My partner and I decided to escape the Portland Oregon heat and experience Long Beach Washington. We had two dogs with us , one in a carrier , and the other in a carrier backpack. We were told that we weren't allowed to have the dogs in the restaurant, which both of us understood and respected. My partner asked if we can just order our food and we would eat outside . We were told to order our food from a window outside, which wasn't meant for ordering food. It was as regular window. All things aside,We thought that was very rude. I waited outside with both of the dogs while my partner ordered our food. Moments later, a white women walks in carrying a golden retriever puppy. My partner and I waited to see if they were doing to tell the women the same thing? Ten minutes past and nothing . They weren't asked to leave and they ordered their food like normal. We felt completely offended and discriminated because we are Latino gay men. My partner called to question their decision, and the women justified the dog being a service animal. Which it wasn't at all. She offered no apology, and showed no empathy for our complaint. After this event, it completely ruined our appetite and ruined our experience . read more

Came to leave a review after a very unsettling experience with the rude owner only to find someone with an experience identical to our own. Walked in to order lunch, carrying a box of baked goods for later. We were told very rudely that no outside food was allowed. The owner Dennis Roberts is extremely rude and racist. I walked into the restaurant for takeout holding a little brown box with antiques from next door (posted below) and a really nice young lady asked me if I was ready to order and I told her I need a few minutes and she said "okay, let me know when you're ready." While I was looking at the menu I noticed the owner Dennis Roberts watching me the whole time. Dennis Roberts (owner) walks up to the register from the kitchen and tells me there is no outside food and beverage allowed in the restaurant. First off, I was holding a small brown box from the antique store next door so I'm not sure why he was assuming I had food. He literally went out his way and came from the back of the kitchen to tell the only black person on the block that I couldn't bring my box in here. This guy had no reason to believe I had food in this plain unopened brown box with no labeling. The young lady who greeted me and asked to place my order said nothing about the stupid box but this Dennis guy couldn't just let me order my meal. I was with another person and Dennis didn't even give us the option of one person stepping outside with the box. He pretty much just said we can't order. I kindly walked out and took my business next door to Captain Bobs which is an awesome husband and wife who were very friendly and mentioned nothing about the box I was carrying. As I walked back by Hungry Harbor Grille, there were multiple white people walking inside to order food with boxes and bags but he continued to let them order. This is a prime example of why people of color are so upset with America. I was unfairly treated just by the color of my skin and nobody can tell me differently. read more

Pretty tasty food, but not cheap. The fish and fries were crispy, but had no salt on them. The cole slaw and taco salad had good flavor. The chowder tasted more potato-y than clam-y. The kids liked the bacon burgers. The $3 shake special was a good deal on the day we were there. They have specials everyday, so call ahead to find out what they are. I would not recommend this place as they can not keep up with the orders. One burger took 35 minutes to get out from their kitchen. As Gordon Ramsey would say "Just F*&%ing ridiculous!!!" This is my go to spot for whenever I am craving curly fries! They offer both regular fries and curly fries as well as cheesy curly fries. I tried both and I love it. Last time I went was when they were offering take out during the pandemic and ordered curly fries with two cups of ranch and they even gave me extra ranch and included two rice crispy treats as extras which was very sweet! We went for the annual Go topless Jeep beach day and had a blast we did bring chips and sandwiches for lunch but didn't eat that because the thought of fresh seafood was definitely on our minds so we spotted this place and there was plenty of seating and good prices the stall was prompt and courteous in helping us I ordered the shrimp and chips my wife ordered the special which was rich and chips with clam chowder the food was served fairly fast my shrimp was crispy and delicious not dry or greasy cooked perfectly the cole slaw was also crispy and sweetened by raisins or cranberries not not all sauced up I tasted the clam chowder and it was really creamy full of clams and potatoes a great tasty chowder indeed I apologize for not posting pics but we were really busy eating and pictures were not on my mind I do recommend this spot and hope you enjoy ot as well and will definitely post pictures on my next visit.. happy dining and thanks for your time.. read more

Went for a burger with two hungry kids. They closed at 8:00pm. We made the mistake of showing up at 7:48pm. The young lady had already put the chain on the door. When my husband pointed out the it was not 8 o'clock yet. She took the chain off the door to stick her head out the door to tell him off. She said she's been there all day and she's closing early. The service here at hungry harbor grille is hit or miss, the man taking our orders looked like a retired pirate and was quite cranky. However one of the waitresses was very sweet AND had avocado tattoo which was AWESOME. However despite this service the food was quite impeccable. My sister ordered the harbor burger which she loved and the curly fries were quite amazing as well. The Italian sodas we ordered were a bit thick and syrupy which was understandable due to the heat. Being disputed about the wrong doings and then hung up on when politely asking to right their wrong. What a joke. Walking through downtown, looking for a quick stop to pick up something to supplement the dinner I had planned back at the resort, we stumbled upon Hungry Harbor. The couple running the restaurant was very friendly. I ordered a bowl of chowder to go and choosing between the roll and the cornbread, the man (I'm assuming owner) suggested the cornbread because it's made in-house. He gave me great instructions for reheating it so it would be as good as when it's served fresh in the restaurant. On the walk back to the resort I told my husband about the pleasant experience I had and we decided we'd visit again and eat there in the next couple of days. When we got back to the resort I heated up my clam chowder and the cornbread (a super cute mini loaf). I admit to being a bit of a chowder snob. There have been many chowders that have disappointed me over the years. My favorite clam chowder is Ivar's. This comes a close second. It was full of clam chunks - nice and thick and creamy! And the cornbread? Well I was happy I picked it. Nice and sweet. I often worry about ordering cornbread because it can be dry. This was moist. It reheated perfectly. I can't wait to have more chowder and cornbread. We will definitely be back! read more

The halibut fish and chip basket is 20 plus dollars with tax and the halibut was flat dry and the breading was so hard it was like eating a overcooked fish cookie. I mean he's 13 and LOVES all things fried. I had the clam chowder. It tasted like the opened a can of campbell's clam chowder and then added a little bit of bacon. For $5 so not worth it. My daughter had the clams and chips. They were little fried logs that I'm not sure actually had any clams inside them. For $40 very disappointed. We are visiting from Vancouver, Washington. Very happy with our order. We called in and paid over the phone, per COVID instructions, thank you for the safety. We got the salmon & chips, kids cheeseburger and fries, a clam chowder bread bowl and the hungry platter for 2. My 5 year old, whom we got the burger for, ending eating a piece of the fried salmon, this doesn't normally happen, so that was the first clue they are doing something right. My 10 year old ate over half the clam chowder, and 3 of us who don't like clam chowder ended up loving it was well. Affordable, delicious and most importantly, safe! Okay, I usually don't leave reviews but this place was really lame. Poor service and high prices! Thumbs down. My companion and I ordered chicken strip baskets with modifications to our fry choices. We both got curly fries (which were under cooked) and they completely ignored my requested for curly cheese fries but charged me from them nonetheless. My husband and daughter got the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl and I got a Taco Salad. The chowder was thick, chunky, piping hot and full of flavor. The bread bowl was soft and tasted freshly made. My taco salad was loaded with meat, cheese, tomatoes, onions and jalapenos with salsa and sour cream in the side. The lettuce was crisp and green; no old ingredients used.
