I placed a semi-large order with them for a business conference, which I have to say they handled quite well. I wasn't sure on all of what I would need and things kept changing so I asked for about 10 different quotes through the duration of working with them. Caren was great and put up with it and managed to make it all work out just fine. The delivery was on time, the prices were the best I found (by a considerable amount). There were a few hiccups like they didn't have enough of the correct length tableskirts but they did agree to give me a different length and keep the cost the same as what they quoted (though it would have been a bit more expensive), which was fair to me. They didn't have to and weren't going to at first. Overall will for sure use them again. Improvement could be made, but was serviced fairly well. read more

Our company has used a variety of vendors in the past for our events, A1 has continued to be a valuable resource for our event success.

I have used A1 Party rentals many times. They're a little overpriced but they have a large large selection. Recently I rented 3 eight foot tables and 40 chairs my husband picked up to tables and later realized we received 6 foot tables instead of the larger tables. We had set up a party for 8 ft tables stable and it and this was a problem we had to rearrange our party set up. It worked out however I was a little bit upset. When I called on Monday morning to let them know what happened they were very dismissive they said you need to return everything in and take a we'll look at your paperwork. As if I was lying about what I received, no apologies. When I dropped off the gentleman who took the tables from me said he was the person who delivered the tables he didn't apologize. I went inside to talk to someone no one apologized. If I had simply received an apology I probably would not have accepted the refund. What I was more disappointed about was the service that I received and the lack of understanding. I had thought about going with a different party rental place where the chairs are 99 cents (cheaper than A1), however, they did not have 8 ft tables. I'm definitely going back to JR party rentals in Azusa where the prices and service are better. read more

A-1 has been incredibly unprofessional and difficult to reach after signing the contract. They provided us with a 5 hour window for delivery and showed up 2 and 3.5 hours beyond the stated time, with the second delivery arriving AFTER the event had started. They blatantly lied to us stating that they were 10 minutes away and "around the corner," only to show up three hours later. To top it off, they requested to pick up the rentals a day later than stated on the contract, as it would be best for them. I was going to place a big order with them for my wedding. I tried to complete an online order but their website was broken and kept randomly emptying my cart. When I called and spoke to Tiffany on the phone she was rude and unprofessional. She didn't want to help me place my order over the phone, instead she sent me their entire inventory/price list, with hundreds of sizes and items, and told me to basically figure out what I wanted, type it up, and send it back to her. I am shocked that she didn't want to do her job and instead wanted me to do all the work for her. I'm so glad I checked Yelp, because now I know for sure its not just me. Our company has used A-1 for years for our events and the last few years the professionalism and customer service has deteriorated to the point where we will not use them anymore. Some of the more egregious breaches of confidence include: not dropping off and picking up rentals at the contracted day and time and poor communication when trying to rectify the situation. If we wanted to have a guaranteed drop-off or pick-up time, we could, for another $180. That's not what we wanted--just pick up your equipment when you say you will. We have jobs, too! When a co-worker then wrote to express our dissatisfaction with this latest incident, an assistant to our representative wrote back that we weren't their only client. Shop around and don't bother with the hassle that is their "customer" service department. read more

I called them 2 weeks ago about renting umbrellas and string lights for my baby shower and husbands surprise party. The 1st lady was hopefully but never called me back. Finally a week later their coordinator what ever he is, gives me a call and asked me questions about measurements. Fine I should know BUT I don't know where or how they could be held down. He decided to come measure no personality at all! Then he said that he would try to email me that night or the next day with a quote. It's been 7 days and no email! Seriously get it together!! Losing business fast. Be grateful that people at least try to deal with you guys. Taking my business somewhere else. Ps I feel like the judge if you have money which some of us don't show it. I'm a Mother of a Bride and everything that has to deal with Wedding is stressful but exciting but not A-1 Party Rentals. They were professional with excellent service from their Coordinator Simon to the delivery truck drivers. At first looking at their website I felt a little funny ordering for a small Bridal Shower but the Owner Chet's respond was, Your "little order" is for your daughters bridal shower and to us thats a really big deal. Do not use this company, we were putting on a high school reunion last month and after many visits to the store and confirmations galore, we had issues. They don't help set up just leave items everywhere. They changed the original prices quoted, overcharged us by hundreds, charged us extra for pickup, said we owed for chair covers that they didn't take off the chairs in the first place ..they did not honor their contract and are just unprofessional all the way around. All of us on the committee agreed we would never use them again for our future events. read more
