Wow! Totally impressed by this place! We were visiting and had our small dogs in a stroller and were looking for a place to eat. Saw the high ratings and "smash burger" sign, so we had to try it out! The waitress was extremely friendly and interested in the dogs and very nice and accommodating for our family. She told us about the puppy burger which was perfect for our little dogs to share, and they loved it! We had feta smash burgers, a regular smash burger, shared a large fry, and got a bowl of clam chowder to share. Everything was so tasty and freshly made. The food came out fast, too! NOT a food truck, a building with actual tables and seats. Used to be a food truck, but they've upgraded... The owner was wonderful, super friendly and kept everyone taken care of with a great smile. We were the fifth table, but food came out without a long wait. Classic smash burger was awesome, and the fries were bomb. Given pricing these days, might be on the higher end for a burger ($20), but you get what you pay for; and these were juicy and flavorful, so I'd definitely go back again. Right off the back I got a warm welcome, the wait staff were all very nice and friendly. The place is a bit small but you still get separation from other tables. It's very nice inside, feels like a beach town place. The food was absolutely delicious, my kids got Root Beer floats and they were the best they've had in a long time (they are root beer floats enthusiast) and we shared a Poutine fries and a Captain's Plate. I got a Huckleberry Cider, boy I could drink those non stop and I do not drink very much. My Gusband got a Bouy Cream Ale, he said it tasted good and it was strong. One of the hidden gems of Long Beach! Hidden? Not really, but unless you're heading to the beach approach at Bolstad, you might miss this awesome place. We've been four or five times in the last 2 months. Yeah, it's that good. Everything we've had has been great, and sometimes we just go for a drink and appetizers. The burgers and fries are excellent, and we always seem to order the cheese curds and jalapeño poppers. Yeah, they're that good. The owners, Dawn and Brent, are just wonderful people. Always friendly and outgoing. It's a pleasure to walk into their establishment. They remodeled the building when they moved in, and it's really warm and inviting. Can't recommend this great restaurant enough. The peninsula seems to have a lot of mediocre to average restaurants, but D&B's Food Hut isn't one of them - definitely at the top of our list. And we really like that we can recommend D&B's. Too often, we'll recommend a place on the peninsula, only to have friends come back and say, "Really?!?" because of the lack of consistency. B&D's used to be in a food truck, but now have a brick and mortar dwelling, on the Long Beach approach on the main drag. The beef-lamb gyro is good; a decent amount of meat and very tasty tzatziki. The clam chowder was very tasty, too. Liberal amounts of clam hunks, too! Very satisfying and satiating, especially on a cold, wet PNW day. The small restaurant was cozy and the waitstaff sweet. We discovered B&D while visiting Long Beach, and I'm so glad we did. The food was absolutely amazing -- you can tell they take real pride in what they serve and how they serve it. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the service felt genuine and personal. We actually ended up going twice during our trip because the first experience was that good. I believe the gentleman who shook my hand and the older waitress we met might've been the owners. He was so polite and respectful -- he asked where we were from and what brought us to town, which made it feel like he truly wanted to connect with his guests. That level of care and hospitality is rare these days and meant a lot. Wait times were minimal, and even when it was busy, the atmosphere stayed cozy and relaxed. The bathrooms were spotless, and while we ordered takeout both times, we enjoyed waiting by the fireplace in their front seating area -- such a nice touch. What really blew me away was how they packaged the food. They left the lids on the to-go boxes open to let the steam escape -- exactly what I do myself to keep food from getting soggy. That small but thoughtful detail says everything about how much they care about quality. Funny enough, we actually found B&D after leaving another place off the main street where we weren't acknowledged at all -- bad vibe, bad service, we just walked out. Driving through town for work I was starving so I hit up this cute little cluster of food trucks. The taco one didn't look all that great and the chick working was stressed so I move next door to B&Ds and omg what a score! The ladies working were super nice, and the truck was very clean. I selected the cod sandwich and fries, which came with a drink. It was ready in about 10 minutes and I was on my way. Already happy. First of all - these fries are amazing. Amazing. Crispy outside, soft inside, lots of salty seasoning on top. Truly everything a fry should be, and then some. The sandwich was also legit. We've been coming up Long Beach from vacationing in Astoria over the years to enjoy the boardwalk and bustling Main Street. We've walked by B&D's every time, and finally decided to grab some of their award winning chowder to go. They had just opened and were quite busy, but the lady who helped me was very pleasant and accommodating. The chowder was delicious but wasn't my favorite. When the spoon can stand up in the chowder it's too thick for me. I added a little milk and it was then perfect for my liking. $12 for a pint. read more

This weekend, I took some friends to the new restaurant to try out the new menu and ownership. We were pleasantly surprised. The new owners were very friendly and have renovated the restaurant space to a more practical and relaxing setting. Their menu is quite extensive, but it offers something for everyone. I highly recommend starting your meal with their cheese curds, which were amazing. We also enjoyed the gyro, fish and chips, halibut sandwich, and hamburger, all of which were served warm and cooked to perfection. Most notably was the very friendly service and the owner checking in to ensure everything was okay. Take advantage of the extra attention you receive, and hopefully, it will continue in the years to come. This place was just okay. We were greeted promptly and offered about four tables to choose from. We settled on one and had our order taken quickly, which was a plus. The cheese curds were pretty good, but the gyro had so many toppings that it was hard to tell if the meat was even hot, which made it kind of gross. The bbq chicken sandwich didn't have a lot going for it. The onion rings were tasty, but the "award-winning" clam chowder was extremely thick and quite bland. It seems like everyone in Long Beach has award-winning chowder. Overall, this experience isn't something worth repeating. read more

I've driven from 5 miles away on two separate occasions to try them for lunch. Web site on both occasions indicated that they were open but the doors were locked and the sign said closed both times.
