I have only had the $5 pizza's for lunch. Its better if you can call ahead or stop in and order first because like most pizza hut its just a take out place and it does take time to make it. Was out driving around with no particular destination in mind. So I decided to stop in at Hungry Howie's, there's only one here in Colorado as far as I know. I'd never had Hungry Howie's and I'm no pizza aficionado but I know what I like and I now like Hungry Howie's. I had the small Howie Works with the Asiago Cheese crust. I was going to bring it home but thought I'd try just one slice before I got to the car. Well one turned into two and two into three and before I knew it I was sitting on a bench outside the store devouring the whole thing. I didn't know what to expect as I said I'd never had it before, as it turns out, It was 8" of flat out goodness. The crust, I don't really know how to describe the crust, it's like no other I've had. It was flavorful, crunchy and tender at the same time, the perfect bed for the toppings. The toppings were fresh and plentiful and the cheese oh the cheese, it had to be the best mozzarella I've ever had (the works comes with extra cheese). I'm starting to sound like a food critic which I'm not. Suffice it to say I have a new favorite pizza and I'll be visiting Hungry Howie's often. read more

Moving from Chicago, we thought it'd be really hard to find pizza that would compare to home. Let me say, the deep dish here is out of this world. It's not your textbook deep dish you'd find in Chicago but this was pretty amazing. We got the cheddar garlic flavored crust. The large didn't last 24 hours... And there are two of us. The customer service was unbeatable as well as the fast service. None of the major chains can even compare to the quality of this pizza. We've tried all the pizza joints in the area and have definitely found out go-to place! Keep up the great work and amazing food! Definitely this neighborhoods hidden secret. read more

I am a self-proclaimed pizza critic! My partner and I probably eat pizza about once a week and I must say this is by far the best place we have tried in Denver! We ordered a large Pizza, Cheesy Bread and Cinnamon Sticks and everything was EXCELLENT! We had called in our order for pick up and everything was ready promptly by the time they said it would be ready, I didn't have to wait at all. Ordered online and was told to pick up the food in 20 minutes. I got to the store and was told it would be another 45 minutes. The store was full of people waiting for their food. I asked for and received a refund. Now I need to figure out something else for dinner. What a waste. If they aren't ready to be open and handle the business, they shouldn't be open. Sorry, I wanted to give it a try, but can't imagine ordering from them again. Don't tell me 20 minutes if it's going to be over an hour. If I was told it was going to be over an hour, I would have showed up to get my food at that time, but waste my time running out to get the food in 20 minutes and then tell me it will be at least twice as long, that's a no go! read more

Great food & great service has been my experience! Just looking at the outside I would have thought the pizza would be somewhere along the lines of "Chucky Cheese", so I never planned to even bother ordering anything from them. However, a friend of mine brought it to the pool one day, so I tried it, & was pleasantly surprised. I've placed 3 orders online since then! The website is extremely easy to navigate unlike some others, & the prices are good, the menu selection is good, the food is good, their timely, & friendly! As for me & my family, we love this place! I read a couple reviews with less great things to say, & I'm wondering if they were maybe still working though all the kinks since they are a fairly new business at this location. So, I'd say it's definitely worth another try! read more

First let me start this by saying my husband used to travel to St. George, Utah for work quite a bit. And everytime he was in town, he'd ALWAYS order HH for dinner. So when we saw one had opened not too far from our house, he was excited. I read the prior reviews on awful wait times and we decided to wait awhile before going to see how things stacked up. We called in our order for pickup and our order was hot and ready when we arrived. No wait, no delay. That was unfortunately, the only plus. I ordered a thin crust cheese pizza and the crust was like soft cardboard. Very bland and disappointing. Reminded me of the pizza parents are forced to eat while at a Chuck E Cheese birthday party. My husband ordered an original crust BBQ something or other and it was not good. One slice in he decided it wasn't edible and tossed it to the dog. Since I couldn't get past half a slice of my thin crust cheese, I had high hopes for the Howie Bread that we also got. Hopes were dashed when I bit into fluffy, garlic flavored cardboard. I now have a box of Howie Bread and almost two full pizzas in the trash... biggest waste of $26 ever. Will not be coming back and will not recommend to others. Oof. Epic pizza fail. read more

Started making this place our pizza spot, until today. Placed our pizza order at 4:00 and also our wings at the same time. Both 20 min wait... went to pick them up, wings were done at wing stop, we get to the place at 4:20ish to get pizza and it's not ready okay. 4:40 comes around and nothing still. My son is waiting. I finally get off ask the gentleman how much longer we have been waiting for an additional 35 min for our pizza. Our wings were at this point cold. He said oh we didn't see you second pizza so it's going to be an additional 10 min. No at this point I've been waiting 40 min additional for my pizza to be ready. I just wanted my money back he Called the owner or manager, all he said was there was a confusion with the order. I'll void our payment for it not to charge. read more

