This is a rustic vibe. Well loved and a bit worn. However the folks are really nice. I feel like a local. The food is spot on. Kaluha Pork and the Ribs were highlights. This is not a vegan or vegetarian friendly spot though It's a little out of tourist sector of town and the prices were great 15-20 pp

As someone who grew up in cali & visited very often home to wailua the loco moco mac salad & musubi beats L&L anyday of the week it very much reminds me of my auntie maes cooking & my uncle joes mac salad. If you are looking for a solid quick bite of island food this is it. Big shout out to auntie there for serving us always love seeing kanaka out on the mainland! Mahalo

My kids have been craving for rice since we haven't eating rice since we leave Los Angeles. This restaurant made them Happy and said Finally... they can eat rice lol. Big portion and affordable. And it's so yummy... I like the Kalua pork. So tender and juicy.. my kids loves the katsu chicken and ribs. They finishes 2 cup bowls of rice. That's must be good right!

Hi, my boyfriend and I got the kalua pig combo plates with Mac salad and spike poke medium size. Very disappointed with the ahi poke. There was no flavor, it tasted watered down, and the texture of the fish was very mushy.... the sad part is that I'm from the islands and this was a serious disappointment. No love or better yet, no flavor at all. It tasted as if it was thawed last minute, not marinated and just prepped in a bunch of sauce with no seasoning. I've had hula hands poke before at a wedding and that was bomb, but this one was 0 out of 10. Service was great as usual but please reach out for reimbursement, mahalo.

Well it has been a very long time since I came yo sit down and eat. Seems a lot cleaner then I remember which is great. Was able to sit down and as soon as I sat down someone came and took my order which was very quick. The service was amazing and quick. The food was good as well, huge portions for sure. Had the mix plate with the chicken katsu and the pork. I am so Glad that the pork was not dry, this had the perfect juicy flavor to it. The chicken katsu was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy but not dry. I wish the Mac salad and the rice were a little bit better. The rice was mushy and the Mac salad could use a bit more seasoning, and the noodle was a bit more al dente than I would like. Overall great service and great food for sure. Will be coming back a little bit more often.

Decided to try something new -- and totally disappointed. The Large Saimin was basically a splash of broth to make a large cup of noodles not stick to themselves. As seen... I had 1 strip of a sweet pork in there. Not like the creations I have seen online. In addition, place didn't open on time due to being short staffed... so I was more than hungry... which tells you if someone who is starving isn't thrilled, it's not worth getting. Still giving 3 stars since the mini punahele plate with kalua pork is delicious! Should have stuck to what I knew Their spicy poki was fresh; however, the sauce is like mayo and sriracha bland meh and would rather go to new sagaya. Overall, worth giving the place a try if you haven't.

This meal was a great experience! The staff are very friendly here and take great care of you. We were seated quickly and had our orders in fast. We both ordered the Iki (mini) combo. Don't be fooled by the name, this was a lot of food. The chicken and the beef were both super yummy. Dipped in the sauce they were devine! The rice was cooked to perfection and the pasta was a tasty treat all by itself. Great meal, great service, great value!

I had to try this place after many good reviews. I was on the go so I ordered for pick up. Placed a order of the 2 entry Combo. I pick Kalua Pig (pulled pork) and BBQ chicken. Comes with 2 scoop if rice and Macroni. $9.50. Bag and waiting for me when I arrived 10 minutes later. Let me tell you, was delicious all across. Even the macaroni salad was delicious. Wasn't dried out of anything. The Kalau pig was so flavorful. The BBQ chicken had the great BBQ taste. So good. Overall 9/10 for food. read more

Great food!!! Authentic Hawaiian food! Great pork!! Not quite the sanitary conditions I prefer in a restaurant though. Thus, I don't like to eat at the restaurant. I get it to go ever since our first dine-in experience there. The restaurant is jam packed with tables and I like to have more space between me and the snot dripping, hacking goober sitting next to me. It was hard to move around in the restaurant because there were so many people, chairs and tables to weave through. It seems like a fire hazard. read more

I wish I ate all my meals here during our trip. It was inexpensive and food was like having mom's home cooked meals. 1 scoop of rice is never enough. How do they get the rice so good? Service is sincere and pleasant, but slow as molasses. I paid cash cuz I didn't feel comfortable using a credit card. Place felt too relaxed. The 3 flies flying around inside didn't sit well with me either. read more

Flavor: better than the local L&L, worse than Kansha. Has a 'homestyle' feel to it with 'local style' portions (big!). Expect to see things like kahlua pork, lau lau, chicken katsu- and that Hawaiian style mac salad and fluffy rice. The ahi poke here is the second best I've had in town, tastes authentic, just not the best authentic I've had. Prices are really fair. Downside: seems like they're always out of what I want to order. Their haupia is a myth (it's on the menu, but I've asked for it all six times I've been there to no avail) and the ahi poke is near mythical as well (2/6 visits they had it). If you're from Hawaii you'll feel nostalgic here. read more

My family and I ate here 2 days ago for a late lunch. We were greated and told to have a seat any where. We got our menus and got our drinks right away. We usual don't need menus but we were informed that the prices changed. The service was great from the beginning to end. Both waitress which seemed like a mother-daughter team were friendly and catered to our needs. We like going in the mornings. We usually go in at nights for dinner but we are always treated rude and the waitress rarely pay any attention. So service in the morning is a lot better than nights. Until we got our food we were so very disappointed. The prices went up but the size sure didn't. The food is tasty but if we going to pay more we should get more. Just saying. I hope everyone got a pay raise because of the price difference. read more

