    Build your own poke bowl.

I ordered a large bowl because I was pretty hungry and it was only filled halfway. Not joking. The large bowl was literally halfway with all the toppings, rice and protein. As expensive as this was (about $20 a bowl) I won't be back. Rip off. Unfortunately it might be hard to tell from the angle of the photo I'm posting. I do not recommend coming here unless you want a snack.

Looking for something different that was low carb, high protein but also not too heavy, I came across hula poke. The inside is a cafeteria/deli style, create your own bowl down the line ordering with a lot of options to choose from. I can't honestly remember all the options I put in my bowl as there were soo many to choose from but my bowl was delicious. The proteins, veggies and sauces I added were all my favorites so it couldn't disappoint. All my proteins were some sort of seafood which kept the overall meal light yet satisfying. Overall, I really liked Hula Poke and look forward to coming back to try a different combination of ingredients and come up with a new favorite.

Made my husband take me here on a Monday evening when I was craving poke bowls. We each got a bowl and an order of Takoyaki. I must say I was disappointed in the cookie-scooper protein portions. Not exaggerating on the cookie scooper. Rice was also hard from it being so cold. But I did like all the topping and sauce options, which made it pretty good. My husband got shrimp tempura in his bowl and the girl made it when he ordered it so it was fresh. The highlight of the meal was the Takoyaki. I was pretty impressed with the crispyness and flavor. Overall it was just okay and did the trick for my craving. I wish their protein scoops were bigger than a little spoon. Service was friendly as well!

Craving for some Japaneezee poke, this is the joint. A nice service from the front lady (the owners sis), and the place is just nice to dine in with. Calm ambiance to enjoy your meal.

We stopped by here for a quick lunch and were instantly greeted. I was initially hesitant in coming here mainly because I genuinely didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with how fresh everything looked and tasted. They had lots of options including spicy tuna, ahi tuna, salmon and even eel. I liked the choice to have brown rice instead of sushi rice if you so choose. My husband and I really enjoyed our bowls. I didn't however think it was worth the $46 to eat here, I would have rather gone out for sushi or something else instead BUT for poke & the times, I guess it's okay. I would eat here again if I was close by but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

Very poor food quantity! You pay $17 for " 3 scoop protein " but you get 1 and 1/2 scoop in total.

Hula Poke used to be my go-to for poke but had a really negative experience with my last delivery order - got the 2 protein scoop bowl and the amount of fish was laughable -there were literally 3 pieces of fish. Not sure what kind of spoon they use to measure a "scoop"... Maybe a baby spoon? Also there was a piece of hair found on one of the toppings!

Ordering is counter service, but we sat at the sushi bar so we were able to order everything directly and watch our rolls made fresh right in front of us. We were given extra kudos for ordering Japanese drinks to go with our food. All the food was great. The fry dumplings were hot and perfectly crispy and the rolls were chilled and super fresh. My husband loved his voodoo roll (crawfish, jalapeño). My spicy tuna was simple, but just as it was supposed to be. Price wasn't bad either. Two rolls, an appetizer, a bottled tea, and a beer came out to just over $40.

For ramen, I recommend the "red" Aka Fuku. For udon noodles, the tofu was delicious as well if you need a vegetarian option. There is a small kids' menu and other non-noodles traditional Japanese dishes available as well. For drinks, there are the standard soft drink options, hot teas(or cold), beer, and wine. The atmosphere is very casual, but not to the point of feeling like a rushed lunch hour. It was not very crowded on our visit, but I noticed they probably get more to-go orders than seated service. Hoka Hoka Fuku is an excellent choice in the area if you're looking to have Japanese food. I can't wait to go back and try this place for dinner.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

Could be a nice, intimate place for dinner though we were seated next to a pretty loud group. Service was fast and friendly, which was appreciated. The meal itself was decent, not great. Tried the masago and snow crab off the sushi menu; the former was good, but the latter strangely dry, as if it had sat out a little too long. An appetizer portion of the shrimp and vegetable tempura was very good. Particularly puzzling was the unagi roll. Not only did each piece of the roll fall apart, it was doused with so much eel sauce that it was hard to taste anything else. Looking back on it, I should have sent it back to the kitchen. Of note was the tempura banana dessert, which was a sort of Japanese take on a sundae! Putting crisp, hot chunks of fruit up against sweet vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup (not berries as the menu claimed) was...well, interesting. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it is novel. Average it out and it's a decent place, though I would only come again if I was in the area for something else to begin with. This place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. I was immediately annoyed because the music was very loud to me. That could have been due to the empty restaurant, the actual volume or my perception of the volume lol. I was really hoping for a more intimate vibe for conversation. The speakeasy lounge actually looked more like the vibe that I desired but I settled in and placed my order. I wanted some of the showier selections seen on IG, so I ordered the tuna tower and flaming Romeo & Juliet roll and a cute (albeit sweet) cocktail that came in a goldfish shaped glass. When the tuna tower arrived the young server asked me something several times which I couldn't hear over the music, so I just nodded. After she smashed the tuna tower, I figured out she was asking if I wanted it mixed. Lol my bad! I actually did not want it mixed but it was delicious anyway. The Romeo and Juliet roll took forever to stop flaming but once it died down, it was absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his roll as well and they gave him a complimentary birthday desert with sparklers. Overall I give service a 3. I would have liked a more professional presentation of the menu, hyping it up a bit. And a less soft spoken server. The food was a solid 5, everything was fresh and scrumptious. Overall I give Uni'ko 4 stars and I look forward to returning. I thought it was a good value given the extra razzle dazzle and food quality.
