I made my 2nd trip to The Tasty Yolk today. First time I had The Banker. I heard a local Fireman ‍ order "The Slenderizer" and decided I'd try it today. I added a Griddle Smashed Potato and some Tito's Green Sauce. It was DELICIOUS!! The Slenderizer is new to the menu so I took a picture so you'd all have the latest options. They had a special the other day with Burrata and I think pesto. Definitely worth the drive! I probably go to their storefront once a week but I have never ordered from any of their food trucks. Coincidently, I ran into one of their trucks last weekend and ordered The Toma with bacon. First visit to Tasty Yolk on Fairfield Ave in Bpt on a wed morning and got the Banker, which is a steak, egg and cheese sandwich for $5. Not a bad sandwich. Great bun, although it was a little large and slightly overtook the rest of the sandwich. The guys running the trailer-based operation were very friendly and professional. The food was obviously fresh and prepared to order. The steak in the sandwich tasted like steak, rather than processed beef which is often used for breakfast sandwiches. My rating system is to give 4 stars on a first visit if I really like the place and up it to 5 stars after a few visits if it's consistently excellent. TY has 5 star potential in my view. Not sure I'll always find them as they move around but I'll try them again and see how I like the other sandwiches. read more

We enjoyed breakfast on the beach in Southport this morning - and what a treat to have a delicious breakfast with someone else doing the work! My guess is at one point they were offering a discount for good reviews. This place isn't awful, but there are far better places to get a Bacon Egg and Cheese, especially in Fairfield county. The make or break for most sandwiches is the bread, and they are using some AWFUL bread. It isn't a Portuguese roll, or a bagel, which are really the only two things an egg sandwich should be served on. They also take a lazy way by scrambling the eggs instead of sunny side up. Kind of hysterical as the name is "The Tasty Yolk", you won't get any egg breaking here. Bacon was cooked a while before my sandwich was made as it wasn't fresh, and way overdone. Overall for $6, it's not terrible, but a five minute drive to main st to Merritt canteen would be a way better decision. And you would save a few bucks. Oh well. I tried. Staff were friendly and service was quick. If they improved their bread choice and put just a little more love in their food I may return. Unfortunately I think there far more concerned about profit margin then food quality. read more

Great spot if you feel like treating yourself to something that tastes gourmet but, isn't super pricey. The best way to know where they are is to follow them on Instagram they update quite often. They also show their specials on their Instagram page and it's a great way to know what the new concoction of the month will be. Last month I got the mad batter I believe it was called and it consisted of a waffle that had bits of bacon and cheddar cooked Into it along with two eggs. Such a mouth full for $6/7 The best part is that they are usually parked in front of source coffee house where you can also get a yummy latte while you wait :) This is my favorite food truck for whenever I can manage to wake up early enough to find them. read more

The food trucks are usually open until lunch time and offer a smaller menu of mainly breakfast sandwiches. The Fatone is incredible for an egg sandwich wrap.
