I got the chance to try this new spot for dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted. The spot was spacious. I ordered: Fizz-O Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade Classic Chicken Sandwich Deluxe Chicken Sandwich Firebird Hot Chicken Sandwich Bird Bites Honeycone Chocolate Dip Ice Cream Cup (Garlic Herb, Dilly Ranch, Honey Mustard, Butter Bird, Sweet & Sour, Fire Bird, Creamy Buffalo Sauces) My favorite was the Deluxe Chicken Sandwich! And I loved the sweet and sour sauce! All in all a good experience!

We've been here a few times since Hungry Bird opened and it's been consistently great every time. The menu is small, but everything is executed really well. Fresh flavors, seed oil free, AND fairly priced which is almost impossible to find lately. Sold, sold, sold. What really makes this place stand out though is the customer service. The young woman who usually works the front counter (I forgot her name, but she has gorgeous eyelashes so she's memorable!) is always incredibly kind to my family and genuinely seems happy to be there. That kind of warmth goes a long way. Refreshing to see a local business putting this much care into both the food and the customer experience. We'll definitely keep supporting them.

First timer here. Surprised there was like only chicken sandwiches on the menu. Regular and hot. Many sauces to choose from as well. Service was fast and friendly. Food hot & fresh. Also had like chicken tenders sort of as well. Definitely recommend.

So good I love this new chicken sandwich place. They also have amazing ice cream cones delicious it's brand new it's cooked and seed oil free and the chicken sandwich sandwiches are gourmet. I love the honey. Dust cone dipped in chocolate really good love the atmosphere too.

I have been hearing about Lover Dogs for quite some time and I visited recently for the first time…read more These hot dogs surprised me and I can honestly say that they might well be the best all the way hot dogs in the area. I went back a few days after my first visit because they were THAT good. When I walked in, I was greeted by the owner, Wayne Mills. We had a lovely conversation about how he opened Lover Dogs and how Lover Dogs has been his dream retirement. On the walls, there are photos of his brother Gene who was a renowned wrestler in the 80s. Wayne gave me a tour of the outdoor patio and the downstairs area that he plans to expand for breakfast/brunch. The patio area overlooks a nice view of the Passaic River. After the little tour, I ate my all the way hot dog. Lover Dogs hot dogs are air-fried which I thought was very unique. The chilli sauce is out of this world. Super flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Wayne explained that he spent a long time perfecting the recipe and worked with several people to develop. The hot dogs are Hoffman brand which he discovered when he visited his brother many years ago at Syracuse University. It was really nice to see Wayne pay homage to the previous building owners with a framed collage on the wall. I am a local history nerd so I really loved seeing all of the old photos dating back to the early 1900s. Please visit this awesome local business!

So it confused my brain since I was expecting an Italian sausage. Would I order it again most likely not. Probably just stick to a plain old frankfurter.

Another one of those annual holiday get togethers with friends. This year we visited Smash'N Pizza…read more(former location of Nonna Marie's). Smash'N Pizza a great little upbeat neighborhood pizzeria on Union Blvd. In Totowa feels fun from the second you walk in. It's the kind of spot that's just as good for a casual slice as it is for a laid‑back burger with friends. The room is limited in size but buzzing, with bright red and black splashed across the walls, a few chairs and tables, and décor carefully planned so the whole space feels energetic and modern. Logos and graphics are scattered throughout, giving the restaurant a playful, branded vibe that makes it look and feel like a cool little Italian hangout rather than a typical slice joint. Pizza, which we shared as an appetizer is the star, with pies that come out hot, crisp, and flavorful, piled with fresh toppings if that's your choice, and a sauce that tastes like it was made that morning. As for me, I always prefer a plain cheese pie. Right alongside the pizza, the burgers were surprisingly fantastic too, juicy and well‑seasoned, and the menu branches out into plenty of other tempting choices to accomodate everyone's taste. I tried the double cheeseburger, along with fries and onion rings, and would certainly recommend giving it a try. Service and hospitality were on point, quick and friendly. And being greeted like a regular, even on my first visit, and checking in often without hovering was appreciated. The overall atmosphere made the place feel welcoming and relaxed, turning a quick lunch into the kind of experience people look forward to repeating. BTW: Smash'N Pizza is a BYOB and has off street free parking. Thank you to Roberto (Robert) and staff for a nice afternoon. We will certainly be back. 12/13/2025

We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us in the dining room as long as we could wrap up before 1:30, which we appreciated. I wasn't super hungry so we shared the crispy cauliflower and lamb ribs from the appetizer menu. The crispy cauliflower was excellent -- hot, actually crispy, and not drowning in sauce which I really appreciated. The lamb ribs came over labneh (a yogurt base) and the first plate arrived with the lamb cold. I asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said only the labneh should be cold. They immediately replaced it with a fresh order and handled it really well, which I appreciated. Great service recovery and overall a really enjoyable brunch spot with a lively atmosphere.

We dined at the bar as we were seeking a drink and a light snack. Calamari was GF and delicious (wish it was more crispy tho)! We also ordered the GF dry rub wings. Amazing, crispy, flavorful! Ambiance: 10/10 Drinks: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Parking: 10/10 I wish the bar staff smiled. Though they were great at serving us and providing us our items accurately, most had the energy of a deflated balloon. A smile could have went the wrong way, or even a proper greeting. I'm going to assume it was simply a long day, and hope to see them in the future hopefully on a better note. They still received a 22% tip for their service.
