Sad... stopped in to enjoy a hot dog special: bacon sausage with onions and cheese on a buttered brioche bun (and a side of fries). What did I get? Some sort of sausage on a slightly grilled bun and a side of Fritos. The server was kind and offered to get it made correctly. After 25 min I finally went up to the counter to get my refund (my friend had finished her meal and I wasn't willing to wait any longer); I asked about my corrected order. They remade it and tried to hand it to me - and offered no apology for messing up my order. I happily accepted the refund. I wonder if the bacon sausage would've been tasty? I'll never know...

The place is set on the main road not to far from the free museum. There is plenty of room for dine in and the staff is friendly. You order up front as you enter and can choose inside or out. This place like some others have a sea type theme and decor around the inside. The food was really hot when I got it and tasty too. I got the jalapeño cheese burger with the fixings , while my friend got the fish and chips I also got the an order of the onion rings which came straight from the fryer. Another good one for me. When back out this way I will try the tacos .

I took a break with my husband and drove to Long Beach. When we got to town, there were car events and markets, and the streets were crowded with people. I couldn't park on Main Street, but it was nearby. For lunch, we chose Hungry H Grille. The interior was like an old-fashioned American restaurant. After looking at the menu, we ordered fish & chips and breadball of clam chowder. You can't get free water, but the water bottle is 23 cents, so don't worry. When you order, you will be asked if you want to eat outside or inside the store. Two women in the store bring food, but it takes quite a while. Fish & Chips was delicious because it was freshly fried and hot. There were plenty of clam chowder bread balls, so it was just right for two people to share. The restroom is located in a confusing location, but it is available. Good place to eat here.

My diabetic mother-in-law came in with her water bottle and was immediately told no containers even though it was a water bottle. He yelled at her and it was very rude. We didn't stay because he was yelling at her. Rude customer service. He could have at least used a calm voice. Would not recommend.

After reading the wide variance of reviews we decided to see for ourselves. We both had the 2 piece Cod Fish 'n Chips served with Clam Chowder and Cole Slaw. The Cole slaw had cranberries which added a nice flavor. The Fish 'n Chips were generously portioned and the chowder was thick and warm. The servers and atmosphere were friendly. No complaints other than it seems prices are going up here along with every where and it's getting more expensive to eat out.

We try to stop by whenever we're in town. Above average food at a good price. The place is always clean.

I haven't gone yet but I've read two reviews saying the owner is trash so heck you owner. The food sounds nice, though. yum yum.

Very good clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Bottled water is only a quarter. Very pleasant staff. Will definitely be back.

It happened to be the evening of a Seahawks game-so it was crowded. The staff was totally on the ball and seated us in a booth in a minute. The food was delicious. I like calamari, but done wrong, they can taste like fried rubber bands. Not these! They were delicious, prepared perfectly, with a delicious dipping sauce. Our meals came out promptly and were delicious. Try the fish tacos! I'd come back again if I visit the area again.

We arrived before 5:00 pm, and it took a while to even put an order in. Even though we were sitting in the bar and there were a LOT of servers/bussers/etc. We ordered the Mushroom burger, the Chicken Bacon Guac burger and the Prime Rib Dip. Let's start with the pros - the Chicken Bacon Guac burger was pretty good! But the Prime Rib Dip had something like shredded meat on it, not sliced meat. So, when you dipped it in the Au jus, chunks of meet fell into the Au jus. Be ready to fish them out with a fork! The Mushroom burger was an exceptionally thin burger. Our server asked how we wanted it cooked. But it didn't matter. A burger that thin was coming out well done, no matter what. It had mushrooms on it, but not many at all. And we ordered the Cajun Tater Tots. Tonight, it was just like someone cooked tater tots, then shook some seasoning on them, and maybe the lid fell off the seasoning? They were drenched in some kind of Cajun-adjacent spice. We had recently been telling visiting guests that the Lost Roo was the one consistent, reasonably priced restaurant on the peninsula. We're going to have to stop telling people that now. Sadly, it'll be a while before we go back.

Crispy, flaky, fresh, and absolutely delicious! My only request is a few more fries because they disappeared faster than my willpower around good seafood. Coleslaw: Let's just say... it had seen some things. The cabbage had already started making its own juice and seemed one step away from becoming sauerkraut. Definitely not my cup of tea. Tartar sauce: Good! No complaints. It quietly did its job. Service: 5/5. The staff were amazing! Super friendly, welcoming, and the food arrived incredibly fast. They definitely earned top marks. Ambiance: 5/5. It had the charm of a classic fishing shack, packed with fun nautical decorations and quirky touches. It felt authentic, relaxed, and like the kind of place where fish stories get bigger with every visit. Overall, I'd happily come back for the halibut, the fantastic service, and the fun atmosphere.

First off, I'm biased: I don't expect "amazing" from railroad-inspired diners.......this place…read moreproves how shortsighted that actually is. I stopped in hoping for reasonably priced fried seafood.....the Loose Caboose stopped me in my tracks! The service was attentive and really efficient, the ambiance is artfully decorated dollar bills stuck in between railroad and coastal memorabilia......it's an eclectic mix for ambiance. But: I just had probably the best clam chowder I've ever had. More clams, big chunks of clams, than potatoes......and somehow even tender, yet still identifiable celery? For real, I'd eat a gallon of that chowder. I almost took some to go. Fortunately, I went a bit jiggy with my fried prawns.....and got the 10pc! Like the chowder, the prawns were beyond excellent. Lightly breaded, tempura, almost. The breading actually had body and flavor....it isn't window dressing! And the prawns were very big, very juicy, and absolutely the perfect level of done.......a revelation among prawns, for sure! The sauces didn't taste like they came off the food service truck either. Both the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were exemplary. The added coleslaw was bright and crisp with just a hint of malt vinegar.....a perfect dressing! I stopped in for just "some food"......what I got was a delightful experience. I'll absolutely be back!