The service sucks! They are all very arrogant and couldn't care less about their customers. They also shorted me on my order and their portions are tiny. Any real islander would have to order 3 plates just to get filled up. I won't be going back. Kansha is the only place to go!! read more

Delicious food if you can get past the pathetic service. Us'to eat there often. But then, the place was empty and still waited 25 minutes for a soft drink {while my waitress talked story in the back} before finally getting frustrated and leaving. Sad...no food! read more

Having been to Hawaii over 16 times (we've lost count, honestly) I'd like to think I know Hawaiian food pretty well. I'd drool in anticipation of my families' yearly trek to the islands and after the insanely fresh ahi that is available, I'd think of the Hawaiian food. Yes, it's horrible for you, and yes there is more mayo in the Mac salad than there ought to be. This is the kind of food that gives you heartburn right before you finish it letting you know that you were right, you probably shouldn't be eating it. That being said, every once in a while who doesn't want to splurge on calories? This is the kind of food that you go to every once in a while to get your fix of that calorie laden food that you dream about. Does Hula Hands deliver? I'd say that it does fairly well. Our server was fantastic. She was horribly rushed and running around like mad, but she still managed to be attentive, extremely pleasant and efficient with our order and our food. She just did a phenomenal job in a high stress setting. They had spam masubi, which in and of itself is important. However, something about it wasn't quite right. Maybe the ratio of spam to rice. I ordered the chicken katsu while my husband had the Korean BBQ ribs. Both were tasty. My dish was very crisp and had a pretty good sauce- perhaps a bit too tart-and I love tart. Husbands ribs has a nice smoke flavor and were also noticeably sweet- like you would expect. Something was also a little different about their Mac salad that I couldn't quite put a finger on. I very much enjoyed myself as did my husband and I thought that it was pretty authentic. Glad to have tried this place. read more

The main downside is that they are expensive, typically in the L48 stores like Uwajimaya and Hmart are cheaper than Safeway/QFC but that is simply not the case here. The store is relatively clean and well lit, there is no funky odor which is greatly appreciated. The cashier is always quick, but that's the extent of the service I have received at the store. I will keep coming back when I need to find a special ingredient to keep exploring the culinary world.

It's never really busy when I stop by so it's usually pretty quiet which makes for great opportunities to talk to staff members. They all are so patient, which is appreciated! Unfortunately, they do not offer beer flights, so Colby created his own half-glass sampler, which did the trick. The brewery itself was pretty neat, with large beer barrels incorporated into the décor, including one that guests can actually sit in. Their beer selection was on the smaller side, but we felt the prices were fair. I ordered the Blind Berry Cider, which had a pleasantly tart flavor, though it leaned toward the extra sour side. We thought this spot was great for Instagram photos and a worthwhile stop if you have some extra time while you're in town. Overall, it was okay. I do wish we had known about the outdoor seating options beforehand, as we found the indoor seating area to be somewhat limited. The glassware was pretty cool as well, with several different sizes available. The bathrooms were clean, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return if we find ourselves back in town again.

Perfect Service, Perfect Food This is my favorite place to go when my family asks where I want to go out to eat. The service staff and crew are incredible. I would never leave a damaging review for my favorite restaurant but I wanna give a shoutout to the 2 young ladies that worked as servers during lunch shift yesterday: There was this white male cook, 30's, brunette, covered in tattoos, being very belligerent and rude to the servers saying all manner of inappropriate shiz, about watching their attitude and what-not, he was definitely very drugged up. I hope they get rid of that guy, cause I never want to hear him talk that way to ladies ever again, especially while I'm eating in a public restaurant! Now that my attention was drawn to the back of the house; The food orders started to get backed up from his bad attitude and slow service and one of the female SERVERS JUMPED IN TO HELP HIM COOK! And she caught him up on all his ticket orders, what a badass! Will always return, but y'all need to "take out the trash" with your back of house employee. read more

We ordered the hamburger loco moco and the kalua cabbage. To be honest, did the food stand out? No. The kalua cabbage was actually pretty decent, being moist and juicy. But being from Hawaii, this place tasted like an average place I would find in Hawaii and was priced reasonably for Anchorage where I expect everything to be more expensive. This is why I am rating this 4 stars, because if you are coming here looking for Hawaiian food, I think they do a job that is on par with an average place in Hawaii. To me personally Hawaiian food is not a high end cuisine that blows your mind away thinking this is the best food I've ever eaten. Hawaiian food is more of an average comfort food and so within that respect, I am rating this a 4 star. We did not try the poke though which even in Hawaii I find very few places that make really good poke. read more

Picked up my order today rushing to work, when I got to my work and I had my plate and ready to grub,. I was very upset because my chicken was burnt and dried, my Terri beef was dried and burnt as well, and my rice was half cooked,. I threw my whole plate in the trash because I was very upset with having them served customers with terrible burnt food and dried!!! I will never order from Hula hands in Mtn view!!! read more

I enjoyed watching TV while I ate my Pulehu chicken, Kalua pig with two rice and that famous mac salad. I also taped into their WiFi and the speed was okay. Then I paid with my apple pay. The servers was a joy be to around, the busy crowed was like a party in Hawaii. A must visit place! I will be back. read more
