4.5 stars Very nice decor and overall nice visuals when you walk in. The overall restaurant is smaller than most Chinese buffets but includes a small bar and a private seating area. The food selection is again smaller than most but after sampling most of the selection, it is not a factor. The egg rolls are good, pot stickers are good, fried rice is ok, and the Mongolian bbq is good. Sushi was good. The staff was friendly and service was quick. I noticed one fly but none around the food. As it stands, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant buffet in Wichita Falls. read more

This is the number one spot in Wichita Falls for classic fried rice. My family usually get shrimp, fried rice, combination, rice, beef, lo mein, beef, and broccoli and egg rolls to go. The customer service is always right then everybody is so polite. My order is usually ready in less than 30 minutes. When I call they already know my name lol I usually come pick it up through the drive-through. The inside is pretty quiet, the buffet is a bit small if comparing it to other Asian buffets in town, but the servers are always nice. read more

Went in for the 1st time with wife and 11yo child. Sign on wall said : Lunch Adult - 14.99 Kids- 7.99 Same for supper. No designation about any age limit, so assumption is that anyone under 18 is a kid. You don't become an adult legally until 18(17 under circumstance). Went to hostess and asked why we were charged for 3 adult buffet instead of 2 and one child. My 11yo had 2 playes of noodles and some fruit and ice cream. They said the kids cut off age was 10. NOTHING indicates this!!!! Wasn't even asked how old she was until AFTER we had ate and asked for check!!!! Won't go back to deceptive business EVER!!!! read more

This has very quickly become my goto Chinese place. I love to order ahead and get at the drive up window and get it home. But I also love going inside for some buffet. The buffet was clean and well stocked when I was there. It's large and it was hard to see all of it. There were little secrets I found each time I went up. The family decided that they wanted Chinese food. Having been some time since our last visit to the Hunan Restaurant, and been satisfied with the food, I went there again. Inflation & time have caused the restaurant to raise prices, & the menus had a sharpie black magic marker strike out all the prices. One of us ordered a combination fried rice, another ordered buffet Lo Mein, & I ordered Mu Shu Beef. Upon going home, I doled out the various meals to those who ordered them. I was absolutely shocked when I saw that they made the crepes, & put the plum sauce in the container, BUT SURPRISE! THEY FORGOT THE BEEF. Of course I was irate at this, & very hungry. They said they would send out a driver with the beef that was lacking. They took over 30 minutes to deliver to me. Then an even bigger shock. INSTEAD OF JUST BEEF, WHICH IS THE ONLY THING I WANTED, THEY DECIDED TO GIVE ME AN ORDER OF SPICY HOT BEEF AND VEGGIES. I TRIED ONE BITE, AND IT WAS GROSS. I HAD TO TOSS THE ENTIRE MESS THEY LEFT ME WITH AND HAD A BOWL OF CEREAL INSTEAD. THE PLACE WAS NEAR EMPTY AT 530 PM. THEY DID NOT HEED MY REQUEST FOR ONLY THE BEEF. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT ANY LONGER. I am also not a fan of being served something that I would never order. a meal for four was over $50.00 with the undeserved tip. There are a number of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean restaurants in the area, and I rate Hunan at the very bottom. Very nice staff! They have great customer service and you can see how they value their customers. The food has a lot of options and I like a their spicy bang bang shrimp, fried shrimp, jalapeño shrimp and most of the food is very good. They have a great selection of traditional Asian dishes that I love! I think they're really reasonable on their prices and they have a lot of options, The sushi is not good here, however! Their hibachi grill looks good but I haven't tried it personally. The salad bar isn't great along with dessert options, but it's a great price for so many options esp with buffets. This is the best place to get fast asian food. They know you when you call (don't judge me) and they are always on point when it comes to your food. If I dont want any ginger and no onions in my wife's fried rice that's what we get. When we pick it up at the window they always greet you with a great attitude, ask you about your day and give you a little chit chat. Food has rarely been off whenever I order. The food was great but I came here for crab legs on a Friday as advertised and when I arrived and asked the hostess, she let me know they haven't had crab legs in years. I stayed either way since they did have shrimp and salmon and it was delicious. I had noodles, corn, small salad, orange chicken sesame chicken, jalapeño chicken, fried rice, jalapeño rice, pork won tong, salmon, and wafers for dessert. Buffet to go is $6/lb more if you get sushi or crab legs. You get a container and option for a small bowl for soup or sauce. The food variety is good and tasty. Not only not salty. I was surprised but they even had fried frog legs which my boyfriend was surprised that it tasted like chicken like I told him. The food taste as good as it looks. The people are friendly and it was worth every penny. I had the orange chicken with rice noodles my first trip up. For my second time up, I had sweet & sour chicken with fried rice, an egg roll, and rice noodles. Though it didn't taste that sour and I was ok with that. This Chinese restaurant is a family run business that has been around forever. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and relaxing. As you would expect from a buffet, there is a wide selection of food. I'm not sure I have ever been to a buffet with this much food. You name it, they have it. There is bountiful salad, seafood (shrimp, mussels, crab legs), sushi, and of course, Chinese food. In recent years, they have added a Mongolian style grill where you customize your own bowl of noodles, meat, veggies, and sauce. It's a nice addition. One of my favorites of all time (and I mean it) is the fried sesame balls. It's a dessert with red bean wrapped in fried doughy sesame goodness. It comes out crispy on the outside and soft inside. We ordered call-in/pickup and when we got home with the food, the wrong menu entree was in the container and they refused to make it right for us. First thing's first, if you're going to a Chinese buffet and expecting deep, elegant flavors, then you're doing it wrong. Chinese buffets are for stuffing your face with food that briefly reminds you of actual dishes you would find at real Chinese restaurants. If you happen to stumble upon dishes that are good enough to stand on their own, then consider it a bonus. The restaurant is far prettier than I expected. Usually Chinese buffets have a dank, muggy feel to them, but at Hunan the interior is bright and spacious. Definitely a step up from the average restaurant of this style. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Never did I see the smile leave our server's face, and my glass was always full. The food itself is ranges from decent to silly, but I found my happy place in a plate full of chicken and mushrooms, beef and broccoli, teriyaki chicken, and their steamed white rice. I realize that not many people have the same zest for steamed white rice that I do, but I do feel that it's worth noting that their white rice was cooked absolutely perfectly. No mushy, sticky globs of rice here. No dry, chewy, under cooked grains here. For having the audacity to even care about maintaining the integrity of a food item that only weirdos like me fawn over, Hunan has earned a place amongst my go-to's here in Wichita Falls.
