Not too far from where I live and I have stopped here multiple times. Nice variety of meats and various products from Europe. Fried bacon cannot be beat. Everytime my friend visits me from NY he requests a stop here. Stop in and try something!

Outside it says Hungarian Meat. I had to check it out. If you love Head Cheese, this place got it. And their fried bacon was delicious. I had a meatloaf sandwich with a bit of honey mustard. They have all sorts of meat and sausages. They had samples out and the sausage is sooooo good. I wish it was closer to Groton.

It's a huge sandwich! Butter knife provided for context.

Huge sandwiches here for $7.99. I had the meatloaf (mixture of ground pork & beef) with Swiss, lettuce and tomato on a nice loaf of Italian bread. i was filled up on just half the sandwich.Everything is made to order here! And all the other smoked meats sold here are awesome as they do not add any preservatives.

A tiny Hungarian market. Not many items. But they have the Pick's Hungarian Salami (from Hungary)

Supposedly the star of the show is their goulash, which I didn't get a chance to try.

I had a Fantastic experience taking Custom Meat's Butcher Class with Nick. They do it at the Shop…read moreand they provided great Snacks: Sandwiches (Featuring Bread from Fatto a Mano), Sliced Meat, Cheese and a selection of Beer. They provide a fresh cut steak cooked on-site to enjoy as well and at the end you slice your own steak to take home with instructions on how to best cook it. The class is designed as Close up Observation and Explanation. Nick walks you through the entire process from the cooler, tools and breakdown of 1/2 of the main trunk of the Animal. He covered all aspects of cuts, anatomy, how and why they part it out the way they do, what to look (and watch out for) as he is doing the knifework. Nick also does it in a way that makes it engaging, understandable and answered all of the many questions I had along the way. One Note: If you are squeamish, remember you are seeing up-close knifework and the physical manipulation of real physical structures and their parts being broken down. For me I came away with a whole lot of knowledge that hits different than you will see in an Online Video or book. It also gave me a deep appreciation of the reality and skill involved to create what we end up enjoying on our table. Nick was a fantastic instructor and all-around great guy. For those with an interest in learning more about meat in general I highly recommend the class. It was a great time from start to finish. 2 BIG Thumbs Up!

So this fed 16 people it's seven bones. The one I got from custom meats, fed for it was three bones. It was a ton of fat that I cut off.

Not sure how long this place has been around but it appears to be a hidden gem with very few Yelp reviews. I am happy to give them a 5 star review with the quality of the service and especially the food! It's a typical meat store with some of their own packaged sausages and ground meats but they make a mean sandwich. They have about 5-6 sandwiches to choose from. It's also more of a grab and go place, they have a few picnic tables in front to eat at for warmer weather. My wife and I split 2 subs. We had the roast beef and the turkey. Both were very enjoyable but the turkey stood out a little more for me. It was pomegranate glazed turkey breast with baby arugula molasses and a spicy feta dip that packed a punch full of flavor to complete the sub. The roast beef had a horseradish tzatziki and olive oil with their pasture raised beef, everything was really fresh. I could not leave out the seeded bun in this review, soooo good, couldn't be any more seeds on this wedge in a good way, the bread is outstanding. Both of these subs were only $12.99, amazing price compared to other sandwich shops, the pictures don't do the sandwich justice, was incredible, will be back!!
