I would give them zero stars if I could. This is probably the most unprofessional, unreliable company I have ever dealt with. As in other reviews, they started out great but they were hired to completely empty and pack up our home that was damaged from Hurricane Florence. After returning to the home after they "completely emptied" the house we had to have them come back three times for items they didn't pack up the first time. Then during the 8 months they stored our items, they kept trying to bill me more each month even though we had a contract for a pre-determined monthly amount. Then came the happy day when our house was done and we were ready for our personal belongings to be moved back in! Happiness quickly turned to sadness and frustration as I began unpacking boxes while they were moving us in. Six broken items in the first six boxes and many more broken items to come. Many dents and scratches in several pieces of furniture, many items/boxes of items that were not ours and many missing items....expensive items like a TV, a large framed picture, a brand new drill of my husband's, my Ninja blender and more. They "lost" three sets of mattresses, a large mirror to our bedroom set and the glass top to one of our dressers. All of the boxes were genetically marked and were wrong. Many mix-matched rooms in one box from different floors, making unpacking a nightmare. At first the owner Mark Hull was very apologetic and seemed genuinely caring. Then he dropped off the face of the earth. No returned texts, emails, voicemails. Nothing. Even when we requested his insurance information so we could file a claim, nothing. An employee reached out to us to tell us our "missing items" were given away as payroll payment. Do not use this company! According to NCUC they are not even licensed to do storage. They don't have their own moving trucks, which we didn't know because we were back in Maryland the day they packed us up, they rent U-hauls (which broke down the day they were moving our things back in and made them late.) I just want to warn people, if you value your belongings, do not use this company. read more

I have used this company twice before with no issues & recommended them to people. When I needed to move again, I Reached out to them in April for a May move date. Confirmed job with them week of. Job was scheduled for 730 am as I work nights. They didn't show up. They returned my call at 9 am and they said they ran late on a job & could be there at 4 pm as they had no other jobs that day. Received a call from another moving company at 2 pm saying the owner had reached out to them with the job. Heard nothing from the owner of hull brothers and ended up with a more expensive move from day laborers with an ankle monitor. read more

THEY ARE THIEVES! I moved from North Carolina to New Hampshire. The truck driver hit a bridge in Connecticut, ripped the top of the truck off, smashed most of my belongings and then left the open truck overnight in the rain. When the truck arrived 4 days late, I had lost my custom mattress and box spring, a $3000 leather love seat, irreplaceable items that my deceased brother had given me, my clothing and linens were all wet, my shoes were moldy and to top it all off, Mark Hull wanted $2000 more on top of the $3000 I had already given him! After arguing, he said I didn't have to pay that. He never replied to the letter that I sent asking for the $3000 back. It is 4 months later and I am still trying to figure out everything that is missing. If you want smashed wet furniture ,by all means, use them. BEWARE ! read more

This is the worst moving company on the planet, I would give them minus stars if I could. I have moved my entire life as a child of a career military officer and this is by far the worst ever. They are not professional and do not know how to pack anything. I have collectibles from Bradford Exchange, Franklin Mint, Roman Seraphim Angels and Fitz and Floyd.. most of which are now broken. Thousands of dollars worth of memories collected over a lifetime that is not replaceable. Cherished heirlooms ruined. They were packed unwrapped, with bottles of liquid toss on top of them They even managed to break 2 silk palm trees. Also several items from Mexico that are not replaceable. I have only unpacked a portion of the stuff now but so far there is so much damage I am sick to my stomach. Half of the boxes were not marked and several were moved to the wrong room. They left the house we vacated in a filthy mess with this tape rolls, bands from boxes and empty drink bottles and cups everywhere. They did not wear shoe covers and stomped nasty mudd in on the carpets as well. Also did not pack all of the kitchen.. the deck or the grill. Hull Brothers Moving company in Wilmington, NC is one of the worst moving companies I've ever had. They broke and scratched so many of my things, and some of my things were actually MISSING. Nothing was packed right... cords and pieces were in totally different boxes. My brand new TV and computer have scratches on them! Several one of a kind irreplaceable sculptures were broken. They put all kinds of different things inside my once beautiful fishtank, and didn't drain all the water, and I found 5 kinds of mold at the bottom of the tank. I had to throw out so many things that were ruined, I just cried. I've called the owner several times and he ignores my calls. Then he replied after weeks went by and said he couldn't respond because his wife was jealous. What does that have to do with anything? So unprofessional. Just want to let everyone know...don't hire this company. Big mistake. read more

I would like to give them a good review, but I cannot. Sean was very helpful in the planning and scheduling of the move at the beginning, but when we called to voice our concerns at the end of the move he was rushed and unfriendly, and we have not heard back from him. I have moved 20 times since college (mostly using professional movers) and Sean said Hull would now be my favorite company. Unfortunately, not even close to the other professional movers I have used. They are just missing that extra element of customer service and careful attention to detail. The movers arrived early on the morning of the move; however, clearly let me know they were very tired because they had driven all night to get to my house. I was under the impression they would be staying at a hotel, but that apparently didn't happen. They just were not careful, particularly in the packing of the truck and the delivery. Several of my boxes were crushed and for the FIRST time in 20 moves, some of my kitchen glasses were broken, and yes, they were packed the same way each time. The movers knicked a wall and simply shrugged when we pointed out that they took off part of the paint and some of the actual wall...something we had to tell our landlord about since it was so noticeable.