Hungry Howies pizza is great. BUT, what makes this place really outstanding is the ownership and customer service. We order from them a couple times a month when we're feeling too lazy to cook and they always impress us. Pizza is hot, fresh, and the deliverer is always professional and friendly. The turn over of employees is low which tells me that this is not only a great place to eat, it's a great place to work! What pushed me to write this review is an above and beyond experience I had with them. I needed 3 pizzas for a party delivered to me at 10:30AM the following day even though they didn't open until 11AM. I went in thinking they wouldn't be able to accommodate me, and was pleasantly surprised. The owner, Joel, was more than happy to come in early to make this happen! Joel is a great example of an outstanding, customer-focused owner and I can't wait to use them for more events in the future. read more

My work ordered pizza from Hungy Howie's, and it was DELICIOUS. I'm not a huge fan of pizza normally, so wasn't very excited that we ordered pizza. However, I was very impressed. First time here. The service was great, the pizza was better. Howie Bread is the best "bread" we have had. This is a great alternative to competitors, and better tasting also. The good news is that they deliver within a 3 mile radius, which happens to include where I live, even better. I was told that my food would be ready in 15 minutes, but it was ready in 10 minutes. I had the same issues as everyone else. I think the thing that bothers me most, and why I'm writing the review hoping they see this, is that they were not honest at all when everything started crashing and burning. I placed my order at 5:42 online, paid, and received a quote time of 20 mins. I took my kids out with me and walked into a tiny waiting room crammed with at least 20 people. Uh oh. Bad sign. When it was my turn, I gave the girl my name. She walked to the back and came back saying it would only be about 8 minutes and they'd call my name. No biggie. I waited for 35 more minutes (on top of the quoted 20) watching person after person get the run around and refund after refund be given. Eventually, I got up to check. I didn't need for it be ready right then, I just needed an honest answer that it was getting worked on and it WOULD be ready. The lady apologized and said they were getting kinks worked out. Fine. No big deal. I just wanted to know she saw my order and it was getting worked on. She eventually walked back after I pressed for a real answer instead of their generic response and said it would be 12 more minutes. When I pressed further to ensure she saw my order going, a manager (??? Maybe owner) stepped in and mentioned the ovens were down. I'm not sure that was true as the kitchen was still going in chaos, not at a standstill. I think he came up with a lie and in hopes to refund and clear people out to start fresh. I'm an understanding person when I see things like being totally overwhelmed with business. I've had years of serving/bar tending experience, but you're just going to make people mad by lying. theres no way those two people actually saw my order when they went back to "check" on it and quote a time. That's where the big problem lies. Unfortunately, it was never resolved. I'll give it a month and check out reviews again before I waste my time, even with the free pizza coupon the manager gave me in addition to the refund. read more

Placed an order online for delivery. I received my order confirmation at 5:44, it stated delivery would be 40 minutes. It is now 7:06 and my order has yet to arrive. I tried calling to check on my order and received a fax machine 4 times, my 5th call connected but I have now been on hold (while I type this) for 12 minutes waiting for an answer. Total Bill = $10.80 but added $2.00 tip; I was a walk-in. I believe the young man who assisted me was Zach H. - that is the name at the bottom of the ticket (Order #24) - he was young, white, tall, blondish hair, thin. Although I've driven by this store many times, I've never went inside nor ordered on-line (I live outside the delivery area - in Murphy Creek Golf Course subdivision). Today, I decided to go inside and see what Hungry Howies was all about. The customer area of the store was very clean - what I could see of the back of the house also presented as very clean and organized. Zach was extremely polite and helpful in explaining the concept, discussing the delivery area, assisting me with the menu / special - just all around an excellent customer service experience! I placed my order and was told it would be about 10 minutes so I sat on the bench and waited. During this time, I could overhear part of the conversations Zach was having with the other employee. My observation was that both were very professional - using verbiage like 'please' and 'thank you' with each other - unless you are at Chick-Fil-A, this level of courtesy is not often heard in a QSR / Fast Food location. I was impressed! The pizza was very delicious - especially enjoyed the seasoned crust. Professionally, I'm a senior-level manager in the hospitality industry with many years of inspecting hotels for cleanliness, maintenance and observing customer service engagement. My observations today and interactions with Zach would have resulted in an Outstanding score for this location. Note: my pizza was ready within the quoted time frame; granted - it was at 2:30 p.m. on a Saturday so not overly busy. read more

When they did arrive, they were luke warm. We also ordered the salted caramel brownies. They were not good either!
