chaos. You couldn't even tell where the line started or ended. You just gotta squeeze through the crowd and figure it out. There's basically no seating except for a small bench off to the side. Very limited space. And to make the lines even longer, there's no menu displayed for everyone to see--so you have to wait until you reach the counter and then decide on the spot. The most popular drinks are the fruit/superfood teas, but they also offer brewed tea, milk teas, and matcha. Personally, I'm more of a classic tea person. I'm not crazy about the fancy shmancy trendy drinks with a ton of add-ins and artisanal toppings. Sure, they're pretty to look at--but I prefer to keep it simple. I ordered two black milk teas with tapioca pearls. I requested less ice and the lowest sugar level. Both drinks with tax + tip came out to almost $20. At that price, I was really hoping and praying that the drinks would be dang good. After ordering, your order # shows up on a screen so you can track the status. Mine took almost 30 minutes. Expect long wait times during weekends/peak hours because there's a TON of foot traffic. They also get slammed with mobile orders. There wasn't any space for people to wait for their orders. It got so packed and disorganized that the crowd was spilling into the mall's walkway. First sip? Immediate no. GIRL. It tasted like straight milk with the faintest hint of black tea. They got a basic milk tea wrong... really disappointing. The tapioca had a strange taste. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it did not taste like any boba I've had before. It almost tasted TOO starchy. The barista also put foam on top, which I didn't ask for. It was more like watered down whipped cream, not like the salty cheese foam I've had at other places. I was not a fan. Major L. Sometimes ya just have to take one. These drinks were not worth $20 and a 30 minute wait. I would not come back to this location. Maybe I would've had a better experience if I came on a slower weekday or if a different barista made my drink, but I'm not interested in finding out. I'll give HeyTea ONEEEEE more chance. They just opened a new one near me at the Garden State Plaza. I will most definitely be going during off hours. Fingers crossed. But three strikes... and yerrrrrrrrr out.

It used to be easy to find a Kung Fu Tea, but over time many have closed and at the moment I can maybe think of four locations scattered around NYC (I'm sure there are more). That said, whenever I come across a new location I check it out to see if they measure up to other locations. Located on the third floor food court of the American Dream Mall, this stand is tucked away off to the side. There is no seating, it is purely a take away stand. You go up to the cashier or use a kiosk to order and your drink is picked up to the left. I ordered my usual: a Red Bean Slush with Bubbles and no Sweet (the red bean mixture plus the bubbles has plenty of sweetness by itself for my taste). You'd be surprised but such a simple drink can be made badly. Sometimes there is too much ice so you lose all flavor. Other times there isn't a good amount of bubbles. And this will vary from visit to visit depending on the location. I am happy to report this time out this location nailed it. The drink was made perfectly and the flavor had an excellent balance between the red bean and sweet flavors. The slush texture was perfect as well. Well done! For this visit at least, this location made my drink right and very quickly to boot. I would happily go back again.

While it's great for them to get so many customers, the quality of the drinks is not there. They are just pumping out drinks due to long lines. I recognized the franchise from my visits to Chinatown, the mecca of dumplings and foolishly assumed that meant good eats were to be had here. But this was such a disappointment. Call me a grump, but I believe the namesake food at an establishment should be the best thing on the menu. We ordered two kinds - a fried pork chive dumpling and a boiled chicken and basil. But if I were blindfolded, I don't think I could've told them apart because both wrappers were not only thick but had similarly gummy textures. The chicken and basil dumplings also had a pinkish purple hue that gave it the off-putting look of raw chicken. After a few ho-hum attempts to eat them, my husband and I ended up forgoing the wrappers entirely and simply rescued the innards with our chopsticks. On the slight plus side, these tasted great - well seasoned and meaty. The spicy beef dan dan noodles were okay. For all the sauciness and toppings on it, I was surprised that the word that came to mind was 'boring'. As far as flavor went, there was a slightly fermented funk that made it just a little interesting, but I ended up dousing my bites with Sriracha to add the fun I felt was needed. A bright spot of our order was the side of sweet and spicy cucumbers we randomly ordered. Doused in a vinegary chili oil, this provided just the fresh texture and acid that brightened up our otherwise dispirited meal.
