This is a second choice we checked out because our usual restaurant was closed for construction. But was pleasantly surprised! I got the clam chowder bread bowl for $7.99 reasonable priced compared to another restaurant within walking distance farther down the street at $17.99!! The restaurant was small but offered tons of choices to choose from. The Pumpkin pie shake was amazing!! They said they actually take a a piece of pie and blend it with the shake.. it was very good.. my husband liked the hamburger and said it was good. They had a back room i guess to plays games but it was closed for a party.. i would reccomend trying the place. read more

Fairly decent food for the price, sure according to other reviewers they charge for everything, but at other restaurants the main courses are higher-priced allowing them to give you condiments and water for free. You should give them a try! read more

I was disappointed in the $12.95 fish and chips plate. The tarter sauce tasted like mayo, fries were very overcooked. The coleslaw was just shredded cabbage a little carrot and I tasted no dressing at all. The fish it's self was moist inside and crusty outside so it was pretty good. When we expressed our opinions to the cook we were told he tastes the dill, and joked about that's the way he was told to cook fries. So we won't go back. read more

For a fastfood-ish place, this was pretty good. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious. My husband had a burger, I had clams strips. Everything was hot and the fries were crispy. Not fancy, but solidly the best meal we've eaten in the past 2 days since arriving in Long View. read more

My hubby and I were staying near the hungry harbor over the new year's weekend and we decided to try it out. I'm glad we did. Superb clam chowder and awesome burgers. Hand pressed patties and fresh lettuce/tomatoe. The fries were amazing....crinkle cut fries and not greasy. Great place for a quick lunch or just a cup of chowder. read more

Overall, it's a nice place. I wouldn't write home about the chowder or the fish and chips, but it was good. Customer service was decent to above average. If your looking for killer fish and chips I'd go somewhere else, but if your house hungry after going to the harbor, I'd recommend this place. read more

Omg I looooooove the Hungry Harbor. The first time we went here was after a 6 hour salmon fishing charter out of Ilwaco--I was exhausted & some calorie-laden fare was just what I needed. It was only 11 o'clock but I ate a full basket of beer battered salmon & fries. It was so good I made my boyfriend go back later that night. I wish it weren't so far away from home. It's a bit expensive, but my family thought the food was worth it. The big bowl of clam chowder for $4.99 was hot, creamy, and delicious and is served with corn bread! The 3-piece halibut fish and chips ($13.99) was very good, too. Yes, it's up there in price, but halibut is expensive anywhere. If you ordered the same thing at a fancy seafood restaurant it would be about $20. read more

I got the Bacon Cheeseburger which was very tastey. The fries are nothing special, you could probably but a frozen bag of fries at the grocer and make your own that taste better. All in all the burgers are worth stopping in for. Hungry Harbor is a bit pricey though. read more

My wife and I had a recent business trip to Long Beach and we stopped here for a quick bite. Couldn't believe we were the only ones in the place. I ordered a cheeseburger w/ fries and a strawberry shake and my wife had fish & chips. The service was fantastic! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The food was great, but the milkshake was a shake that brought back memories from my childhood. It was a TRUE strawberry shake. Forget about using the straw for the first 10 minutes, just use the spoon! Real, fresh strawberries just like the old days. Thank you for the memories. read more

Been to long beach several times, first time eating here, terrible and is clearly from the freezer, not very friendly and they charge for everything!! Even ranch for fries! My husband ordered the chicken and strips and asked for no coleslaw and ranch for his fries and they are going to charge us for the ranch even though he didn't want the coleslaw! Don't waste your money as they are not cheap either. You want good food, go to castaways or one of the many other places in Long Beach! read more

Delicious burgers and shakes. When you go, make sure you look at more than just the big menu, there are all sorts of other options posted all around it on brightly colored signs. It wasn't bad, but if we went back we would only stop there if it wasn't busy. Consequently, we went during the Clam Festival and, it was very busy and even though you order fast-food style, it took about 20 or more minutes to get our meal (longer if you include the time it took us to wait in line to make our order). They overwhelm you with fries and the meal screams average fast food. We actually spent more here than we would have at Burgerville, which I would say is a better quality. Only one toilet for customer use, unisex. They have a sign saying to try the public restrooms available just a block north or south on the main drag. With how many people were there when we went, you might want to make sure to make yourself comfortable first... Advertises free Wi-Fi, but the open hot spot did not have access to the internet. The secure hot spot may have been what we needed, but I couldn't find a password and the help was too busy to bother asking. I should have read reviews first but this was a spur of the moment road trip with me and my girlfriend. We saw the bagged pancake mix AFTER we ordered so we knew nothing was going to be that great. I ordered the halibut and chips which came with slaw and fries. GF ordered just a bowl of chowder. 1. Slaw was dry and no flavor. 2. Tartar sauce was gross-mayo and dill and warm. 3. Halibut? More like Gorton's Fish Fillets... 4. Chowder...luke warm...almost no taste. For the size of the portion, about the right price but slow service (they were NOT busy). We went here on our first night of vacation to get fish and chips. The fish (3 pieces of cod for $10.99) was good. Probably not the best on the beach, but we were hungry & tired and it was easy (wanted take out to go back to the cottage with). We also ordered onion rings to share (side order, $9.99). Big mistake on those. Worst I or my husband had ever had. The small ones were really overcooked and ultra greasy and the big ones were very underdone. Had I not been so tired from our long day of driving and sightseeing, I would have driven them back to the restaurant to complain. You can probably get better fish and chips, and certainly better onion rings, elsewhere on the beach. We won't return the next time we are in the area. read more

This place was busy, but the line to order moved fast. Plenty of places to sit, inside and outside. The staff calls out your number and brings the food to you. It takes a while, but so worth it. The staff and owners of Hungry Harbor are just great. I have never had one meal that has been a disappointment. They have what I would say the best hamburgers around. When my parents come up from Arizona every summer that is the first place that they want to eat at and take all of their friends.
