I angled towards the crab cake sandwich on a brioche bun w/ tartar sauce. It came with crunch my sweet potato fries. So yummy! My friend got the blue cheese burger w/ bacon and traditional fries. Cooked just the way she asked for and delicious. The desserts looked fabulous, but alas we were too full to partake this time. They also have a full bar and can make all sorts of cocktails. The food here is decent. Came here for lunch. I started off with fried calamari for my appetizer. For my main I ordered the lunch special: matzah ball soup and pastrami on rye bread with fries. The calamari was fresh, but it could've been better sized. As for the Matzah soup it was very tasty. The pastrami on the rye bread was very delicious had no complaints. I wish they could've put more pastrami. They could've stacked that meat. I couldn't eat all my French fries because they were big and nicely portioned. Upset this is the review because I frequent this diner, but it was a multitude of things that went wrong with today's visit. Let me set the stage that the dining room WAS NOT BUSY and had ~4 servers taking care of it. 1. We walked in and were seated. We were almost immediately greeted by our server for our drink order. When he came back with our drinks, he asked if we were ready to order. We told him we needed a little bit of time. He must've stopped back 2 more times not even 3 minutes after we told him the first time we needed more time. Slightly annoying. 2. When we were giving him our order, we weren't even done giving our full order and he was already walking away from our table. This came to be a theme whenever he came to our table. I also noticed it when he was at other tables as well. 3. The person I was with ordered a side of broccoli. As you can see from the photo, it's literally a whole head of steamed broccoli on a coffee saucer, sitting in a little bit of water (that wasn't even fully drained), and the broccoli wasn't even cut off the main stem. Would that have been too hard? She did order "a side of broccoli." We didn't know it was LITERALLY a side of broccoli. 4. My order was a beef gyro. I got it with the side greek salad (which was an option), and the waffle fries (also an option). My order that I RECEIVED was beef Gyro, in pita, with nothing on it, some waffle fries thrown on a plate, and a Greek salad that was completely dry, no dressing. He didn't even come with dressing. I looked at the Greek salad and said "this looks dry, is there no dressing on it?" He said "what kind of dressing would you like?" I said "well since it's a Greek salad, can you bring Greek salad dressing?" He said sure. When he came back with the dressing, I inquired about the beef gyro. I said there's nothing in the pita except for the beef gyro. He said "well it's not wrapped" I said "what does that have to do with having tomato or onion or anything inside? He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Annoyed was an understatement. It wasn't like I could chalk this up to him being extremely busy, and/or the kitchen might've screwed it up. The diner was dead, he didn't have a lot of other customers, and he was more concerned with sitting in the back booth being on his phone. If I was not an existing customer, I would never return. We ordered hot open turkey sandwich gravy mashed potatoes and broccoli, Rueben Wrap and a chef salad, all the food was delicious, plenty to take home afterwards, server was very nice and food came out in a timely fashion. We heard the park west was under new management and they did a great job in changing the decor. OK, it was a good New Jersey diner. Fast forward 9 years.. Went today with two of my friends they sat us on the side of the diner that had nobody else seated sat us all the way in the back. Nothing wrong with that. Ordered two coffees and an orange juice. Waiting, to order food the waiter I think(??) who seated us and took our drink order, sat behind us eating his breakfast 12 minutes we waited nobody came. The worker behind us was just eating his breakfast. So we left I asked for the bill and for two coffees and one small orange juice-hold onto your hats-$14.70. I was just dumbfounded we went to the Allwood diner after that for actual breakfast. 2 cups of coffee was $6.50 for 2 cups! and we were served and no one hid us away from everybody. Haven't been here for around a decade, I heard that there was new ownership taking over and wanted to give it a hoot and holler. Friendly staff, cozy diner atmosphere! The Mac and cheese with prosciutto was super creamy and cheesy, so flavorful and delicious! Sandwich with au Jus, focaccia bread was soft and herby and the au jus was perfect for dipping, fries were ok, crispy. The seafood bisque was very tasty, came in a large bowl for only around $6. The chicken gyro came with side of tzatziki and featured tender chicken and plenty of toppings. Took a while to get our check though, and they could use an upgrade on the TVs. I recently went to Park West Diner and found it notably different and not in a good way. As I left I was introduced to the new owner and he notified me that things were changing. I loved it before and now will have to find a new go to spot. I traveled 20 miles round trip and that's too far to be disappointed again. I will especially miss Freddy. It came open faced and with a tasty side of fries. My wife is on a restricted diet, so she ordered a grilled chicken sandwich without the bread. They throw in the garden with it. She got sweet potato fries. We asked the waitress how they were prepared. She said they come greasy! What the heck, we can always dab the grease off, right? I told ya, it has old diner vibes. Haven't been here in years but heard it was under new management so came to give it a try. The inside is the same - everything is a bit dated. Sat down and looked over the very extensive menu which seemed to be a lot of typical diner food and some specials. Opted for a turkey dinner which came with soup & salad. My dining companion opted for an open faced turkey sandwich that came with soup or salad - she opted for soup. Soups came out - very large portions - chicken