We used to get the lunch buffet here occasionally before the restaurant shut down for renovations. The food wasn't awesome or anything, but it was ok (i.e., there were a couple things on the buffet that were good). This was the first time we've been here since the re-opening. They've done away with the buffet, and the quality has taken a nosedive. We ordered 5 dishes, and only one was ok. The General Tso's chicken tasted like Orange chicken, but re-fried with some peppers and given a new name. Really, it tasted like old chicken that has been put into the fryer for a second time. We ordered a Mapo Tofu dish that was completely inedible. It wasn't just bland, it was actually gross. The beef noodles were equally bad--the beef looked like the nasty bits that supermarkets sell for a deep discount and the noodles were just ramen without the curls. Finally, the chicken on a stick appetizer we ordered came out only after we were halfway through the meal (which ended up mostly untouched), and was also not very tasty. The only decent dish was the garlic broccoli dish. Maybe the restaurant changed ownership? Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day? Not sure, but we aren't coming back. read more

I ordered delivery, so I can only comment on that experience. I ordered off of the american menu and all my friends liked their meals. The crab rangoon was super delicious! I'm very surprised they delivered as far out as we were since most places typically don't. The food took long to arrive, but that could be because of our location and possible limited staffing due to the pandemic. read more

This restaurant has the best chinese food I have ever eaten. They have a traditional chinese menu as well as the regular americanized chinese menu. The crab rangoon is hands down the best. So is the general tso's chicken. I highly recommend. read more

Upon entering the long hallway leading to the restaurant, we had to stop at the waterfall to allow a turtle to cross very, very slowly from one side of the fountain to the other. This has never happened to me before in a restaurant. I didn't hate it. The amount of Chinese people, along with signs and newspaper in Mandarin, told me that we had come to the right place. There's also a "real" menu with authentic Chinese options. I kept it simple. The lunch combo is around $6, and my General Tso's chicken came with fried rice, an egg roll, and choice of soup. More food than I could eat in one sitting. Nothing amazing here, but all were good. The chicken was crispy and not drowned in sauce, which is hard to find in Blacksburg. The food was ready in 10 or 15 minutes, and the services was pretty friendly. I'd love to try the lunch buffet/more of their menu. I'm convinced they might be the best Chinese place in town. If you order from this place call ahead, no matter how simple your order. It took 25 minutes to get a hunan chicken lunch special. While waiting for my food I noticed how curt the employee was with me but seemed to be rather chatty and friendly with the patrons who spoke, presumably Chinese or Mandarin. What annoyed me most is that all of those patrons had a punch card that the employee punched while checking out. I was not even offered a card, even though the employee had to have seen me watch him sign off for all the other customers. Finally my food arrived. I opened it up to find no utensils or a fortune cookie. I asked for a fork, to which the employee asked "there isn't one in there?" I then asked for a spoon for my soup, soy sauce and napkins. Apparently they are short on napkins and spoons as he asked again if they were not already included and then FELT the bag to make sure I wasn't lying. Really?! Do people lie about receiving plastic spoons?! Even then, he only gave me a fork and soy sauce. I got back to work to realize I had no way to eat my soup and had to find a napkin in my car. For about $6 you get standard Chinese food, soup, and an egg roll. The portions were not that great--I could see the bottom of my takeout box so the food didn't fill it up. I had no more than 6 thin pieces of chicken and had much more broccoli. I think the broccoli may have been fresh; all other veggies were obviously pre-frozen. For the money there are much more filling options, those are quicker and provide a more pleasant experience. read more

If you like greasy Chinese food - and there's nothing wrong with that - this is the spot. They've got some nice dishes like the beef in fiery sauce and twice cooked pork (written in Chinese because I translated those myself...so they might look at you with a blank stare when you try and order that), but those two are super oily in particular. They also have an assortment of noodle and rice bowl dishes which I actually like, although my Taiwanese wife isn't a huge fan of. Prices are reasonable for the most part although some are out of whack - $13 for the fiery beef?! Apparently that's the norm as China Inn charges about that for the same dish. Strange because I've never seen it priced more expensive relative to other dishes at where I'm from (Seattle), the ingredients aren't more expensive, and the complexity of the dish isn't that much greater than the others. Anyway, you're not going to get the best Chinese in the world, but you'll appreciate it for what it is - greasy Chinese food. read more

Generic Chinese food. We got enormous portions of the Shrimp Lo Mein and the General Tso's chicken, so at least we got our money's worth. The decor was a little tacky and the service was okay. Overall it was what I would expect from a college town Chinese restaurant. read more

Try not to come here unless you like bad service and microwaved food. I honestly don't think they make a single fresh thing here and it shows in the taste and texture of the food. Tasteless and borderline disgusting. I've eaten from this place around 6 times to give you a frame of reference. The day they stop using the microwave is a day far, far in the future. The regular menu food is very good (the best in the area IMO), and delivery isn't too bad. The lunch buffet I think is lacking a little, though. For $10 I can't complain too much, but I felt it was extremely small and food choices were limited. I've paid just as much at Chinese buffets that offered 2-3 times as much food. Not very good, they have a greasy buffet and some okay entree's. Even the Chinese menu still uses low quality meat.

It took an 1 1/2 hours to get my food delivered ( I work 5 minutes from them, but was too busy to leave and get lunch). I ordered chicken wings and crab rangoon. quick stuff. I asked the driver what took so long he said we are busy and this is a college town what the h#ll do you expect? At that point I decided since he was cussing i would not be tipping him.he then said thanks so much for making me run out my gas to bring your f@cking food. I told him to get out. he then told me to f@ck off and left. I called the store back to complain about it, all they said is we will talk to him. I've gone twice. The first time, the service was excellent, but they burned my food. The second time, the service was OK, and the food was a little better. However, I did order typical American-Chinese fusion entries. Maybe this place is better for more authentic entrees. I liked that they gave me hot tea and fried noodle crisps with the meal. The presentation was good. However, the food was not that great overall. The General Tso's Chicken had way too much breading and not enough chicken. The quality of the meat wasn't that great either. The fried rice was OK, but it was a little greasy. The chicken in the fried rice was pretty bad though. read more
