This is my local Chinese restaurant and we've been going here for years. They've recently changed ownership as we noticed a slight change in their service. However, they've still put out quality food and have excellent customer service. The restaurant is small with a few tables, but the majority of the time I get delivery. They serve ample amounts of food regardless of which platter you get. Also, they offer a free can of soda or egg roll if you spend a certain amount. Their delivery service is quick. read more

I ordered delivery with Hunan Wok. My family and I come here often. I paid by credit card. Unfortunately, their delivery guy never came to our home. I called and they said they'd remake our meal. That didn't happen either. So, I paid for a meal that was never delivered. When we called the next day, they wouldn't admit their error. If I call to make an order, they lie and say they don't take phone orders. Then if my friend calls, they will take his order over the phone. So, they are not only thieves but liars as well. After giving them the benefit of the doubt, this business continues to prove themselves untrustworthy. I would have felt differently if they apologized or not lie about not allowing phone orders. So, I would recommend to everyone not to support their business. There are other small restaurants in the area that are just as good or better. So, please join me in supporting those businesses. read more

Hunan Wok (identified as only, "Hunan" on the sign above the shop), is a fairly typical Chinese/American suburban restaurant in the Fairgrounds Shopping Plaza just outside downtown Mt. Holly. The menu is what you expect to find in such places. It is set up primarily for takeout, but offers a few tables for those who prefer to eat in, as I did. My lunch consisted of Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice, & Wonton Soup. It was served to me in the takeout containers, with plastic utensils. The soup was straight up chicken bouillon and the wontons were thick skinned and of average quality. The Chicken itself was plentiful with a mix of white and dark meat, breaded, and drowned in dark amber goopy sauce, with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. It was not bad, but undistinguishable from most other such joints. The rice had been prepared in the same soup mix as the wonton, and carried the same yellow color. More than enough, but not worth carbing out on. Service was fine. The proprietress was engaged and efficient. The price was under $7 with a soft drink. read more

Very solid CHinese spot! I ordered my favorite - pork fried rice and General Tso's chicken from this place and the flavors were good. The chicken was tender, not rubbery like some other Chinese spots I've been to. The rice was not over cooked or undercooked; it was just right. My belly appreciated the fast service and the soda/fortune cookies were a nice touch (when order is $10+). Would come back again! read more

Pro: The estimated delivery time was 25-30 minutes. There's a knock at my door at the 18-minute point. Fast delivery is always a plus, I don't care who you are! The driver definitely earned his tip... Con: This is the type of review that's most difficult for me to write. The food itself was not bad, but not stellar. I had the boneless spare ribs, house special egg foo young, and and scallops w/garlic sauce. There was no true "stand-out" item; everything was just okay. I'm sure there's better Chinese takeout to be had, based on what I experienced. Bottom Line: It's hard to truly rate something on this 5-star scale without any "1/2" stars. Pretty standard strip mall Chinese food place. Food and speed were well above average though.

I've come to the conclusion that it is pointless to order Chinese food from anywhere in Burlington County unless you're ok waiting an hour or more. For me this place was the last straw along with Lim Fongs in Westampton. These restaurants have no perception of the concept that maybe one driver isn't enough on top of that the food is mediocre. read more
