Lovely tea store by Mitsuwa market. It's quite small. Only a few tables and seats available. Must people do take out. Lots options for regular tea, milk tea, fruit tea etc. I got Ceylon black tea. Rich tea flavor. But it's more on the bitter taste side. I probably will try something else next time. The staff are friendly. Lots of customers in the afternoon. It took some time for the drinks to come out. Overall a good tea spot.

It seems like they have some collaboration with a local seller because some cactus that were displayed had price tags on them. For sale I bet! I love that! Service: 5 The drink was prepared pretty quick and the person at the cashier was patient when I couldn't decide what to get. I even got a stamp card to come back! Flavors: 5 I'm glad I was able to order my strawberry matcha without sugar because it was just sweet enough with the strawberry in it. I was able to taste the matcha. The balance of the slightly bitter and the sweet is just right! Overall would go there again. Tasty drinks and nice vibe!
I decided to give UMACHA another try. This is a cute bubble tea shop in a great location - right near Mitsuwa and the Hudson River waterfront. It's small and gets busy quickly, so there's not too much seating available during peak times. The natural lighting and greenery are lovely touches to the ambiance. Their menu has plenty of Japanese specialty drinks to choose from - milk teas, fruit teas, coffee, and matcha. I wasn't impressed with the two drinks I ordered last time, so I went with something different. I ordered the Ceylon Black Milk Tea with boba (~$7) and I LOVED it! The tea to milk ratio was on point. The tea was strong and bold with just the right amount of bitter notes. The brown sugar syrup and milk complemented the bitterness. I requested the lowest sugar level and the barista nailed it! My only complaint is that the tapioca pearls could've been more chewy. I'm glad I gave them another shot! The employees were very friendly. Even though the line was growing every minute, they still managed to keep up with the drink orders in a reasonable amount of time. I will be trying more drinks in the future and I hope they'll be just as good as this one.
The bubble tea here is DELICIOUS! Great soft and chewy boba, lots of fun choices on the menu, and both hot and cold teas are good! I ordered the hot jasmine milk tea (large) and an iced cheese foam hojicha tea (also large), to which i added bubbles. The total bill came out to just under $15, so a pretty typical bbt price on 2025. ofc i think a consideration always needs to be bang for buck-- i think the size of the large (16oz) is a bit small for $6 before tax & tip but BOY is the jasmine delicious. The iced hojicha is also very good and I like the cheese foam a lot - flavorful but light (and a good size for a large). I would definitely go here over a gong cha or Kung fu tea since i personally enjoy the types of flavors offered here. The ambiance of the café is classy and casual at once (very hip korean style) and the service was great! The cashier asked if I'd like sugar or ice adjusted and the drinks were prepared in under 5 min!
Umacha has severely updated their menu, service, and has changed locations. Their previous location was not serving them at all, and was just a few steps away from where they're currently located. Parking can be difficult depending on the day. Weekends and holidays are much busier than weekdays. But the service is always outstanding and the same. The girls here are so enjoyable to talk to! Even when I'm taking a photo or video in this aesthetic environment they're so nice about it!! This place is almost always busy now, and good they deserve it! It's super pretty inside. The seating is much better compared to the old place. I'm very happy Umacha had a full on glow up! These workers know how to handle the flow of traffic with efficiency, cleanliness, and timeliness. They should all be commended! My boyfriend and I always get their strawberry matcha latte and it's delicious! With real strawberries at the bottom! I want to try some of their other menu items too. The waffles look delicious. I'm glad I came back because at their old location I had a horrible experience.
What a fantastic boba tea store!!! One of the best I have been to. They so justify their name of Umai meaning tasty cha (tea). As we walked into the store, the line was out the door. But it moves swiftly, had to only wait about 10 minutes to order. The store has few tables to dine-in. It has a minimalist Japanese vibe. The sells its own merchandise as well. The menu has some amazing options. We picked the strawberry tea and mango (merry me) lemonade. We got the boba and mango jelly as toppings. Other than drinks that also have small bakery items. Our order came out with 5-10 minutes. Both drinks had such delightful refreshing taste. The toppings were equally great quality. I am so bumped they only have one store in Bergen county. If I ever driving by River Road, I'll be surely stopping by them to get some tea from here.
Came here on Mother's Day and, as you'd expect, it was pretty crowded - especially with the Mitsuwa crowd coming over. We ordered a Love Me (Milk + Strawberry + Cheese Cream) and a Mango Slush + Cheese Cream. Verdict? Solid drinks. The Love Me was a bit on the underwhelming side though and I didn't feel like it had much flavor to it. If anything, it felt like I was drinking plain milk. The Mango Slush + Cheese Cream was FANTASTIC though. It was very refreshing and it was very easy to spot/taste the cheese cream in each sip. The menu was actually quite large and there were a whole plethora of other drinks I wanted to try, so we'll DEFINITELY be back one day when we're in the area.
This cute little spot located right across the street from Mitsuwa. They used to be right off the water, but it was for too big of space. They have an array of different coffees and bubble teas to choose from prices are fairly reasonable. Staff was friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. We got the mango Matcha, which was delicious and I got a brown sugar milk tea. Definitely a great spot to grab some drinks and have a chat with friends.
I came here on a Friday evening w/ a friend, and we were both first immediately impressed by the interior. The cafe was enhanced w/ bright lighting, greenery, and cute plant-themed wall decor. My friend got the strawberry matcha latte, and I got the kiss me lemonade. Both were delicious. The matcha tasted strong and authentic, and I liked that there was a generous amount of strawberry puree at the bottom. The lemonade wasn't too sweet (shoutout to the cashier who suggested that I ask for no added sugar), and it was the right amount of tanginess. I also loved the mangoes at the bottom! 100% would come here again.
Got an iced jasmine milk tea with boba. It was tasty. The "medium" will cost you almost $7. The boba was good, chewy and not mushy. The jasmine tea was just ok, not strong enough to stand against the milk. I do wish there was more of a jasmine tea flavor but there was a hint of floral. I enjoyed it. My partner got a hot americano, not that great. Coffee gave paper bag, iykyk. I'm unsure of what coffee they use but there was marketing material displayed advertising coffee drinks. Staff was friendly, window seating was perfect. read more
Yummy bubble tea shop right across from Mitsuwa. The bubble tea we got was slightly too sweet, but I don't remember if they had any customizing options. The boba was especially nice in texture and flavor. I would probably try a regular tea next time. read more
Very good flavorful bubble tea well priced. Much better than the fake sugary bubble tea in mitsuwa. I got the mango lemonade with no sugar and it was sweet and sour and had a bright refreshing taste. I loved the star jelly, it was firm and chewy and fruity. The ambiance is cute, small store with some tables. The drink came out quickly, service was nice but I think they were a little bored. read more