matzo and split pea with croutons. Soups were tasty. Soup was cleared from table and we anticipated getting my salad next. NOPE out come both dinners. When asked about the salad the waitress stated "oh well the turkey was ready". clearly lessons need to be learned about timing the progression of a meal. I reluctantly said to wrap the salad and I'd take it home since dinner was here. First issue - turkey was supposed to be served on stuffing (with gravy over turkey and stuffing). Nope stuffing was on the side. Vegtable option turned out to be 1 stalk of broccoli. Stuffing did not appear to be homemade. Next issue - everything on plate was at best luke warm but overall cold. Nothing steaming. Baked potato cold. Gravy lukewarm. Broccoli cold. Turkey did not appear to be real roast turkey but more of processed turkey roll (in fact my companion kept picking strings? wrap? from her turkey. Her food was also barely warm. Waitress came and asked what issue was - told her my food was cold and I no longer wanted it (I literally tasted two bites). She offered to warm it up - I declined. She said she had to get manager. Manager came and asked what problem was - told him food was cold. He offered to heat it up - I declined saying I just wanted to be done. Also told about salad. My companion also stated her food was at best barely warm. He offered to make something else- I declined. He insisted he needed to make it right and would make something else free of charge. I again declined. He persisted and kept asking what he coukd do. I finally said you can take this food away and leave me alone so my companion could finish their food. He did. He came back about 5 minutes later offering dessert and saying he "felt the food" and it "felt warm to him". He offered dessert and offered for us to take dessert home - we declined. At that point my companion asked for a box to take her food home so she could reheat it and eat in peace. Truly a disappointing experience all around. Will not be going back. read more

We've been going to this diner for years and it's always been top notch food and service. I hear there's new owners...you can tell. Today when I husband and I stopped in I did not recognize any of the staff. Servers were all new. Our waiter quickly took and brought our drink order but then disappeared. Once he returned for our food order, it was tough to keep his attention. It was odd. We both ordered eggs, I got an omelet and husband got the Hungry Man's breakfast. The eggs and sausage on both plates were ok but the home fries were cold. Toast was also cold and barely buttered. My husband told me his pancakes were stale. He poured on loads of syrup, they should has been drenched, sopped with syrup. Instead, they were dry, no syrup soaking in. How hard is it to make fresh pancakes? During the meal we never saw our server again, even after I drained my glass of iced tea. I did eventually get a refill but no lemon? We were disappointed with our meals. We had family in from out of town and they miss the NJ diner experience so we went to Park West. It has been a family favorite for many years and is now under new management. That sometimes results in changes you don't like. Not the case here! We ordered from the specials menu as well as the regular menu. Everything was fabulous! Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap for pickup. This was so poorly wrapped that i couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. Not to mention it looked and tasted like they cooked the lettuce! However, NJ certainly popularized them. Located off Route 46 West in Little Falls, this classic, chrome-clad establishment was known especially for its salads, where my partner and I came tonight for dinner. Upon entering Park West Diner, we were greeted and got a table by the window. Its interior showcased the classic 50's vibe lit by neon lights. Their huge menu has a lot of options with different price ranges and healthy options, too. We decided on Greek Wrapper and Philly Cheese Steak Wrapper. Complimentary 3 bean salad started our meal. Our food was delicious and arrived quick. The fries were nice and crispy. Our server, Ismail was attentive and would check on us to make sure we had everything. The price was reasonable. Park West Diner, my experience at this diner was not completely satisfactory. The Matzo ball soup, while unremarkable, fell flat. On the other hand the Mexican Salad with grilled chicken was a highlight, featuring a fresh and savory mix of salad greens. beans, cheese, avocado, mango, red onion, and a lime cilantro vinaigrette, this salad was awesome and I highly recommend it! Dessert was disappointing, the Baclava cheesecake was a misstep, with the Baclava component being dry, and inedible, whereas the cheesecake element was luscious and enjoyable. So I used to go to the Park West diner on a regular basis. It is under new management. The owner introduced himself and said he dumped over $100,000 into the kitchen already. I ordered an American cheese omelette with a side of bacon the bill for that one omelette and a side of bacon was $21 and change in the past it was around $16.90 maybe $17 so the prices have significantly increased under this new Management, it is crazy that a cheese omelette with a side of bacon is $22. read more

It's a golden rule that diner coffee is okay at best so didn't have high expectations. Ordered the French onion soup and it was sizzling. Perfectly seasoned, bread was fresh and the cheese had a nice bite to it Got a typical breakfast egg platter, over easy - fries, toast and turkey bacon. Everything was good. This was my first time here. They have a huge menu that includes breakfast foods, sandwiches, many fish dishes, 3 different soups. Greek food, and some Italian dishes. The main entrees come with a salad and soup. We had the french onion soup (delicious) and the chicken soup. For entrees we shared the stuffed shrimp and the stuffed red snapper. The snapper wasn't actually stuffed, they put the crab stuffing on the side (a little strange). My boyfriend's daughter had the oreo waffle. She said she didn't taste much Oreo.
