I've found Orange to be struggling with good Chinese takeout restaurants lately. On a whim after a Yelp search, we tried Hungry Panda and we were so glad we did! We got chicken and broccoli, hot and sour soup, and shrimp egg rolls. All were delicious. No pieces of gritty chicken, perfect heat in the soup, and the egg rolls were crispy without being greasy. Our order was ready for pick up very quickly and I would say the prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of food we got. Usually I split my Chinese into 2 portions but this one lasted me almost 3! The staff was also very friendly on the phone and in person when we went to pick up our order. Such a pleasant experience. Awesome new chinese spot in Milford. Very clean inside, really quick delivery and pick up turnaround time. Everything i've had is consistently great and well priced. Really great deals and portions for lunch specials. Some of the best wonton soup I've ever had, and they give you 3-4 dumplings per small container, when most places give you just 1.This is the best chinese I've had in Milford since before Jani closed circa 2010 (and I miss it every day). Today we (mom & me) decided to try the Hungry Panda. Going in....we were hoping they had air conditioning. Well.....we walked in....and there was no a/c. Was rather warm. In fact the lady behind the counter asked one customer going out to leave the door open. Then she got mom and me a fan that was blowing directly on us why we sat there eating......THANK THE LORD!!!!!!! Now on to the food. The restaurant has a window area that customers can sit on stools and eat at. Was nice....and roomy enough. To start mom had the chicken rice soup and I had the wonton/egg drop mixed soup. Both were very tasty. We both ordered combination plates and they came with egg rolls. The egg rolls were fresh and tasted very good. I ordered an appetizer of steamed pork dumplings. This was the only thing I wasn't happy with. They were full of ginger....which I really don't care for....and it seemed like there was quite a bit of it in the dumplings. I ate a couple and then turned the container in when I went to pay. I did tell the young lady that I didn't care for them.....and I asked if I could get them next time without the ginger in them. And she said no.....sorry......we make big quantities of them and we can't do that. So really....if you don't like heavy ginger.....stay away from the steamed pork dumplings. My dinner of shrimp with lobster sauce and pork fried rice was AWESOME!!!!!! Mom had the pepper steak with onion and pork fried rice and she said that it was AWESOME too. Very tasty.....and she couldn't believe how much meat was in it. Definitely not your average Chinese take out. The food is fresh and the addition of some Korean favorites are great. We had the Korean fried chicken and it was crispy and spicy. A unique item on the menu was the corned beef and cabbage with cheese egg rolls. They were surprisingly delicious. I don't think you will go wrong here, nice addition to Milford. read more

Very good takeout. Wish them the best. I wonder if their background is Korean or Chinese as they offer both cuisines. I felt like the Korean dishes we got at this takeout visit were better. The Chinese choices were your typical American-palate-friendly offerings. Pork Dumplings were very good with nice thin skin and generous filling. Asked for pork dumplings to be pan fried on my online order, but they were just steamed but still delicious. (I wasn't sure If the "fried dumplings" on their menu would be deep- or pan-fried so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. The Szechuan style dumplings were delicious steamed with a heavy coating of sauce--not spicy. Dan dan mein were very very spicy. Pork fried rice was very dry with oddly small rice almost like it wasn't cooked enough--just odd--not like Korean style but not like Chinese either. Shrimp and string beans were good; the large order had about eight good size prawn in it. The Korean fried chicken wings (soy flavor) were incredible and not spicy--crispy and cooked well, seemed authentic; if you get them to go, open the container promptly, so they don't get soggy. I wish I took a paper menu on the way out as I wonder if the paper menu offers additional selections than their online menu? Prices were very good for takeout in this area. I'm in Connecticut for a week and looking for a food adventure. I came across a review of Hungry Panda that mentioned corned beef and cheese egg rolls. That's not something I'd ever heard of and definitely got my definition of food adventure so I went. Ordered the the Corned Beef and cheese egg roll and a bulgogi bing from their specials board. I asked for a recommendation from who I presume were the owners. We settled on Mei Fun which I'd never tried. Ate the egg roll right away with Chinese mustard. Loved the familiarity of the taste of corned beef, cabbage and cheese (I enjoy Langers in LA, Katz in NYC and Kenny and Ziggys in Houston) through a novel delivery vehicle, the egg roll. Thoroughly enjoyed it. They brine and make their own pastrami apparently so it's possibly they are out from time to time. Worth it if they have it. The bulgogi bing was an interesting mashup of Korean bulgogi and kimchi prepared in a Chinese pancake burrito style. Loved that too. Would order again. I didn't save room for the mei fun so had it for breakfast in a park in Greenwich overlooking the ocean. Enjoyed the spicy curry flavor. If I lived nearby, Hungry Panda would definitely be in my rotation of take out food places. read more

Ordered orange chicken with fried rice. Did not like the orange chicken at all. Firstly the chicken was not fresh and appeared stored in fridge for too long. Secondly there was no flavor to it. The chicken barely had any orange chicken sauce over it. Thirdly, the chicken was so hard to chew that it left behind stringy stuff after chewing couple of times. Food isn't bad, but not worth the wait. $3 delivery fee when it takes over an hour and 20 minutes to get food in a Wednesday night when they quote 30 minutes just is shitty service to me. I moved to CT from NYC years ago, and the struggle to find shrimp fried rice that is ACTUAL shrimp fried rice, and not yellow rice with shrimp in it , has been REAL. Well, the struggle is over. Saw this place online, decided to try because it's new, was HIGHLY SATISFIED. Saw other reviews give the general tso's rave reviews, and even though I'm more of a chop suey/chow mein kinda girl, I ordered it. It was good. My husband said his meal was good too. Thank the LORD we have FINALLY found a good Chinese food restaurant for takeout with REASONABLE PRICES AND QUALITY FOOD! There are also Korean dishes, so I'll be trying those as well. read more

Lucky they get one star! The woman that answers the phone is nasty and rude! My food was mushy vegetables with a sauce that looks like snot! Food is horrible way better Chinese food in Milford! Stay away from this nasty restaurant! I called back to complain about what my food was like wondering why they sent me what they sent and she told me she doesn't need me as a customer! during covid I've tried to only buy food from small family businesses to help keep them afloat, but this one will no longer get my business. read more

This restaurant is really not different from any other restaurant. They have some strengths and some weaknesses. The Chinese food was okay. The Korean food, from our perspective, was much better. We are not Korean but we loved the flavor of the Korean food. The Chinese food didn't taste like particularly great Chinese food. It was fresh and edible but not spectacular. I think you get a good meal for the money but if you are expecting some next level food then you will be disappointed. The Korean food was really good though. Again, not next level but much better than the Chinese offerings. Maybe Chinese food is more easily marketed in Milford so they go with that but if I eat there again I will be ordering the Korean dishes. read more

Was very disappointed in the lack of customer service with the man who took my order and payment. Very disrespectful and rude to me when I realized I had received the wrong order. He yelled at me "no we did not" and when I said I will take a picture of it he then put me on hold obviously to talk to chef who confirmed that they had given me the wrong food. He did not want to make it right with a future correct order so obviously not coming back to this establishment. read more