Ideal spot to pick up a boba and walk the Hudson River waterfront. I'm a fan of the Hug Me Lemonade. My husband likes their hot matcha latte. Drinks are made well. Staff is always friendly and kind. Always nice to stop in! read more

There was a long line but worth the wait. Good service. Can sit inside if there is room. Some benches outside as well. Ordered the brown sugar milk tea with less ice and it was delicious. So much tapioca too! Would like to return and try other flavors! read more
I got the "Kiss Me" drink which has peach and jasmine tea. The flavors paired really well and it was refreshing on a hot day. The only thing is that it was kind of hard to drink all the blended peach slices at the bottom so eventually I just tore the lid to drink the rest of the peach pieces. The drink came with a seal which is nice and you can also customize your ice level. The shop's decor is modestly decorated and that gives it a cafe vibe. Not to mention you get to enjoy a nice view of the city and river through the floor to ceiling glass windows. read more
It's a cozy, relaxed spot with okay food. I like the tea. Everything about this place is just comforting. The people here are very friendly and diverse. I had the pumpkin milk tea with boba, which tasted alright. My only issue is that the ice melted into the boba, making it a little soggy. I was expecting a smoother finish. The cruffin with whipped cream I've had before at other places, but I'm not a big fan. If you enjoy it, this one's alright. I just think it's a little too expensive. I'd rather have a regular Belgian waffle in that case. read more

Very cute interior and refreshing drinks! The boba in the drink is freshly made, you can tell cause it's still warm and the texture is just perfect! The lychee jelly was also just as good in the Hug me lemonade! Delicious and refreshing! read more
Great bubble tea shop, good tea and not too sweet - get no sugar and the bubbles sweeten it up plenty. The only challenge is their speed makes lines form particularly this close to the Mitsuwa. Solid choice for bubble tea even though they don't have all the topping styles I like (pudding or Q bubbles). read more
Great way to get Matcha at Edgewater New Jersey. They have a couple different options. A little bit on the watery/milky sidr so it was a good thing that the fruits balanced it a little bit more. I'll come back again. read more

