Visited 5/11/24. Giving this place a very strong 4/5. Super cute spot in west Duluth that is fairly new to the Duluth food scene. My friends recommended it and I'm glad that they did. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating available and a solid menu that has a good combo of mainstays and specials. The majority of us got the pineapple taco special with the fry bread as our shell. I would definitely recommend getting your taco in the fry bread option, as it worked perfectly with the flavors of the taco. It's pretty large too, which also is nice! A little bit on the pricier side despite being a larger dish when comparing to other local taco places (especially compared to taco places in the cities), but I liked the fry bread spin on things. Unique menu items--not your typical taco place--but there's also a "build-your-own" option for less adventurous eaters. I got the Space Rancher without bacon, and we shared some spicy cheese curds. Everything was excellent, and I love the "northern spirit" fused with southern chipotle flavors. Great seating options inside and outside. Swung by for a quick lunch and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. I was glad we got there when we did, after we ordered there was a line out the door!! The person taking orders was nice and the food came out pretty quickly. I got taco with the applewood pork on a corn tortilla. It was a little messy, but the flavor to the meat was great and there was a kick to it with the chipotle sour cream. The group I was with all enjoyed everything they got. I also tried a bite of the blueberry fields forever and thought the blueberry BBQ sauce had great flavor. They had a lot of hot sauces to choose from if you wanted to add more. I got a beef brisket taco- it tasted delicious!!very flavorful. I should have gotten two. The salsa with the chips wasn't great didn't taste very fresh and reminded me of jarred Tostitos brand. This food was nothing short of pathetic. Chipotle has horrible portions and yet they manage to get a serving size to price infinitely better than this. On top of that, the food is mediocre at best. I have made better and I'm not paid to cook. It seems as if they bought the packets of seasoning from a local grocery store. Salt pepper and garlic would do wonders compared to this. If I were to return to this restaurant it would be with a gun to my head. I do not wish this abysmal waste of money and time to befall upon anyone else. If I pay $14 for a bowl I expect a bowl, not a pathetic excuse of a tray filled. And 5$ extra for chips??? I could pay that to make my own chips that would taste better than any of this. Been wanting to check this place out for awhile, so my daughter and I had a little lunch last week. We each got a taco, her the ground beef and me the applewood pork. The flavor was delicious! Like REALLY good. I asked for everything on it, and it was about the same size as my daughter's with only lettuce and sour cream. For two tacos it was $22, which I think is a little steep, as no chips or anything come with it and both tacos fit in one of those paper boats. That would have been nice. We usually love this place and include a generous tip when we can afford. However, we had visited 7/19 around 2pm and a younger girl was working the register, with an absolute attitude may I add, so we don't tip, we also order a glass bottle coke with our to-go order and she doesn't ask if we want it opened, just opens it and walks away, he had wanted to open it when we got home. We get our food (at a great speed as always) and another girl throws our food down and unwillingly pinged our pager. Went Sat 3/11/23 at 12:30 for lunch. One woman working the cash register as we walked up she was in the phone and didn't even look up to acknowledge us. On this one call she took probably 15 different orders and continued to not look up. After 10 min or so another cashier came up and got my order wrong. At this point the line is out the door so I had to wai back in line to get my missing fry bread taco. Food was horrible. Very dry fry bread and the spiced ground beef was also too dry and had huge clumps of meat in it. Avoid. Awful. read more

Hungry Hippie Tacos was recommended to me from a co-worker of whom I trusted. I will never trust another recommendation of theirs again. To start off, the customer service was near horrible. All of the girls working had very snippy and rude attitudes. I felt like I was in the middle of the movie mean girls. I ordered my taco, to find out that it's 10 dollars for one single taco. So In my head I'm gonna be getting a dinner plate sized taco shell, but In reality I got one medium sized taco. Granted, it was pretty tasty. And I was hungry and willing. So I give up an additional 10 dollars for another taco that ended up being TWICE the size as the previous taco at the same price. OH! And it had a HAIR in it. All the while this is happening, my girlfriend is barely Enjoying her taco bowl, soggy shell, cold meat and all. The salsa was literally from a can of salsa purchased at the nearest super one foods.