Strolled to this spot after going to Mitsuwa, and everything was great! I tried their famous matcha blend as well as their cream jasmine tea and it was just perfect. Not too sweet and not too bitter at regular levels of sugar. The inside was aesthetic and there was long lines of people waiting to order their drinks in the center of the store. Would definitely come back to this spot when I visit the area again! read more

I had been wanting to try the boba here for a while! I ordered their Hojicha Milk Tea, which I'm still thinking about because the tea was so fragrant. The tapioca was pretty sweet too, which balanced out the tea nicely. read more

Extremely friendly service. Sweet workers. Have been coming here often, but I live far so. I loved their old location, the architecture was beautiful but this one is cute too. Interior accents + decor are incredible & cozyyy. (lots of picture worthy backgrounds) Decent seating options but it can get crowded. Menu is pretty diverse & they let you customize. They should add 1 self checkout screen thingie cause why not. Will be back! read more

THEY MOVED!!! They are now located next to the Japanese bookstore and not in their original location!! And this location is nice.. you can relax by the table and look at the outside view, you can still see a little bit of NY.. or bring couple friend and enjoy a nice cup of coffee/tea/bubble tea and chat away... I do have to say.. I love their bubble tea.. I had the brown sugar milk before, and it was good, but I want to try the tea, so I ordered hojicha milk tea this time around.. and it didn't disappoint!!! You can taste the tea!! I am excited to try other tea flavor next time I go... service is ok.. she was explaining the menu into other customer they were there, and I have to say.. they have a pretty impressive dessert case!! This was my first time visiting the new location. I liked the clean and bright aesthetic and the person taking my order was very nice. I ordered the Don Chan which is brown sugar bubble with milk and cream cheese. I think the cream cheese compliments the brown sugar bubble milk really well because it gives it the sweet and savory profile that balances the drink as well as adds extra creaminess to it. read more
Loved this place! Beautiful, spacious, bright and airy and nice plants in the store with plenty of seating. Service was quick and line not too long on a weekend afternoon after lunch. I got a soft serve that was MASSIVE, really 2-3x the volume I was expecting. Delicious, and can't wait to be back to try more of the menu! read more
The best boba I've ever had. I came for their cheese cream topping, but I didn't realize how amazing the boba would be. I saw a "mango slush" with cheese cream topping and I couldn't resist adding some boba. Incredible. The boba was warm, soft, the perfect chewy texture - usually the boba is firm and cold. I love love loved it. We also ordered a regular milk tea with boba. Also very tasty. This is my new go to treat stop whenever I'm going to Mitsuwa! read more

It's possible I've been spoiled by having lived in Manhattan for the last 14 years with a plethora of good matcha, but this was one of the worst matcha Ive had in years. We ordered the strawberry matcha with cheese foam and the dirty matcha. Both were extremely diluted and had very little matcha flavor. Based on the darker color, it doesn't seem like they use ceremonial grade matcha (probably culinary) and they cheap out on the amount they use as well. The workers also forgot the cheese foam on the strawberry matcha drink - when we asked them about it they had to double check that this ingredient was indeed included in one of their signature drinks. read more

Really enjoy my milk tea from this spot! Although this place does not have as many flavors as other milk tea spots, what I appreciate about Umacha is the quality of their product. I don't think a lot of other places come close. I do wish they had more flavors.. I get the brown sugar, milk, Boba tea. Love it Service is quick as well. A big plus is that you can find parking in their parking lot. Also, there's tons of room for you to sit inside or outside. Vibe is super chill. read more

Parking was very difficult as this parking lot is always busy due to the various stores. However the views and ambiance is very nice and bright inside and out. It's right by the water so a nice stroll or when the weather permits, it provides a great location to sip a drink. Their tapioca balls and mango star jelly are both great quality. We got the mango lemonade (less sugar) with mango star jelly and it was a hit with both kids and adults; the strawberry slushy (can't customize) with cheese cream and mango star jelly was another hit; the coffee cheese cream (regular sugar) was OK; and the Donchan was amazing - you can't customize this one. I have to say though, I recommend you mix the cheese cream well from the start as at the end you only have the cream and it's salty and I don't recommend just drinking that alone. read more
